The Iraqi”Army?” You remember those guys.The ones who literally dropped their American supplied arms and headed for the hills when ISIS approached.
Or my favorites the “Free Syrian Army?”Those are the guys who signed a non aggression pact with ISIS a few days ago.A “fighting force” of doubtful ability,yet we are going to arm them(almost all of which will end up with ISIS)Dont worry too much though.John McCain has “talked” with them.Hell I feel better already.

Dempsey is a traditional “tread head” armor type. Has been a conventional warrior his whole career. Not known to “color outside the lines much” but apparently a very reliable combat commander. He inherited much of the ugliness in Iraq around Baghdad and did a pretty good job getting it under control. As Chief of Staff he barely had time to do anything before bumping up to Chairman of the JCS. He’s done okay there I guess, providing something other than a “yes man” to most of the Sec Def and White House’s bovine excreta. Never served under him, only observed from afar but he seems competent.
The recommendations will be given but go unheeded.
Hopefully cooler heads will prevail all the way around. The only way to deal with ISIL effectively is to kill them all but we lack the will to do that. “Bug killin” of the sort the president proposes to undertake will only create more dedicated jihadists.

I suspect that’s exactly what he’s doing, trying to push it to 2016 before his”legacy”can be damaged. Democrats on the far left are pissed off with this call.
