JEANNE SHAHEEN HEADS TO SOUTH CAROLINA TO RAISE MONEY
U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-New Hampshire) is headed to South Carolina to raise money from Palmetto State Democrats, sources familiar with her visit tell FITS.
Shaheen will attend a fundraiser in Columbia, S.C. organized by former S.C. Gov. Jim Hodges and former Democratic National Committee chairman Don Fowler.
Hodges and Shaheen worked together during the late 1990s as members of the Democratic Governors Association. He was governor of South Carolina from 1999-2003, while she was governor of New Hampshire from 1997-2003. Meanwhile Fowler worked with Shaheen during his tenure as DNC chairman from 1995-97.
Elected to the U.S. Senate in 2008, Shaheen has been a reliable vote for Barack Obama. In fact she passed the deciding vote in the U.S. Senate for Obamacare in December 2009 – and frequently parroted Obama’s infamous “if you like your health care plan, you can keep it” promise.
She later amended that promise, saying individuals who liked their health care plans could keep them if they were “willing to pay more.”
Shaheen is facing a challenge from Scott Brown – a “Republican” who spent three years representing Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate prior to being defeated by liberal Democrat Elizabeth Warren in the 2012 election. Most recent polling shows Shaheen enjoying a double-digit lead over Brown.
UPDATE: Looks like our scoop has landed Shaheen in a bit of trouble.

Real Clear Politics has the Republicans picking up 7 senate seats as of today. Sure would be nice to defeat Sha(e)heen.
Rumor has it this is a fundraiser for Democrat Tom Ervin-Williams? Why else would she visit South Carolina with a ‘double diget’ lead?
Stay tuned.
maybe she is just following Haley’s lead of traveling all over the country to raise money for others.
Perhaps your employer, Haley, should spend her time doing her job as governor rather than gallivanting all over the country raising money for republicans.
She could start by fixing DSS and our roads.
You know who casts the “deciding vote” against unpopular legislation, or legislation that is unpopular with at least 40 percent of the polls? Everyone who voted against it who is running that year.
You’re smarter than that.
What is it about people with last names like or similar to hers? Seriously!
What about the two other candidates that are challenging her? No mention of them? They actually have a better chance of beating ashaheen than Scott Brown does!
Sorry Steve, we all know that’s no true. But that is what primaries are for. Hopefully after the primary you’ll remember “somebody who agrees with you 80% of the time is an 80% friend not a 20% enemy.” – Ronald Reagan
What’s she raising money for? To have the hump removed from her back?
She is getting money for her new bat wings. You can’t argue that she not only looks like one she sucks the $$$ out everyone.
In NH we call her Where’s Waldo Shaheen. She’s had no public events for two years, unless its a highly scripted telephone town hall or a photo-op with no questions from the public.
Shaheen has apparently found out how to run and hide.
The mighty (mouse) voice of the Senate
Yeah, that’s what we need around here, a commie, pinko, lesbo, yankee, to come talk to folks in SC. That’ll fix it.
