GATORS’ FRESHMAN QUARTERBACK ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSUALT
By FITSNEWS || The University of Florida cancelled a scheduled press conference featuring embattled head coach Will Muschamp on Monday less than an hour before it was scheduled to begin.
The issue? Rumors of an investigation involving freshman quarterback Treon Harris – who entered the Gators’ game against Tennessee during the fourth quarter on Saturday and led the team to a 10-9 come-from-behind victory over the Tennessee Volunteers.
“University of Florida student athlete Treon Harris is accused of sexually assaulting a female student early Sunday morning in a residence hall on the UF campus,” a statement from the school read. “The University of Florida Police Department is investigating the incident, and UFPD has brought in the Gainesville Police Department to assist with collection and analysis of forensic evidence. The investigation is ongoing and the university does not have an update regarding any charges at this time.”
Wow …
In relief of starting quarterback Jeff Driskel, Harris completed 2 of 4 passes for 17 yards against Tennessee – and ran the football four times for 24 yards. The Gators scored on both of his first two possessions under center – after failing to score on ten previous drives with Driskel running the offense.
The 5-foot-11, 178-pound Harris is a true freshman from Miami, Florida. He led Booker T. Washington high school to back-to-back state championships in 2012 and 2013.
Harris is the second Sunshine State signal-caller to be accused of sexual assault in as many years. Last November, Florida State University redshirt freshman quarterback Jameis Winston was implicated in an alleged sexual assault that reportedly took place in December 2012.
Winston was never charged in connection with the incident – and went on to lead Florida State to the national championship (winning the Heisman Trophy in the process).

These recruiters have to do a better job of qualifying individuals that will be positive reflections on the universities they are going to play at. College athletes haven’t always acted like a bunch of wild animals.
Yes, they have always acted like a bunch of wild animals, you just didn’t hear about is as much in the days before cell phone cameras & social media.
I suppose you’re right.
Have you seen the neighborhoods where most college athletes come from these days? This is typical daily behavior for them.
College coaches have stated that the restrictions on face to face meetings, etc. with high school athletes mandated by the NCAA are primary contributors to this problem.
College coaches have also stated that the restrictions on promising lakeside accomodations to high school athletes is another big problem. At least at Clemson.
Little screen name stealer frat boy, still waiting on your PROOF (yours and Folks’) of the above statement. Please include the PROOF about Wingo’s SAT also.
Don’t worry, apparently chocking off two big leads in back-to-back games has messed with their heads.
Chicken Curse is alive!!!
“Wait ’til next year!!!”
Supposedly next year is going to be a rebuilding year, so there may be flashbacks of the early Lou Holtz days.
Squishy, if the Gamecocks lose every game except beat Clemson by 1 point, will you promise to go away?
Only if you go on the air and pull off that toupee.
I will, we have a deal.
Idiot !!!
What class you have to resort to name calling.
How naive of you not to recognize what happened and is constantly recurring.
— all in the finest tradition of Division I student-athletes everywhere. And a ‘true freshman’ with a good start on the obligatory tat sleeve.
Never understood why anyone, especially back people, get tattoos. On black people a tattoo regardless of it being a prison tattoo or from a renowned tattoo artist all look the same, like they need to wash that part of their body.
He’s likely saving for the neck tattoo.
What’s wrong with a neck tattoo? I got one and I’ve never been to jail , work a good job , and a productive citizens of the community. and also by you saying black people should not get tattoos shows how racist really are. so are you telling me the only white people are supposed to get tattoos
…and a productive citizens…
’nuff said.
I love my Gators, but I’ll be damned if I want to see us with a Jameis Winston. I would rather see a 3-13 season. The kid showed a lot of promise on the field, very disappointing news.
As a Gator fan with such “love”, I imagine you realize NFL teams, and not college teams, play 16 regular season games. To help you out, a 3-13 season would be 16 games.
I bet you also wear jean shorts on gameday.
I agree..
Early Sunday morning? What did he do? – get straight off the team plane and immediately proceed to raping and pillaging?
So unfair, how is he supposed to compete for a Heisman and win a championship if the college and police actually take action immediately? He was smart enough not to jump up on a table and curse though. That can lead to slaps on the wrist.
After the Gainesville DA let’s him off, should he celebrate by firing pellet guns in his neighborhood, stealing seafood from Publix and shouting “FH!FHRITP!” from a tabletop at the student union? Should he dress out in pads for UF’s next game?
