Why waste time with this bill? They’ll break every rule on it.

“The Palmetto State – home to one of America’s most secretive and corrupt state governments – seems impervious to real accountability. How come?” A simple question with a simple answer. A tame fourth estate doesn’t do any critical reporting and rarely challenges the status quo because they are part of it. The electorate is ignorant and complacent and never pushes the pols to make changes. Just take a look at the impending gubernatorial election. Haley’s administration is committed to continuing the state’s history of corruption and cronyism, but she’ll win re-election. Nothing will change.

I agree 100 percent.

South Carolina voters are milque toast for corrupt politicians, who eat ’em alive.

The pathetic rot in the Palmetto State begins at its roots, not at its branches.

And the fourth estate? It’s into advertising and cost cutting, not news.

Thank God for Ashley Landess and John Crangle, the only watchdogs left.

These folks raise their pay after spending tons of money to get the job.Ethics in government is a farce. The sad thing is American citizens allow this to happen because they do not keep up with it.

A jest from Haley. You may be right Manray. The pubs will lick it up, and know they are the FOFCE in SC. Good luck to the state.

Loftis did not mention Haley. He was speaking generally, and I agree with him.

Haley did not care enough about the Commission to even fill the seats! And when she did make appointments she put well connected people like Mr. Florence, the Chairman, who is with Nexen Pruet the law firm. It is essentially an arm of the State Government. Loftis may not have mentioned Haley but he sure could have.

As far as I am concerned, fraud, waste and abuse should be the only three issues in the fall election.
SC State, Leatherman, Lexington County Sheriff, and the other three sheriffs too, Ken Ard, the Retirement System Investment Commission, Robert Ford, Harrell, etc.
Until we clean up our government nothing else matters much.

Haley seems happy with Leatherman increasing his power, and decreasing her’s and that of the average elected official at the same time. She did not raise a word of discontent, and in fact seems not to care. I mean, as long as Leatherman allows her to raise money for her campaign, make money for herself, friends and family, she is OK with the rest of us getting screwed.

I wonder how long Leatherman is going to let her live in the mansion? After all, without him, there are no funds, no employees, no protections, etc.
