Steve Spurrier Still Dissing Texas A&M

HEAD BALL COACH DOESN’T LET BLOWOUT LOSS CRIMP HIS TRASH TALK

By FITSNews  ||  Our sports columnist Reece Funderburk wrote a great column earlier this month showing some love to Texas A&M head football coach Kevin Sumlin.

Apparently University of South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier isn’t ready to follow suit …

Asked by a reporter this week about some of the gaudy offensive statistics being put up in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) this year, Spurrier responded by saying the numbers were “misleading.”

“You’ve got to realize that most of these teams play somebody like Lamar,” he said.

So … was that just a random, innocent example?  The first team that popped into Spurrier mind?

Sumlin (whose sixth-ranked Texas A&M team defeated Lamar 73-3 three weeks ago) certainly doesn’t think so.

In fact he wasted little time in reminding Spurrier – who has previously mocked Texas A&M’s schedule – what happened in Columbia, S.C. on August 28.

“I keep hearing that people think we haven’t played anybody,” Sumlin said. “I think they forgot about the first week.”

Tssssssss …

Yeah … we’re gonna have to go with Sumlin on this one.  His offense put up 52 points and 680 yards against the Gamecocks – the most yardage surrendered by a South Carolina football team ever .  And Sumlin could have made the score even worse had he not decided to pull up on the final drive of the game (just three yards from the South Carolina goal line).

Don’t get us wrong, we love hearing Spurrier talk the talk … but on this count, his team didn’t walk the walk.

Which means he really ought to think twice before making such quips …

We will get our butts kicked by Auburn – twice – this season.

There’s a few maxims in life that are true but one of them is that Spurrier is hardly ever wrong. He isn’t wrong here either. Just as Spurrier said in his post-game interview at Vandy, South Carolina isn’t a really good team (particularly on that side of the ball under Ward). A&M didn’t play a good team week one, and they still haven’t. Give the HBC his due, he calls it like he sees it…. and this all from a Gamecock fan.

…….have you and Steve Spurrier had your heads up your asses in the last two years? If not, you guys would know that A&M CAN put a lot of points on the board, even against elite teams.

Auburn has to beat A&M for us to see Auburn twice. I am hoping for a rematch against A&M in Atlanta.

After what they did to us in Columbia, I want no part of A&M.

Look Royce, being a Millennial and all, no one ever challenged you to think. So far your career has been pretty easy. Something has to replace the retiring Boomers and fill in the vacuum. This doesn’t mean you can think independently, it simply means no one has challenged you to think. Use what is left of your millennial brain and research the point spreads on the Gamecocks in all their permutations. Then look at our roster. Do you see a pattern in game outcomes based on position assignments, coaching staff? Do you see maybe a sports betting scandal that makes Garcia’s attempts to throw games as lame? We await your analysis.

Hold up. Is the conspiracy that SCAR lost to TAMU so badly because they were thrwing the game, or did UGA/the SEC throw that game? The latter seems far more likely if one is, given the evidence we have from the rest of the season.

On paper, that was a worse ass beating than the 63-17 Clemson game.

On paper.

On paper that was over a decade ago, but I guess if you cant win anymore just bring up past scores like all there is the past. Like the time USC won 56-20. Doesn’t mean much now does it? Well neither does your old score. Win again then talk shit. We wont hear from you until Dabo is gone though. But finally just win again.

That one always riles up you cocks.

Hey…enjoy the winning streak. You won’t live to be old enough to see the series evened up.

Every time you bring up the past, we know its killing you haven’t won in over half a decade, so that’s all you can do. it just hurts doesn’t it? HAHA. good try at a comeback

I like Spurrier because he doesn’t think before he talks.Old school honesty.

Why is USC wasting millions paying this washed up hack? He’s not a coach…he’s a bully whose tantrums are immature, unsportsman-like and offensive. He’s had his chance. He hasn’t delivered. It’s always someone else’s fault. USC needs to invest in a better leader.

It’s simple: every time they play dab0-5winney’s team, the cocks spank that ass. if he keeps that up, he can coach here til he’s dead. It doesn’t hurt that his teams have won 33 games in the past 3 years. His players graduate, and they don’t get arrested for carrying reefer and pills (remember sammy watkins?) or for beating up their girlfriends (does the name Joe Craig ring any bells? I didn’t think so). We don’t need some used car salesman/high school cheerleader. We need a guy who can call plays and he’s the best we’ve ever had at doing that. If you just put a little thought into it, maybe you can figure it out.

So uSC has held the upper hand on CU recently. So what! You gamecock lovers do not realize how far CU went down under T Bowden. It has finally begun making improvements under Swinney but still have a long way to go.

As for Spurrier, he’s still a great coach but as a person he lacks a lot of class and just has several personal issues.
