IT’S PROBABLY NOTHING, RIGHT?

In case you missed it, the United States of America is hungry for war … again.

After expending roughly $4-6 trillion (and thousands of American lives) on a so-called “War on Terror,” the angry drums of the U.S. military industrial complex are once again pounding for intervention – in Europe and the Middle East.

That’s not surprising …

What is surprising?  That the federal government would bury clear and compelling evidence implicating a Middle Eastern nation (a Muslim nation) in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

But that’s apparently what happened … err, is happening .

In the aftermath of 9/11, the federal government produced an 800-page report for Congress which probed foreign support for the the nineteen hijackers – fifteen of whom were Saudi nationals.

The only problem with this report?  The administration of former president George W. Bush classified twenty-eight pages of the document.

Why?

Drum roll please … national security .

Last December two lawmakers – U.S. Reps. Walter Jones (R-NC) and Stephen Lynch (D-Massachusetts) – read those twenty-eight classified pages.  And while they’re not allowed to reveal what was contained therein, they professed to have been “absolutely shocked” by what they read.  Both also proposed legislation aimed at declassifying the entire 2002 report – officially labeled the “Joint Inquiry Into Intelligence Community Activities Before and After the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001.”

More recently, U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Kentucky) read the twenty-eight classified pages.  Here was his response …

(Click to play)

“I had to stop every couple of pages and just sort of try to absorb and try to rearrange my understanding of history,” Massie said. “It challenges you to re-think everything.”

Massie joined Jones and Lynch in urging the immediate declassification of the full report. He also challenged all 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives to read the classified pages “for their constituents.”

They should …

In late 2013, Paul Sperry published a story for The New York Post  detailing Saudi Arabian involvement in the 9/11 attacks.

“The hijackers had, at a minimum, ties to several Saudi officials and agents while they were preparing for their attacks inside the United States,” Sperry noted.  “In fact, they got help from Saudi VIPs from coast to coast.”

After meticulously documenting the assistance the hijackers received – including cash routed from Saudi ambassadors – Sperry expresses incredulity at the fact that “few lawmakers … have bothered to read the classified section of arguably the most important investigation in US history.”

He concludes his report with this chilling line …

Members of Congress reluctant to read the full report ought to remember that the 9/11 assault missed its fourth target: them.

Indeed …

So why would America – a country with an insatiable military industrial complex, a country which conjures up the most dubious of “evidence” to justify armed intervention across the globe – why would a country like that actively suppress actionable intelligence involving the government of Saudi Arabia?

Is the answer really as simple as oil?  Possibly …

The American-Saudi relationship – forged at the outset of the Cold War – has always been about oil.

“The equation was simple: America would provide security, the Saudis oil,” a recent article in The Economist noted.

And while a recent ramp-up in domestic production has lessened American reliance on Saudi oil, the desert kingdom still provides America with 13 percent of its oil imports.

“Saudi Arabia’s 260 billion barrels of oil, by far the planet’s largest single-country reserve, will be a bulwark of the global economy for decades to come,” a recent Foreign Policy  report concluded.

Gotta … get … that … OIL.

Former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul recently opined that the Obama administration should use the latest Middle Eastern flare-ups as a chance to put some distance between Washington, D.C. and Riyadh.  Especially seeing as Saudi Arabia is subsidizing some of the same militant groups America claims to oppose.

“If Saudi Arabia wants to pull back from its deep and unhealthy relationship with the United States we should welcome such a move,” he wrote. “Then we might return to peace and commerce rather than sink under entangling alliances.”

Damn right …

Whatever the path forward with Saudi Arabia is going to be, it cannot proceed without a clear understanding of what transpired in the past between the United States and its “ally.”  Because right now, it looks like two U.S. administrations have suppressed “incontrovertible evidence” that Saudi Arabia was much more closely linked to the 9/11 attacks than anyone previously suspected.

Every U.S. lawmaker should demand nothing less than a complete release of this report …

Will it affect the EBT system?

The $$$ amount available for those who feed their families with the help of EBT could rise, fall, or stagnate. However, inflation will most definitely have an effect on the amount of food that an EBT card will purchase.

This is of massive importance to our country. It’s a shame that most congressmen are minions who instead of standing up, stand in line.

Wait a minute. This is old news. The Tea Party already advanced the theory that the Saudis were ultimately behind 9/11 because of the $$$ trail… . Oh and they also mentioned the “C” word years ago, now being bandied about EVEN on ABC, NBC, and CBS. Caliphate!!!

You know why they haven’t read those pages, right? They don’t want to have to explain why they didn’t do something about it.

Interesting theory, but how would that compel Mr. Massie to “rearrange his understanding of history” and “rethink everything”? He got elected on the platform that government sucks at its job.

It these 28 pages reveal a group of culprits responsible for the attack that isn’t Al Qaeda, that might challenge one’s understanding of history and force them to rethink everything.

You know why we don’t teach the extermination of the Indian nations from Canada to South America, don’t you? Western Civilization, like the Catholic Church, has an image to defend.

Interesting theory, but how would that compel Mr. Massie to “rearrange his understanding of history” and “rethink everything”?

Some Republicans actually believe all that stuff about an agency without oversight or accountability would not only resist becoming corrupt, but actually become the most unimpeachable moral authority in the Nation.

Imagine a true believer’s horror, his morality drawn half from fear of being caught, and half from honor among thieves… being told that if he wanted, a detective had a method for him to see his wife’s loyalty in secret.

After promising not to tell anyone about what he witnesses, led in secret to a vantage point where he can see his wife, taking it up the ass by his boss, squealing like a pig with joy… his friend’s wives nearby, tapping their feet impatiently in queue.

Kinda makes you want to go home and get drunk, or stoned… or kill them both.

The others would say “no way!” I don’t want to know… especially if I can’t tell anyone that I have proof of what a bitch she is.

Willful ignorance plagues this country. Willful ignorance is more damaging than blind ignorance because a conscious decision is made to reject the truth- not unlike your willful ignorance of basic economic laws.

Your bizarre analogy doesn’t really apply to the situation at hand because these are congressmen who not only have the power but the duty to declassify this important document.

euwe max July 21, 2014 at 1:32 pm

So you don’t think their motive is plausible deniability. What do you think it is?

MashPotato July 21, 2014 at 2:26 pm

War profiteering, among other nefarious reasons. The important part is that leadership in both parties agree that the American people should not know the truth. The three brave congressmen who read the document seem to be the only ones doing their job.

euwe max July 21, 2014 at 2:55 pm

War profiteering
——
If they had not read it, how did they know not to read it, and that not reading it would profit them? In what way would it profit them?

MashPotato July 21, 2014 at 5:18 pm

For a supposedly educated man, you seem to need to have stuff explained to you Barney-style a lot.

They probably read about the military exercise with a 9/11 scenario… or something about the source of income being traced to Osama’s cousin… or father.

I’m sure that the architect of the dome of the Rock is beyond suspicion.

Maybe there’s some reference there to Cheney micromanaging the response team… or Bush breaking down in tears and crying for his mommy.

Nothing will come of this because it would require the Republican Party to admit that George Bush and Dick Cheney lied to get us into the Iraq War. That leads to a question of why. Is it just oil. No, its a combination of oil, money and revenge. The Iraq war was a forgone conclusion the day Dubya was elected. Probably from the day, Dick Cheney, as leader of the committee to find a vice-Presidential candidate submitted his own name..

The problem is that “energy” (IOW, oil) is our country’s greatest strategic vulnerability. When Obama celebrates the fact that U.S. now extracts more oil than it imports, that is implicitly acknowledging that we import a hell of a lot… almost as much as we get out of our own well. And the energy sector has overriding importance because impacts every other sector of the economy: transportation, of course, but also the cost of manufacturing, housing, jobs, the availability of food, etc.
We need to keep in mind that, of the fifteen hydrocarbon (oil & gas) exporting countries, only two currently rely on market mechanisms. The rest might — and some, like Iran and Venezuela have already demonstrated a willingness to — use energy as a political weapon.
We’ve seen how even short-term spikes in oil prices, such as the one following Hurricane Katrina, have thrown the economy into chaos.
If we step back from our alliance with Saudi Arabia, leaving the ruling family without the protection they have hitherto received from a U.S. presence, the void will be filled… perhaps by Russia which already controls vast oil reserves of its own and would be happy to control more, perhaps by China, which already calls a lot of shots in DC owing to their large holding of U.S. debt… perhaps by one or more European countries which could help stabilize their currency the Euro against fluctuations (At present oil prices are given in U.S. dollars. That could well change.) None of those options is to our benefit, btw.
We also have to remember that the Saudi royal family is in a precarious position because of its ongoing trade relationship with the U.S. that puts it at odds with anti-U.S. sentiment among its own population. If Saudi citizens were more involved in 9/11 than we, the American public, have imagined up until now, there’s a likelihood that outraged voters would want to hold the Saudi leaders responsible and that might lead to the abrogation of our commitments to Saudi leaders, leading to destabilization of the oil/hydrocarbon markets.

Thank you for bringing this information to the attention of your readers. What we have been told by our government officials and mainstream news media is very, very different from what the evidence actually shows. Just consider the fact that it took the Bush administration 444 days before we had the 9/11 Commission formed. Then the Bush administration first wanted to have Henry Kissinger, the master of cover ups and a wanted war criminal, to head the commission. The worst terrorist attack in U.S. history and this is how they treated the investigation of this event?

There is a really excellent documentary film entitled “9/11:Press for Truth” about some of the 9/11 victims family members and their struggle to get the 9/11 Commission formed and all of the obstacles that they faced along the way. It is available to watch for free on Youtube.

Also for free on Youtube are two excellent documentaries from Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth entitled “9/11:Blueprint for Truth” and “9/11: Explosive Evidence – Experts Speak Out”. They are definitely worth your time to watch.

There is also ISRAELI involvement so don’t just blame Muslims!!!! The Israelis were filming the WTC two hours prior to the first plane hitting the WTC and alot of America knows that! The five dancing Israelis were arrested in white vans with explosives. You scum are going to still try and blame everything on Muslims when Israel was involved with Saudi for the 911 attacks.

Exactly. The Saudis and Israel have this bizarre leverage over the US that future historians will be completely baffled by. I don’t understand why this article failed to mention the Israelis.
