TIGER FRESHMAN KYRIN PRIESTER BOOTED FROM TEAM FOR “ATTITUDE PROBLEMS”
Clemson University wide receiver Kyrin Priester has been dismissed from the Tiger football team for having an “unacceptable attitude,” head coach Dabo Swinney announced following the team’s practice on Wednesday.
“Kyrin Priester has been dismissed from the team for an attitude that is not acceptable to our standards,” Swinney said in a statement.
A 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back from Snellville, Georgia, Priester turned down offers from Ohio State, N.C. State, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas Christian and Vanderbilt to play for Clemson.
A true freshman, Priester played on special teams in the Tigers’ 45-21 loss to Georgia last weekend.
Clemson had hoped to utilize Priester as a possession receiver given his route-running skill and exceptional hands.
“This guy can motor,” Swinney said last year upon signing Priester. “I think he is a Jaron Brown with a little more speed and athleticism. Jaron Brown played as a rookie a lot and played in the NFL with the Cardinals this year. He will be a very versatile player and we can move him around and he has an ability to stretch the field.”
Now it looks as though he’ll be stretching the field elsewhere …
“Walk boldly through the doors God opens for you, and don’t become discouraged when He closes one,” Priester wrote on his Twitter page in reference to his dismissal.

Right. Perhaps he wasn’t going to church everyday and twice on Sundays as Dabo wanted him to, or god forbid not joining in the team [christian only] prayer.
Had he been going to church and doing what he was supposed to do and not acting like a smart ass, he might still be on the team. You can take him and change him.
Doesn’t work that way, Scooter. Clemson is a public university, and ANY pressure to take part in religious activities is against the law.
I seriously doubt religion had anything to do with it, however.
All the Jeebus in the world can’t cure assholism.
Not good news for the Tigers, given the damage Gurley did to that particular area.
FreedomGovernment-enforced superiority ofreligionChristianitymy branch of Christianitymy interpretation of the doctrine of my branch of Christianity.Clearly that is what the Founding Fathers envisioned. What an incredibly lucky coincidence (for me)!
So I guess his comment he posted on twitter backs that up, right? “Walk boldly through the doors God opens for you, and don’t become discouraged when He closes one.”…really goes to saying he was not Christian himself right? You guys are such a joke.
All I know is all of that pointing towards the sky every time something “good” happens (such as a touchdown) is sort of annoying to me as they never point towards the sky when something “bad” happens (such as a fumble) . . . maybe God only gets involved with touchdowns and when a fumble happens it’s because the Devil made them do it . . . . or maybe they ought to just play the game and do all that pointing or whatever in church on Sunday.
Really, do they actually think that God chose their team to win over his other children?
Yes.
Yes they do.
“Yes they do.”
Amen.
Your assumption is that church services are only held on Sundays? Jews, Muslims, Seventh Day Adventists, etc. don’t know this.
Your assumption is that they are in church while actually on the football field, so that’s why they are doing it?
“Jews, Muslims, Seventh Day Adventists, etc. don’t know this”
I guess I should have just said “church” and left off “on Sunday”. But I’ll bet the majority of the ones pointing towards the sky go to church on Sunday.
Or perhaps he was not a team player, a cancer that needed to be extracted. And perhaps Dabo is coach enough to get rid of the cancer.
He has a big mouth and thinks he is a King. Can’t have him talking trash, acting like a street thug, calling the coaches names.
Just like he was coach enough to ask a suspect / state witness in a double-homicide to give the team a pep talk?
Here’s the issue our intrepid commenters are referencing -> https://www.fitsnews.com/2014/04/23/clemson-football-coach-addresses-religious-critics/
Intrepid…that’s one word for them.
Yeah, suck when they read Kyrin’s twitter after the dismissal, they’ll all look like asses…”Walk boldly through the doors God opens for you, and don’t become discouraged when He closes one.”…sounds like he’s on their side, right?
It sounds like they separated on good terms.
Hey, this idiot turned down an offer from South Carolina to play for Clemson? Maybe his attitude problem is that he said the kitties are going to suck this year.
Your right. Spurrier is more tolerant of bad attitudes. Remember Garcia and to a certain extent Clowney.
I think you meant “You’re” right. It’s a contraction. Clemtech never put much stock in the humanities. Ain’t it the truth?
“Isn’t” it the truth?
You no doubt would pronounce it “yore” in any case. Don’t tell me, you also say, “fer” instead of “for”. The “ain’t” reference was a joke, but I’ll bet you’ve heard your Maw use it. Don’t fib.
Apparently you missed a post on Fits a short while back contrasting job opportunities. Humanities were on the wrong side of the equation when contrasted with technical majors. The check out clerk at the Bi-Lo doesn’t want to hear a sonnet in lieu of seeing cash to pay for your groceries.
Garcia had more of a stupid problem than an attitude problem. He was finally kicked off the team. “To a certain extent Clowney”: Not so much.
Sounds like Clemson has high standards. To get kicked out of South Carolina, you have to steal or vandalize. Unacceptable attitude?
He must have told Dabo that the countdown clock is pretty f’ing stupid. Somebody had to tell him.
Garcia vandalized on a couple occasions and didn’t even get dismissed from the football team let alone dismissed from school.
He did it once you dumb fuck, and he was suspended for it. For someone who doesn’t know or like football from this state you seam to talk a lot about it, even when you have no fucking clue what you are talking about.
That was one of the funniest things I have read, but don’t waste your time on this little bitch. He might tell you that you have no class, when he has none himself. Other than himself under different names no one here really responds to him, other than me just to prove I can make him my bitch at anytime (even though I already have). I am not the one that said “I’ll never bother to reply to you” as he did. All he has to do is reply and its checkmate!! Wait he will in a bit because he is my bitch.. I hope he calls me a “dirtpecker” because all gamecocks got to use their peckers on his mom. Lets see 3.2.1…..
Bible Thumper, you are getting worse in your bias than Fits. Both schools have had their problem children. If Watkins was not a star, Preacher Man Dabo would have cut him loose, when he discovered he was caught smoking dope in a new Caddy. To this day no one can explain how he could pay for that new caddy. If you really want to root for a school that has academics, good football and the players keep thier nose clean, start rooting for Stanford!
Every once in a while I get defensive.
If I recall correctly, Priester did not have a committable offer from USC and was a late take for Clemson after he committed to NC State. MIke Williams, on the other hand, was a receiver USC’s coaches wanted badly.
Tigers Sux Go Gamecock!!!!
Priester probably declined to attend a Swinney “pray-a-thon.” That equals bad attitude.
