“MAYORHOOD” SCRUBBED FROM FIRM’S WEBSITE
Columbia, S.C. mayor Steve Benjamin is no longer employed by Parker Poe, a North Carolina-based business law firm with offices in Columbia, Charleston and Spartanburg.
The mayor’s name was recently removed from Parker Poe’s website, although as of this week references to his employment with the company still appear on his campaign website bio and his official City of Columbia bio.
According to our sources, the firm asked Benjamin to leave earlier this year – but he requested (and received) a ninety-day reprieve.
Benjamin has been all over the news in recent weeks … and not in a good way.
For starters, he’s a central figure in an ongoing federal corruption investigation that picked up steam with the recent indictment of his former business partner Jonathan Pinson.
And that investigation has turned very, very saucy … even by South Carolina standards.
In fact we’re told several of Parker Poe’s clients were “extremely disturbed” by recent revelations regarding Benjamin.

Couldn’t stay away from FITSNews long, could you, Smirks? I bet it was 8 hours max…
If thy smell, one must flush. The stink on this guy is unreal!
I read that Parker Poe replaced this mayor with one from with Toronto. Is that true?
“Lay down with dogs…”
Yeah, he must have been running with Frazier, Metts, James, Peeler, Amodio, halfacreand the rest of the Gang accross the river!
Me thinks he is carrying much more than fleas.
Gambling?, Bribes?, Prostitutes? Drugs? and other NEFARIOUS activities? The gang is infamous for?
Mayor Steve Benjamin has the willpower and morality of a dog. He is not fit to be mayor. In fact, his strong arming the Bull Street development is now suspect of criminality.
Shout out to the City of Columbia:Do not sign anything relating to the Bull Street Development
Speaking of this NC lawfirm, did you hear about NC’s State Treasurer Janet Cowell?
“One of the most important revelations to emerge in 2014 to-date, is the fact that public pensions are taking on an increasing amount of irresponsible risk in order to meet return targets.
The primary way they are doing this is by investing a larger and larger percentage of assets with “alternative investment” managers such as hedge funds and private equity firms.
Specifically, states have increased allocations to alternatives to $460 billion, or 15.3%, from only 3.3 percent in 2001, according to the National Association of State Retirement Administrators. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. What is really shocking, and extraordinarily disturbing, is the fact that the deals these public pensions enter into, and associated fees paid, are intentionally kept secret from the public, and the people’s whose assets are at stake have absolutely no idea how their money is being invested.”

How dare you compare Mayor Benjamin to a dog. You owe an apology to the dog.
Arf ! Arf !
Nice pick up FITS.

Emily, maybe if you start paying people to come to your website you’ll begin to see some traffic.
That’s okay, Stevie. As head of the Democratic Party in South Carolina, I still love you and that’s all that really counts.
And don’t forget I’m so far left and liberal I could be yo mama!
Remember the , so called conservative Republicans, reelected me!
They did, didn’t they? Hahahaha. Tom Davis and Chip Campsen were the big ones we landed. Every whore has a price. Hahahaha.
The story coming out of the Parker Poe crowd is that the managing partners are afraid an indictment is forthcoming.
Brings to mind one of TBG’s favorite legal terms:
“Unindicted co-conspirator“
Or some of my favorites:
“Not-so-unindicted co-conspirator.”
“Pretty much screwed co-conspirator.”
“Cooperating witness.”
“Fugitive.”
“Convicted felon.”
“Plausible deniability” is another good one.
Good luck with that one, “your honor, under advice of counsel I exercise my fifth amendment rights” seems like it might be more useful here.
I like that, its funny. He he he.
Now it makes sense why he pushed so hard for the ball park. He is preparing for retirement
For those who missed it……

They must live under rocks…
Well they are lawyers.
Forget Benjamin, Metts in the NYT:
Read it here first: http://scdigest.blogspot.com/
I’ve been over to that site, it’s like visiting here (Columbia) and going over Emily’s page (Redbank).
Still staying at the crib?
Maybe he crossed the line, but not the ultimate line…
Obviously he has a price, don’t count anything out!

The IRS should take a look at Benjamin’s tax returns to see if he reported his “all expenses paid, non-business” trip to Orlando and the funds he received for his portion of the Village at River’s Edge deal.
Benjamin is a Democrat. He will not be made a target by the Obama IRS.
Sadly, you are probably right.
However, this is why the citizens of Columbia need to demand answers from him and that action be taken.
The IRS can’t find them.
Dat brutha gonna be sevvin sum time!
Are those people behind the mayor getting ready to arrest him?
Nothing to see here. Benjamin did nothing illegal. Easy to explain away: Do you buy that?
Great piece. Read more: http://scdigest.blogspot.com/
Now would be a propitious moment for Jonathan Pinson, our mayor’s pal in crime, to seek a reduction in prison time by flipping on Benjamin.
Is as does…
