WORLD TO THE UNITED STATES: “YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN”
Barack Obama does not have a “coalition of the willing …”
Thanks to a couple of beheaded journalists, Obama has the American people ready to support his unilateral declaration of war against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). And yes … this is the same ISIS we were going to support in Syria exactly one year ago.
International support for this high stakes global flip-floppery? It’s non-existent. Two of America’s long-standing allies – England and Germany – made it clear they are not going to participate in Obama’s undeclared war against ISIS.
“We haven’t been asked, nor will we do it,” Germany’s foreign minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said.
Meanwhile Great Britain’s foreign minister, Philip Hammond, also ruled out his nation’s participation in the latest iteration of the “War on Terror.”
America has been bombing ISIS in Iraq for several weeks – and is expected to expand the campaign into Syria soon.

Good Lord, why are we doing this?
Because we have become a nation of paranoids constantly subjected to any hyped up threat from any so called”terrorist group” that commits some blood curdling atrocity that can get them into American living rooms.
Then the process takes on a life of its own.Everyone gets all hyped up,led of course by the usual suspects.McCain.Lindsay etc. There are calls that we MUST “do something.” Politicians roam the land warning of dark “threats” if we dont.
Military action is announced. Its a great day to be an American!Things go well, for awhile. Then, the body bags start coming home. The months drag on.The gung hoism fades.Everyone gets tired of it all, except for the usual suspects of course.Soon everyone is blaming everyone else. The recriminations begin.Things begin to ramp down.Never again we say.
Then another”existential threat” emerges and the whole cycle begins anew.
Grammar challenged headline aside, what did we expect?
“… I can announce that America will lead a broad coalition to roll back this terrorist threat….” – a coalition of who? Turkey, Great Britain and Germany have already said “not so much” http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2014/09/breaking-turkey-refuses-obama-request-to-use-its-airbases-to-fight-isis/
“…This strategy of taking out terrorists who threaten us, while supporting partners on the front lines, is one that we have successfully pursued in Yemen and Somalia for years…” – Who’s this “we” Mr. President? 18 months ago you said you weren’t involved in the whole drone campaign. http://www.politico.com/story/2013/03/obama-im-no-cheney-on-drones-88853.html
GERMANY, BRITAIN REJECT WITH AMERIKA’S “THIRD CRUSADE”
For no extra charge,TBG could proof headlines, even in a dimly lit *scrip club*, whilst doing some investigative reporting, while on a FITSNEWS expense account.
Just saying…
Good grief…never in the history of this republic has there been a more incompetent, incapable, insufficient and inept group of people “leading” it as it is right now. Maybe I should say “in charge” because that is different from actually “leading.” This is just pathetic. Obama and his hashtag adolescents he’s surrounded himself with have not a single effing clue as to what is going on or how to begin to deal with it. Did he even call these countries FIRST before announcing a “broad coalition”? Never mind…I already know the answer. Big job – small man.
Sounds just like Haley! I always knew they were twins separtaed at birth.
Your description sounds just like the Bush-appointed “occupation” government (US viceroy’s regime) in Iraq right after the war. Adolescents hired off the American Enterprise Institute’s resume-posting page placed in charge of major economic offices, if I remember correctly some horrid examples.
Bush isn’t in charge. Obummer is. And he’s been found woefully lacking. Try again.
He was refuting your position that “never in the history of the republic has there been a more incompetent, incapable, insufficient and inept group of people “leading” it as it is right now.
I think we only need to look back about six years to find an administration that is more incompetent, incapable, insufficient and you can throw in deceitful.
You’re just as clueless Tom. Let’s talk deceitful, shall we? “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan.” “Benghazi was caused by an internet video.” “There’s not a smidgen of corruption.” “My administration will be the most transparent in history.” “The sequester is not something I proposed.” “I didn’t set a red line in Syria.” “The ISIL are the JVs.” “We don’t have an ISIL policy.” And I could go on for days with the lies and deceipt of this idiotic bunch. Yeah…deceipt.
O just thought he had grown a set,, forgot he’d pocketed two (2) pecans from the White House lawn and was absent his teleprompter when promising a coalition!
“And yes … this is the same ISIS we were going to support in Syria exactly one year ago.”
Your attempts to pass off your Paulian isolationism off as clear-eyed realism would be more effective if you displayed more care with the facts. I am very skeptical of the magical power McCain (and now Obama) thinks he has to discern the “good” rebels from the “bad” rebels in Syria. But you could at least make an honest summation of his position. There is nothing in the article you link indicating McCain wanted to arm ISIS, which is not even mentioned. The only specific Syrian opposition group mentioned is the Al-Nusra Front,* but you provide no evidence that McCain wanted to arm this group, either. That is probably because it is false. McCain has always tried to minimize the size of ANF in Syria precisely because they are an Al Queda affiliate that should not be receiving US support. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/30/john-mccain-syria_n_3356370.html
It seems you were at least somewhat aware of that at the time, since you were not even willing to directly link McCain and ANF in the article. Instead you blithely refer to ANF as the “sort of people” McCain wants to arm. Now you make even greater leaps by replacing ANF with ISIS and turning “sort of people” into “these people.” That is just dishonest.**
* This group may or may not be in league with ISIS. It has publicly rejected overtures from ISIS, but I have read articles suggesting this is a ruse.
** Again, I am extremely doubtful of McCain’s self-proclaimed ability to separate moderates from extremists, which I suspect would devolve into a No True Scotsman situation where McCain keeps seeking to distinguish every bad actor from some mythical core of “true moderates.” But believing McCain is a arrogant blowhard does not justify you mischaracterizing his position.
Sic Willie don’t need no stinkin’ facts!
“What? Over? Did you say “over”? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!”
I congratulate for making the effort, but your post doesn’t validate the Paul, Ravenel, Folks narrative. When the facts don’t confirm your beliefs – change them……the facts that is.
FITS, Obama is doing it EXACTLY like you and RonPaul said he should Bury your head in isolationism, until Evil grows to a power, you cannot ignore it anymore. But you’re viewed as so impotent, no one will stand with you.
I guess it’s never easy being a world power in senescence. Britain landed lots softer than Germany. Same with France. Russia perhaps slightly harder than these two, given the internal changes as well. But it’s never fun I doubt losing the grip, watching the world proceed on courses you would not choose . . . and until recently would not allow. Will we go down in disgrace in the mideast, as France (and indeed us) in Vietnam, or with grim but essentially voluntary determination, as France in Algeria, England in India/Pakistan? We’ll see I guess.
Just give her a gaddamned neck rub, she’ll come around. (GB to BO)
Face it, Barry lies so much…nobody trusts him…tragic to have such a liar in such a powerful position….that not even our staunchest allies trust him…
Perhaps you should have listened to the UK’s PM this morning (Sunday). The situation ain’t exactly as you portray.
