ok – “hundreds of thousands” is a weekend at the texas border; certainly he was correct that there is no ‘rush’. and i’m just gonna guess that any one of those would trade for a US visa in second. two… russian life expectancy has magically jumped 5 years in the last half decade; skepticism is probably called for (something you normally exercise). and population growth is pretty complicated (they recently stole 3 million people from Ukraine). but the long term trend is still down from 1990 – despite being slightly upward for the last 4 years.

Sure, the population is going upwards again, but it still hasn’t gotten up to the near-150 million it had in the early 90s.
