Barack Obama Mocks His Critics

“YOU’RE GOING TO SUE ME FOR DOING MY JOB?” U.S. President Barack Obama mocked a “Republican” lawsuit against him – as well as GOP critics calling for his impeachment. “You hear some of them … ‘Sue him! Impeach him!’” Obama said during a trip to Texas.  “Really? Really? For what?…

“YOU’RE GOING TO SUE ME FOR DOING MY JOB?”

U.S. President Barack Obama mocked a “Republican” lawsuit against him – as well as GOP critics calling for his impeachment.

“You hear some of them … ‘Sue him! Impeach him!'” Obama said during a trip to Texas.  “Really? Really? For what? You’re going to sue me for doing my job?”

GOP leaders – including House Speaker John Boehner – are suing Obama for executive overreach, arguing his administration’s implementation of socialized medicine legislation has usurped power intended for the legislative branch.

“In 2013, the president changed the health care law without a vote of Congress, effectively creating his own law by literally waiving the employer mandate and the penalties for failing to comply with it,”  Boehner said in a statement. “That’s not the way our system of government was designed to work. No president should have the power to make laws on his or her own.”

Is Boehner right?

Well, yes …

Obama has made drastic, unilateral changes to his signature domestic “achievement” – and done so in an effort to temporarily minimize its economic and political fallout.

In fact, in what could qualify as a preamble to the forthcoming suit we wrote thusly back in December …

Obama seems to think he is entitled to rewrite legislation on his own – without approval from Congress (all so his party can win a mid-term election). That’s flagrantly unconstitutional, and Obama needs to be called out for it.  Obama and his allies made their beds when they passed Obamacare … but now they’re trampling all over the Constitution in an effort not to sleep in those beds.

Whether you like Obama (or Obamacare) is irrelevant to this discussion: This discussion is about the rule of law – and whether it still exists in America.  Seriously … what’s the point in passing laws if they can be arbitrarily rewritten at an individual’s whim?

Needless to say this website has as much contempt for Boehner as it does for Obama, so it gives us no great pleasure to agree with him.  Of course while he may be advancing a credible suit, Boehner’s history of supporting many of Obama’s left-leaning policies (as well as his perpetual accommodation of the Obama administration when push comes to shove) doesn’t inspire much confidence.

Seriously … the best way for Obama to save his skin in this (or any scandal) is to have a bunch of hypocritical, big government “Republicans” come at him.

The GOP suit may also be a tactical mistake as it draws the narrative away from Obama’s gravest scandal – the flagrantly Nixonian targeting of limited government groups by his Internal Revenue Service (IRS).  Oh, and the subsequent cover-up.

Obama’s not doing his job. He’s trying to prevent a Blood Bath at the polls in Nov. by pandering to illegals.
Not to mention, w/ Abortion, and Gay households, the democrats have to breed voters from third-world counties by handing out a safety hammock that we cannot afford, but have to pay for.

Great read. This will explain it to you if you can open your leftwing and closed mind: http://scdigest.blogspot.com/

GT, I think Obummer has outsmarted US. I said a long time ago that we should let the libs. have all the abortions they wanted and let the LGBT crowd have their thing. In about three generations we would be rid od Dims all together. But he has decided to use illegals to replace them. Foiled again. Damn. LOL

How many bills has the Senate passed that the House refuses to consider? Amnesty is the only one that comes to mind. According to the below, in March there were nearly 200 House passed bills Reid was sitting on, many of them sponsored by Dems. So you might want to direct your snark to Harry Reid.

A poll of Obamacare enrollees published Thursday by the Commonwealth Fund found that 74 percent of newly insured Republicans are happy with the plans they bought. Overall, 77 percent of people who had insurance prior to the rollout of the Affordable Care Act said they are pleased with the new coverage they obtained in the last year.

The survey revealed the current uninsured rate among working-age adults in the U.S. has dropped to 15 percent, down from 20 percent in July-September 2013 — meaning an estimated 9.5 million people have gained coverage since then.

Repeal would be a bad thing.

Don’t pollute propaganda with facts, damn it !!!!

RogueElephant July 11, 2014 at 12:26 pm

You are actually partially right. As each new govt. program takes the individual rights and corresponding responsibility away from the people they get more and more accustomed to the handout and therefore less willing to go back to individual initiative. Just like the welfare addict that won’t get a job because it would mean losing the govt. “safety net”. Therefore each generation gets more and more dependent on govt. Govt. gets bigger to accommodate the users. More users, more govt. More govt. more users. It is a vicious cycle that only goes one way. Downhill.

Tom July 11, 2014 at 2:34 pm

Typical Republican, Fake News, Rush, Beck BS. Perpetuating the myth that this country is being destroyed by poor people on welfare. Rather than mega wealthy corporations and families paying Republicans to get them defense contracts, tax breaks, subsidies and to let them skirt the law.

Health care is not welfare. Everybody has a right to decent health care. It is an essential element of the right to life..

Kevin Groenhagen July 13, 2014 at 11:26 am

Yet you failed to mention who conducted this poll and to share a link. Obviously, it’s a bogus poll that is not in line with the dozens of polls that have been taken since 2008.

Jack July 13, 2014 at 7:33 pm

So tell me, what do you dislike so much about the Affordable Care Act?

Kevin Groenhagen July 13, 2014 at 7:55 pm

We can start with the fact that it is not affordable. The federal government is going to have to borrow the money that is needed to expand Medicaid in the states that chose to go that route.

We can also consider the fact that Obama employed lies, threats, and bribes to get the legislation passed even after voters in Massachusetts expressed their opposition to it when they elected Scott Brown to take Ted Kennedy’s seat. In addition, a majority of Americans has NEVER said that it supports Obamacare.

We can also look at the fact that, for the first time, the federal government requires citizens to buy a product that they may not want.

We can consider that the law places the IRS, the same agency that displayed gross corruption when it targeted conservative groups, in charge of enforcing Obamacare.

That’s just a few items in a list that could easily go to several dozen.

Jack July 13, 2014 at 8:17 pm

“We can start with the fact that it is not affordable. The federal government is going to have to borrow the money that is needed to expand Medicaid in the states that chose to go that route.”

Where did you hear this? The act should reduce the cost to insured persons by expanding the pool of people with insurance. As for medicaid. This is for people who have no insurance, and cannot afford it. We either pay for it through Medicaid or the insured pay for it by higher insurance premiums because they use the emergency room. Unless you propose letting uninsured people die.

“We can also consider the fact that Obama employed lies, threats, and bribes to get the legislation passed. What lies, threats and bribes are you speaking off. Can you provide a cite?”

As for electing Brown, what does it then say that they did not reelect him? Was that an admission they were wrong?

“We can also look at the fact that, for the first time, the federal government requires citizens to buy a product that they may not want?”

We could except that is not true. So where did you hear that?

Also, it is ok for a citizen to act in a way they know will cost others more, so that they can pay less? The insurance mandate was originally a Republican idea. Democrats would have prefered expanding Medicare to all citizens who want it.

“We can consider that the law places the IRS, the same agency that displayed gross corruption when it targeted conservative groups, in charge of enforcing Obamacare.”

Where did you hear that? The law only allows the IRS to collect the fine for people who do not provide insurance as required and for people who do not buy insurance as required. It is not responsible for the enforcement of the affordable care act. The IRS is the only way to collect money.

Who said the IRS displayed gross corruption or even unusual corruption in regard to conservative groups? Do you have a cite to someone who has proof of that?

Kevin Groenhagen July 13, 2014 at 9:21 pm

1. “Where did you hear this? The act should reduce the cost to insured persons by expanding the pool of people with insurance. As for medicaid. This is for people who have no insurance, and cannot afford it. We either pay for it through Medicaid or the insured pay for it by higher insurance premiums because they use the emergency room. Unless you propose letting uninsured people die.”

http://www.forbes.com/sites/merrillmatthews/2013/03/22/why-health-care-spending-will-explode-under-obamacare-evidence-from-medicare/

2. “As for electing Brown, what does it then say that they did not reelect him? Was that an admission they were wrong?”

Brown’s initial election overwhelmingly entailed just one issue, i.e., Obamacare. He campaigned as being the vote that would stop Obamacare. The second election entailed several issues in addition to Obamacare.

3. “What lies, threats and bribes are you speaking off. Can you provide a cite.”

You can keep your health care plan if you like it? That was PolitiFact’s “Lie of the Year” for 2013. You can keep your doctor if you like him? Another lie. Obama also lied to Bart Stupak to get his and several other “pro-life” Democrats. The Cornhusker Kickback was a blatant bribe. And Obama told one Democrat “Don’t think we’re not keeping score, brother” after he defied Obama on a vote prior to the Obamacare vote. That definitely was a veiled threat.

4. “We could except that is not true. So where did you hear that?”

It’s absolutely true. If you do not buy health insurance in accordance with Obamacare, you are subject to paying a fine.

5. “Also, it is ok for a citizen to act in a way they know will cost others more, so that they can pay less? The insurance mandate was originally a Republican idea. Democrats would have prefered expanding Medicare to all citizens who want it.”

That is a falsehood. The insurance mandate was sponsored by a RINO, Se. John Chafee, whose son is now an Obama supporter. It never went anywhere in Congress during the 1990s because Republicans did not support it.

6. “Where did you hear that? The law only allows the IRS to collect the fine for people who do not provide insurance as required and for people who do not buy insurance as required. It is not responsible for the enforcement of the affordable care act. The IRS is the only way to collect money.”

http://www.galen.org/2013/46-new-irs-powers-to-enforce-obamacare/

7. “Who said the IRS displayed gross corruption or even unusual corruption in regard to conservative groups? Do you have a cite to someone who has proof of that?”

You need to follow the news.

Reid’s actions mostly boil down to refusal to allow bullshit amendments that the Senate wants to tack onto various bills. Here’s an example:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/09/harry-reid-gun-amendments_n_5571743.html

Which ultimately leads to:

http://www.guns.com/2014/07/11/popular-senate-sportsmens-bill-killed-after-blizzard-of-amendments-from-both-sides/

So, basically, a bipartisan bill regarding hunting/fishing turns into one giant gun control versus gun rights battleground, and since Reid wouldn’t allow shitty, unrelated amendments (from either side mind you), the bill didn’t beat a filibuster.

Not to say Reid never abuses the “filling the tree” procedure, but his claim of amendments being used for political points and/or sinking the bill anyways is no lie.

He’s the Celebrity-in-Chief, enjoying the fame and adulation but having nothing to do with the real work that goes along with being the “president.” We have a humanitarian crisis (of the admin’s own making) in progress and what does he do? Not so fast my friend

Unemployment at 6.1% because no one is bothering to even look for a job anymore.

Banks are solvent because they were fed billions of dollars from the government, and then quit loaning $

Economy is growing….yup at -2.9% last I checked

401Ks inflated due to equity market waiting on its correction, and then you won’t be so flush…maybe “flushed” is a more proper term

Housing coming back…not really…housing starts have been fairly stagnant the last 2 years, as well as building permits.

Total BS. I call a person racist when they evidence racism. Calling President Obama “Obammy” is racist by any definition. Get over it.

You can hate the president as most Teanuts seem to do, even though they can’t precisely explain what they hate him so much for, and not be a racist. But when you use language relating to the President that is clearly racist in nature or designed to appeal to racist you label yourself. It is now up to you to prove you are not.

Kevin Groenhagen July 13, 2014 at 6:43 pm

Of course, to moonbats like little Tommy here, any criticism of Obama is racist.

Hardly, I have criticized Obama frequently. I never do it with racist language. Using racist language makes you a racist as far as I am concerned, until you prove otherwise.

Tom July 13, 2014 at 6:36 pm

You have got to be kidding me? How could you not know referring to a Obama as Obammy is racist. The reference it to a mammy. A black slave who worked in the house and generally took care of her master’s children.

Perhaps you have never seen or read “Gone With the Wind”

That’s why we have a third branch of government — a supposedly impartial judiciary. Presidents think they have certain powers, specified or implied, under the Constitution and the Congress thinks they don’t. The courts get to decide. Look back and you’ll see the courts have usually sided with the Executive branch — although I am not sure what the activist Roberts court would do in their zeal to thwart President Obama. As far as the powers of Congress are concerned, they usually forfeit them. Congress isn’t up to hard decisions or tough fights (see the so-called War Powers Act).

The really bad joke is, Obummer is only a symptom of a much bigger problem : a country that would elect an Obummer in the first place. The 2016 election will tell the world whether or not the USA is worth saving. If the takers outnumber the makers it is all over with no hope of return to sanity. An interesting next three years.

Let me spare you the suspense. in 2016, Hillary returns to the White House.

And if that happens, we’ll have completed our descent into a third-world, banana republic – where the ignorant, lazy and stupid are most interested in what their country can do for them. Not the other way around.

Dead on. If the libs win in 16 we are all over as a free country. I truly hate to think it may happen but current events are pointing that way.

Hey I said all that back in 1964!

You mean that damn country is STILL there?

Fat Greg Dulli July 12, 2014 at 12:20 am

Nauseating.

Mary July 11, 2014 at 2:58 pm

Actually I don’t think I’ve ever met a Republican who gave a crap about this country other than what it could do to make him richer. What the heck have you done for this country when compared to what living in this country has done for you. Not a damn thing.

Exactly what I mean by ignorant, stupid and lazy. Thanks for playing Mary.

Agreed, if the Koch Brothers, the Oil Companies, the defense contractors, the lobbyists, and the other takers the Republicans generally represent win, we are screwed.

HOPEFULLY WE HAVE A CLEAN SLATE IN 2016?

Our society is at great risk, if Obama and the Democrats
get their way, drug cartels, human traffickers and dangerous criminals will
flow freely through our borders and fill our neighborhoods, because he will not
stem the tide with the National Guard. Prior to even Obama’s Imperial reign,
borders have never been fully sealed, with the 2006 Secure Fence Act that was
sabotaged by GOP former Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson for some obscure reason;
probably as her corporate cronies didn’t like it. Now we are suffering the
consequence. Absolutely we should build 700 miles of double or even triple
fences, as the massive costs would be reimbursed from not having to financially
support 11 to 20 million plus illegal aliens? Think about it!

There is no accurate way to figure the actual numbers of
foreign nationals; they hide away from Census takers. Obama cannot be trusted anymore. He has no
intention of securing our borders or is unlikely to enforce the border with
‘boots of the ground’. Under ARTICLE 1, Section 10 of the US Constitution: No State shall, without the Consent of
Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of
Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a
foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such
imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.

WELL TEXAS AND THE BORDER STATES HAVE BEEN INVADED
BY THOUSANDS OF ILLEGAL ALIENS, WITH LARGE NUMBERS OF 14 TO 18 YEAR OLDS,
DISPLAYING ON THEIR BODIES M-13 GANG MEMBERSHIP AND WITH WITHIN THOSE NUMBERS
OF ILLEGAL ALIENS CARRYING NASTY CONTAGIOUS DESEASES, SO THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO
PROTECT THEMSELVES BY WHATEVER MEANS:

He is a fraud and a liar having betrayed the
American people other than those vermin who idolize him for free handouts of
unrestricted food stamps. Obama is pressing for an amnesty plan that is a
danger to our national security. People from the Middle East and our destruction in
mind are arriving with those people from Mexico, El Salvador Honduras
and Guatemala. Democrats are going
to try and pass an amnesty bill while no one’s looking, at a late night session
before Congress closes shop vacation time; by presidential executive order.
These new waves of illegal aliens are affecting the thin line of defense on the
border, straining resources and the worst is yet to come?

That without visible signs of the military patrolling,
the open areas without barriers the numbers of unknowns will accelerate. The
President and his cohorts think the answer is taxing us even more, to pay for
anybody who makes it across either border. Mexico is not our friend, and
they will not enforce their side of the border. We are a foolish people who
trust the words of our lawmakers, who do one thing and then double-cross us. We
need to rid ourselves of this Liberal Progressive President, who cannot be
countered for the scandals on his watch.

People
need to get off their rears and voice their anger against the most
anti-American president in the history of our country. He has allowed 36,000 alcohol-abusing,
drug addicted, sexual predators, Murderers and hit and run uninsured animals
and other criminals to flood our streets; where our children walk.-and millions
more are coming if Obama gets his way with amnesty. We just can’t let that
happen or we will be living in a fear 24/7, paying taxes just to pay for the
poor of the world who feed off hardworking Americans. Obama says amnesty will
make our communities safer—that is a flat-out LIE! You will never read the
truth in the mostly Liberal leaning newspapers. The political polls have fooled
the gullible. Read some of the people’s commentary in thousands of newspapers
encompassing this country and learn the truth, not the main columns of false
information. Indeed, even the polls have a Liberal-elective point of view,
unless you read Polls such Rasmussen Reports.
Our nation is being invaded each day, but until now the truth has been
hidden, unless you ask the ranchers and property owners in the Border States who suffer each day
from criminal activity. If it costs a hundred billion dollars to hermetically
seal the border tight, it would be well worth it in the end.

Obama can, and should, be impeached. Unfortunately, the corrupt Democrats in the Senate would block conviction. Therefore, I believe the people themselves should take the initiative and remove Obama from office by following the process outlined in chapter 19 of John Locke’s “Second Treatise of Government.” I outline the reasons why Obama should be removed from office and Locke’s prescription for putting the old form of
government, i.e., our constitutional republic, into new hands in a short book,
which can be downloaded at http://www.chapter19.us/whatthen.pdf

I believe there is not nearly enough mocking in modern politics.
Derisive mocking, of course (though, really, is there any other kind?)
What, in skilled hands, can faster reveal the central points?
.
Writers should read more Mencken for starters, and Hiaassen.
