On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, Ginny Deerin, candidate for Secretary of State, will begin a statewide small business listening tour where she will hear from small business owners across the state on issues relating to transactions and information retrieval from the office.

“How efficiently and effectively the Secretary of State’s office performs these services affects every company in this state,” said Deerin. “Because, if they have to spend too much time filling out forms, if they have to pay unnecessary fees to get information, and if essential information is not readily available to them, South Carolina’s businesses are wasting their most precious resources: time and money.”

Deerin has an extensive business background. She was vice president of Rawle-Murdy, a Charleston-based full-service marketing firm, where she worked with a variety of for-profit and non-profit clients. Currently, Deerin serves as president of Lewis Walton, LLC, providing consulting services in the areas of management, marketing and fundraising. In 2010, Deerin was awarded The Order of the Palmetto, which recognizes lifetime achievement and service; it is the highest civilian honor in the state of South Carolina.

“The first step to solving problems is understanding what they are and the first step to making improvements is understanding the opportunities,” said Deerin. “I get the importance of listening and appreciate the time so many business people are spending with me.”

lol…this whole thing is a joke. The only small businesses that give two shits about SC goobermint information are law firms, accountants, bill collectors, etc., and those guys don’t care how much it costs to get goobermint info. because they make money off of it no matter what goobermint charges.

“We can’t have SC business wasting “time and money” on government forms because we need them to make more money so we can take it from them in other ways.”-There, all fixed.

Stupid.

This broad is so far left of center that she makes Hillary Clinton look like a tea partier. She’s probably about as knowledgeable about small business as my 3 year old.

Actually, there are things the government can do proactively for small businesses that isn’t “doing nothing.”

I could’ve stomached Colbert-hyphen-Bush because it would have eradicated Sanford like a the pustule he is. And then we could have beaten the Dem w/ a decent Republican. If this woman supports that loser Colbert-Bush, she must be a bigger loser.

The only thing Deerin cares about deregulating are charities and professional fundraisers–you know, the ones who call your grandmother three times a day and spew lies to get her to open up her checkbook.

I want her to tell me more about ending regulations for environmental protection, equal opportunity, affirmative action, and Obamacare, since she is trying to rebrand herself as an anti-government crusader.

What, are those crickets I hear?

Whats funny is that the Secretary of State is nothing but a glorified clerical position that keeps records basically.

It shouldn’t even be an elected position.

It should be part of the Executive branch, appointed by the Governor, who then would be responsible and accountable for its operation.

95% of the people of SC dont even know or care who the S of S is.

Hammond will be reelected of course because he is the Republican.
