T-Rav , like BFF Tom Ervin, is pro-abortion and pro STATE SANCTIONED gay marriage.
How can FITS say T-Rav is more ‘conservative’ than McCain?
How about equating conservativism with liberty, rather than prying into peoples’ bodies and bedrooms? I am more interested in liberty for American citizens than in trying to dictate what they do in their bedrooms, with whom, and what they do with their bodies.
The more I see about T-Rav on here, the more I am convinced he will get my vote. Yeah, he’s a convicted felon, so fucking what? He did his “time” as it were. Lindsey remains uncharged and unconvicted, yet seems to be engaged in crimes against the people on an almost daily basis. It’s time for a change. Vote T-Rav in and if he is a screwup, vote him out in six years. With Lindsey, any idiot should be able to see we will only get more of the same, or worse.
All officials who are “uncharged and unconvicted” are really criminals. That about right? Of course you use “seems to be”. That would work really well in court.

I do agree with your argument for T-Rav as a candidate. I would for Graham because he is pro-life however T-Rav has indeed done his ‘time’ and I respect the fact he wants to try and make a difference in his community/state.

You’re putting words in my comments, but religion has no place in politics. It’s a proven point that legislating morality doesn’t work. It’s never made an ounce of difference. Abortion was illegal so their were back alley coat hanger abortions. Alcohol was illegal so their were moonshiners and speakeasies. Marijuana is illegal but you can buy it easier than you can buy a gun. Gay marriage is illegal but Reformation Lutheran on River Drive will perform a marriage ceremony right now for a same sex couple.

Conservatism in the Republican party went in to a deep coma the day Barry Goldwater lost the presidential election and the Nixonites took over. Reagan got it back off life support only to have it killed for good with Daddy Bush and his alliance with the Christian Collation, Focus on The Family, etc. (Nothing against religion I just don’t like it in my politics, just like I like orange juice but not in my corn flakes).
The alliances with these groups and the fundamentalist evangelical denominations have made the Republican party the party of social conservatism, fiscal liberalism which is basically defined as compassionate conservatism.
These Christian Conservatives(TM) usually only care about two issues and they are no gay marriage, and no abortion though neither of these issues actually affect them. Their new crusade is we have to feed, clothe and house the urchins crossing our border in droves. They don’t care about enhancing freedom, reducing debt, or improving the country.
