Been sleeping naked since I quit pooping my pants 50+ years ago. Had a female NCO come storming into my barracks room early one morning about 30 years ago demanding that I “…get up and come with me [her]…” I did, butt naked and standing proud, she never entered my barracks room again.
Spec5 or Specialist Five was a rank equivalent to Sergeant. At one time the specialist rank went all the way to Spec8 (though Spec8s were few and far between). Generally Specs were in career fields that required little supervisory responsibilities. Pharmacy techs, crypto techs and specialized signal corps jobs. I was working at Andersen Air Force Base(Guam) in 1980 when the , I hope I can remember this right:
The Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force made a tour.
Had his own c-141 and his own staff car.
Officers tried their best to absent themselves from his presence.

My uncle was the command chief master sergeant at Eglin Air Force Base asshats of all ranks tried to avoid him. I was about ten or twelve the first time I saw him ruin an “ossifer’s” day by pointing out the numerous deficiencies in his plan in front of his assembled staff. It was masterful, respectful, cached in accurate, doctrinal terminology and utterly devastating. I learned a lot from that guy.

Ya’ gotta hand it to those guys. My Dad retired from Ft. Jackson as an E-9. His career mostly followed a path where he was pretty much on his own without supervision and pressures from above. When I enlisted in the Navy (grrrr from Dad) and then went on through my professional career and other endeavors I was the same. Dad cultivated his independence within a large and structured organization. I cultivated my independence through various means, including hard work and learning to interact with folks of all kinds. My wife used to joke that if I had been born in an earlier time I would have been happy being like Clint Eastwood in his cowboy movies.

Genesis 2:25 – And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.
Until the dog knocked the door open and their son was standing in the hallway with his girlfriend.

Why is an NCO ordering a Colonel around?
I was a Spec5 at the time.

So if my wife bitches about the brown streaks in my underwear, what it she gonna say when they start appearing on the sheets?
Don’t know what to tell you.
However, you can lessen her laundry load by going”commando”.
