WATCHDOG GROUP RANKS HALEY AMONG “WORST GOVERNORS IN AMERICA”

S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley is one of eighteen governors to make a new national list … and like most of the lists South Carolina winds up on, it’s not  a good one.

Haley ranked tenth on the list of corrupt governors compiled by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).

“Some governors on the list essentially turned their authority and regulatory agendas over to special interests,” the group wrote in releasing its report. “Others abused their office in return for gifts and campaign contributions. Many appointed donors to key positions and gutted transparency measures. All failed to live up to the public trust.”

CREW blasts Haley in several categories – including her scandal-scarred tenure as a member of the S.C. General Assembly, her “pay-to-play appointments,” her acceptance of “free trips on the private planes of donors, appointees and people with business before the state,” her flouting of transparency standards and her “misuse of federal funds.”

The report – which devotes seven pages to Haley’s malfeasance in office – is as compelling an indictment of the governor’s myriad ethical lapses as we’ve seen in some time, bringing to light multiple scandals that South Carolina’s mainstream media have allowed to fall by the wayside in recent years.

For example, the report exposes Haley’s Wilbur Smith and Lexington Medical Center scandals – both of which were whitewashed by a corrupt S.C. House ethics panel comprised of her former GOP colleagues in the legislature. It also addresses Haley’s shady appointments – including members of the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) board who sold South Carolina’s economic interests down the river during the “Savannah River Sellout” scandal.

Also addressed?  Haley’s dubious reporting of her political flights, her chronic lack of transparency and her misuse of federal funds related to the study of an Obamacare exchange.

Amusing that Georgia’s Governor Deal is #1 and classified as a Ringmaster whereas our very own, bless her heart, Gypsy is only #11 and classified as a Clown

willie, does one’s smile get bigger when they do it with a Clown or is it the same as when you do it with a midget

Bless your heart. Did you listen to your wife and send ‘traitor’ Tommy a campaign donation?
Hell, Bless his heart-depleted his 401k/IRA of $108,000,received $62,000 in campaign donations and yet has spent at least 3.5 MILLION $$$$$-more than Haley and Sheheen combined thru June.
Appears to me Ervin is counting on clowns and mental midgets for 2% of the brainless.

lol…You get it as usual.Haley may not be perfect however if you elect a ‘traitor’ to the Republican Party like Ervin or a Democrat like Sheheen you will get leadership like the Democrat governor of Missouri.
Yesterday Governor Nixon went on a race-baiting attack on the local police in Ferguson while he has allowed businesses to burn.He has allowed outside agitators to take control of that community. You can’t trust Democrats or liberals to enforce law and order.

“An analysis of CREW’s “watchdog” activities reveals a systematic effort to disproportionately target Republicans and conservative-leaning groups with often-frivolous lawsuits, ethics complaints, and petitions for investigations by law enforcement agencies. An analysis of CREW’s activities demonstrates that it disproportionately targets conservatives by a ratio of more than 8-to-1. At the same time, the corresponding federal oversight agencies responsible for investigating CREW’s complaints indicates that, historically, Democrats have been investigated far more often for ethics violations.”

Nikki should be in the top three. Liberal leaning or not, (and I suspect it is) the references for the ratings are well documented in the report. In Nikki’s case, the trangretions are if anything, under-reported. For example, she loads the DHEC Board with donors AND gets them to appoint her “rock star” favorite,…..who is the only unqualified candidate for the non-cabinet leadership post. The subsequent TB outbreak is handled as a lawyer would, NOT as a public health official. People likely die. Same with DSS, SCDEW, the list of incompetant leadersip goes on.

CREW was founded by Democrat activists Norm Eisen (an attorney) and Louis Mayberg (a prominent Democrat donor, and co-founder of the Maryland-based mutual fund management firm ProFund Advisors LLC). CREW’s “Form 990” IRS filing for 2001 lists Mayberg as one of its three Founding Directors; the other two are Daniel Berger (a high-profile Democrat donor who in 2004 made a $100,000 contribution to America Coming Together) and Mark Penn (a fellow at the New Politics Institute, and a top Democrat strategist and pollster who not only played a key role in Bill Clinton’s 1996 presidential campaign, but also served as head of “message and strategy” for Hillary Clinton’s 2000 Senate campaign).

CREW has received financial backing from the Arca Foundation, the David Geffen Foundation, Democracy Alliance, the Mayberg Family Charitable Foundation, the George Soros’s Open Society Institute, the Sheller Family Foundation, theStreisand Foundation, the Tides Foundation, the Wallace Global Fund, and the Woodbury Fund — all institutions distinguished by their support for far-left causes.

….went from driving a leased Escalade that she could not afford to being chauffeured in black SUV (and sometimes in actual motorcades)…
…went from traveling nowhere or flying in the cheapest seat available to spending her life in private jets…
…went from having an under-employed husband that bankrupted a business to having a husband with well paid government job that allows him to be a hero too…

Being a “public servant” is a great way to live a millionaires lifestyle and get rich too!

In 2010 Politico’s Ben Smith described CREW’s founding in 2003 as “one of a wave of new groups backed by liberal donors” and called CREW “a vehicle for assaults on largely – but not entirely – Republican targets”.

When you have a left-leaning website describing “CREW” as above, I would not put much faith in the group’s findings. FITS, you can do better than this, they threw in a couple of Democrats so they can call themselves impartial..
