BUT IS ANYBODY EVEN PAYING ATTENTION?
South Carolinians have a dim view of their all-powerful legislative branch of government, according to a new survey published by The (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier and several Palmetto State television stations.
According to the results, 45 percent of likely voters disapprove of the S.C. General Assembly compared to only 22 percent who approve. A third of these likely voters – 33 percent – were undecided.
Really?
Our guess is a big chunk of South Carolina’s “likely voters” are unable to distinguish between the state legislature and the U.S. Congress – yet the pollsters rattled off a litany of issues they believe contributed to the 2-to-1 negative feelings.
Among them? S.C. Speaker Bobby Harrell’s ongoing feud with Attorney General Alan Wilson, the shady deal-making that led to former S.C. Lieutenant Governor Glenn McConnell’s departure for greener pastures and the defeat of an ethics bill pushed by S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley.
Again … really?
If these pollsters think these 1,000 “likely voters” have a friggin’ clue about ethics reform or the intricacies of any of the scandals at the S.C. State House, they’re crazy.
First of all, a good third of South Carolinians are barely smart enough to breathe – let alone think for themselves. Meanwhile those capable of independent thought are (to the extent they have time to focus on government at all) are hoodwinked by the state’s bought-and-paid-for mainstream media establishment – which manufactures debates and scandals at the margins of government while the real corruption rolls on unmolested.
But hey … let’s all pretend Jeb 12-pack living in a dilapidated trailer in Red Bank, S.C. working three-minimum wage jobs spends his half-hour of uninterrupted waking time ascribing his displeasure with the S.C. General Assembly to the failure of ethics reform.
Because we’re sure that’s what it is ….

You are right. No one cares. I’m A LOT more worried about the damage the media does by lying and under-reporting the evil of your liberal policies.

Hell, I thought FITS was referring to you until he got to the “three jobs” part.
I’d say he at least has a job hocking his shitty blog, but I doubt he makes enough to pay himself minimum wage.
Most of the entire State of South Carolina knows about Bobby Harrell, Judge Casey Manning, Jeal Toal, Allan Wilson and the criminal investigation into Harrell and his …. .. .
Sad that they vote against themselves when they vote Republican. How retarded is that!
This situation suits our legislators just fine. The people sleep, the press is tame, and they go about feathering their nests.
FITS swings, FITS misses, yet again.
MUCH, MUCH better analysis of the “Poll” here: http://scdigest.blogspot.com/2014/07/media-push-poll-devised-to-bash-gop.html
Get educated.
Hey Emily Peterkin, taking a break from looking like a dumbass over in The State’s comments section?
GT is NOT the real Emily Peterkin of Fort Motte. He appropriated her name as one of his IDs, that’s all. She needs to sue his miserable ass.
You’d figure this turd would like to pretend he’s a woman. Explains the irrational anger and stupid remarks.
Well, I guess that’s how you shut that loser up.
GT analysis of poles. Perfect. Was a taste test?
One party system full if Teabaggers thats why they suck ass.
Teabaggers are only part of the problem. The other parts are mainstream Democrats and Republicans.
Keep it up, son. You’re talking about the people who provide you with hits.
I think he might admit that most of us are in the *other* 2/3…
“Likely Voter’s” are an endangered species in SC. Shoot, likely voters who are actually registered do not have exclusive domain serving on jury panels. The “beautiful people” in the General Assembly reduced this duty to a holder of a driver’s license. The likely voter’s in SC for the most part are employed by the state or county municipals. Others moved to SC from upwardly mobile states that actually can run a state government.
Hey, shame on you for that cheap shot at my cousin Jeb, Sic!
The Sixpacks go waaay back in SC history. Back to even before there were such things as six packs — which were named after cousin Jeb’s great-grandparents.
