HE IS THE “GREAT CORNHOLIO …”
U.S. President Barack Obama says he doesn’t need a vote of the U.S. Congress to carry out his planned destruction of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
In a meeting with Congressional leaders this week, Obama said “he would welcome action by the Congress that would aid the overall effort and demonstrate to the world that the United States is united in defeating the threat.”
But the White House quickly reiterated Obama had the authority to unilaterally continue – and expand – his bombing campaign against ISIS without a vote of Congress.
Warmongers in the U.S. House of Representatives – notably U.S. Rep. Peter King of New York – apparently don’t care if Obama gets permission before escalating the conflict.
“This is so imminent, this is so critical, I want the President to take the action and then Congress should pass legislation supporting what the President does,” King said. “I don’t want him to wait until Congress acts because I don’t have full faith in Congress myself, to be honest with you.”
Guess the administration’s fear offensive was successful …
For those of you keeping score at home, a year ago these same warmongers (including Obama) were pushing for air strikes in Syria targeting the regime of president Bashar al-Assad. Those strikes would have benefited ISIS.
Now they want to bomb the anti-Assad forces – which they were previously arming.

Kind of says it all doesn’t it – even Congress doesn’t trust Congress. Here’s a thought Congressman King, stop lubing up and rolling over every time the President comes your way and maybe we’ll eventually get back to the separation of powers we once had.

You are right on with this. In addition: “I want the president to take action and then congress should pass legislation supporting”. That sounds like another idiot congressperson.” You have to pass it before you find out what is in it.” Both of them have been there too long.
This time let’s put together a coalition of Saudi’s, Jordanians, Emirates, Iraqis, Egyptians, Libyans, whoever, and let them fight their own Sunni on Sunni religious war in their own back yard. Then, the winners get a go at the Shia/Iran to continue and finally end the longest war ever, which kicked into gear at the Battle or Karbala in 680 AD. Only rule is both have to be fights to the death. They can take as much time as they need, within reason. The U.S., Europe, Russia and China can back off and watch, becoming much better friends in the meanwhile.
That, however, removes them from not having blood on their hands that can be on an “infidel crusader’s” hands when it comes time to reconcile and make nice in the mosque… not that this hasn’t been practiced by other (ir)religions in history.
Calm down Fits. Obama ain’t gonna destroy ISIS.He created them via the muslim brotherhood. Obama is a muslim and ISIS knows he is just pretending to be “hawkish” toward his radical terrorist soulmates because of the midterms and the fact a majority of the American people don’t trust him anymore.
Why do you think Obama calls ISIS, ISIL? He does so as it let’s the enemy know he is with them and believes Israel is an occupying state..

If I John Boehner I wouldn’t want to have to pass such a resolution. I can’t even pass emergency appropriations for the border issue, without Ted Cruz’s permission. I wouldn’t want to take the risk that it blows up in my face because of a dozon Tea Poopers.

About what? How to get into a war we can’t get out of? How to create a Vietnam on steroids?. How to dump two trillion dollars into the Iraqi Desert and have absolutely nothing to show for it? How to destabilize the middle east? How to take one terrorists organization and turn it into thousands? That you can get the American Taxpayer to pay hundreds of billions of dollars in war profits to a company you are affiliated with on a no bid contract? That the American People will do nothing when company the American Taxpayer just paid hundreds of billions of dollars in war profits to moves its headquarters to Dubai, so they don’t have to pay taxes on those war profits. That you can get away with promising the American people the Iraqis will pay for the war and then afterwards saying they can’t afford it. That if you have enough money and influence you can do almost anything to the American people and they won’t put you behind bars where you belong.

The Republicans don’t want to vote because they can’t support Obama in anything, even when they want to do it.
This is just more of the last 5 years.
That’s why Obama and Democrats should absolutely insist on a vote.
After all, if Congress had voted to bomb Syria a year ago when Obama asked re: chemical weapons, nothing about Syria would be the same today, including ISIL. But, the Republicans get to blame Obama for the results of their own inaction then and the sorry excuse of the American press allows them to get away with it.
Vote on ISIL….and, after the election is too late. Are Democrats stupid politicians, or what!?!
