“AIR-SOFT” RIFLE INCIDENT PROMPTS DISCIPLINARY ACTION
By FITSNEWS || Four University of Kentucky football players have been suspended for Saturday’s game against the University of South Carolina for their role in an “air-soft” pistol incident on the UK campus Sunday night.
Drew Barker, Stanley “Boom” Williams, Dorian Baker and Tymere Dubose will all miss Saturday’s SEC East showdown against head coach Steve Spurrier’s Gamecocks – and face additional disciplinary action for their involvement in the incident.
“Proper conduct is emphasized as a core value of our program,” head coach Mark Stoops said in announcing the suspensions. “If we have a situation in which someone who does not act according to our standards, we hold him accountable.”
According to University police, Barker, Williams, Baker and Dubose were among the “persons of interest” seen on a surveillance camera on Kentucky’s South Campus near where the air pistol was fired.
“We have been able to identify all of the people in a picture from last night’s incident captured on security cameras,” UK’s police chief said in a statement. “Moreover, three BB guns connected with the incident were recovered as part of our investigation. UK Police officers also have interviewed those identified in the picture and worked closely with the Office of Student Affairs and the Department of Athletics on the appropriate next steps. To that end, we will be meeting tomorrow with the Fayette County Attorney’s office to determine what actions should take place. Once that investigation is completed, that information will be turned over to the Office of Student Affairs as dictated by university policy to investigate whether any violations of the code of student conduct have taken place.”
Really? All over a fake gun?
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, although we’re told it did cause quite a stir on campus.
For those of you keeping score at home, Baker is the Wildcats’ fourth-leading receiver with 11 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown. Williams is the team’s fifth-leading rusher, carrying the ball 16 times for 99 yards and a touchdown. Neither Barker nor Dubose have accumulated any statistics this season.
Kentucky (3-1, 1-1 SEC) hosts South Carolina at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. EDT. The Wildcats ended a seventeen-game SEC losing streak with last weekend’s 17-7 home win over Vanderbilt – and took Florida to triple overtime in “The Swamp” on September 13 before losing 36-30.
South Carolina (3-2, 2-2 SEC) lost to Missouri 21-20 at home – giving up a pair of touchdowns in the final seven-and-half minutes of the game.
The Gamecocks opened as 10-point favorites, although that line immediately dropped to 7.5 and has since slid to 5 points.

For a pellet gun incident? Seriously? We uses to shoot each other with those when we were kids. The PC popo is out in KY!
I’m taking donations of lightly used air soft guns to be air dropped over the UK athletic dorms, we can use all the help we can get….
This just in —– The Iraqi Army is making a donation of a few thousand – and only dropped once!
And never fired to boot!
But they are the best army that Bush II, Cheney & Rummy could train and equip!!!!!
Face it,since 1953 (at the end of Korea) Uncle Sam sucks at using proxy forces when we pull out (maybe except for the Mongs(sp) during Nam and sadly some of them were left out to hang
Now those Girkas (who work for the Brits) are a different matter……..
I’m beginning to think that mercernaries very well may see a comeback (circa 16-18th centuaries) if this shit keeps up.
They’d be the only ones you could rely on in situations we face today
Plus it would fit nicely into FITS libertarian mindset!!!!!
You got “Mongs” right (short for Hmongs) but Gurhka is spelled with a “U”.
I think it’s past time for an American Foreign Legion built on the French model. Require that any use be fully funded prior to sending them in and then let them have at.
The fucktardery from primary educational institutions carries over to college level. The new generation is doomed.
What next? Pop – tart bans?
USC can use all the help they can get this game
If they suspend the whole Kentucky football team……and their cheerleaders dress out instead, then maybe Carolina will have a 50-50 chance of winning!
I guess it is still better than when FSU suspended its only player, and the Taters still allowed an untested QB to throw for over 300 yards and a deep TD to tie the game late in the 4th quarter huh?
You’ll shoot your eye out.
“Really? All over a fake gun?”
“… it did cause a stir on campus.”
If a realistic looking gun is pointed at me and I’m carrying, they’re dead.
