Boeing could have made the Dreamliners longer much more easily by simply inviting our Guvna over to slide her hands up and down the fuselage while licking the nose of it at the same time.

You need experts for expert work.

Eat Crow? South Carolina’s site is leverage, that’s all. A billion dollars worth of taxpayer-funded leverage. And that’s all it ever will be. Eat Crow? Please.

I’ll check my flight to make sure it isn’t a 787-10.

Previously, South Carolina lost out on new Boeing jets – including the 737 MAX and the 777X – due to labor issues and questions about the quality of the workforce in the Palmetto State.
#########################

The labor (union) issues were in Washington.
“The deal, announced by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Tuesday, includes shifting new hires from defined-benefit pensions to a defined-contribution retirement savings plan…. In return, Boeing would assemble the 777X at the current Everett plant, and build the carbon fiber wings nearby.”
The 737 MAX decision was do to union issues and case before the NLRB. This was in 2011, before any so called quality of workforce issue at N. Charleston.
