… AND ITS LEADERS THINK THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING
Remember the big Internal Revenue Service (IRS) scandal?
Of course not. It was all the rage earlier this year, but since then “Republicans” have been far too busy targeting Tea Party candidates for defeat, ramping up funding for domestic spying and warmongering in the Middle East to pay it much mind.
Which is why the administration of Barack Obama believes it can get away with telling us that a computer crash “inadvertently” deleted the emails of Lois Lerner – the former IRS official at the heart of the scandal.
“The Dog Ate My Emails” is the headline of an excellent piece by Washington, D.C. insider John Fund which thoroughly debunks the Obama fiction – quoting incredulous experts who know good and well that Lerner’s emails didn’t just disappear into some cosmic void.
But it’s not Fund’s effortless refutation of the Obama administration’s nonsensical premise that’s important – it’s the backdrop.
“If there is an ongoing cover-up of the IRS scandal, it’s obvious why some folks would be desperate to continue it,” Fund writes. “Last year, Time magazine’s liberal columnist Joe Klein wrote that the IRS scandal placed President Obama ‘on the same page as Richard Nixon.’ Article II of the Articles of Impeachment by the House Judiciary Committee in 1974 included a charge that Nixon had caused, ‘in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, income tax audits or other income tax investigations to be initiated or conducted in a discriminatory manner.’ The Judiciary Committee was also deeply disturbed by the Nixon administration’s apparent efforts to conceal evidence.”
Obama’s administration has done all that … and then some. And now they’re trying to cover it up.
And guess what … they’ll probably get away with it, too, seeing as the nation’s legacy media outlets are totally in the tank for the administration and congressional “Republicans” are the very last group of people capable of running any sort of credible investigation.
That’s too bad …
“Of all the scandals hanging over the Obama administration, its use of the IRS to silence political opposition in advance of the 2012 election – and the subsequent coverup of the scandal – is by far the most egregious,” we wrote back in February. “That’s why Obama is doing his best to sweep it under the rug.”
And getting away with it …

If I woke up one morning and saw that face asleep on my arm, I would ease my other arm into the night stand, pull out my knife and cut my arm off just not to awaken her
Admirable that you would rather bleed to death and find salvation in the afterlife than just slice her throat and bury her in the crawlspace. Perhaps the best solution would be to cut your own pecker off to prevent such mistake in the future.
… the best solution would be to cut your own pecker off …
Seems a bit extreme.
Maybe the folks at BOB’s could cut off jimlewisowb’s last 6 Ying Lings instead?
In my case, whittling it down to sub-sun-blot would be a public service.
bury her in the crawlspace

to hell with drug testing our representatives – rip up the floor boards – that’ll send Harrel to the hoosegow fer shure.
I think I’d just gnaw it off… would serve me right for being there in the first place.
yeah I think that’s how the joke went in the early 80’s when we were running hard. It’s funny how you can get a pretty good idea of a person’s age based on the references they make, use of grammar like your / you’re. I always liked the one about picking up women by licking my eyebrows. Then there was the stripper in Augusta with the snake,…could go on and on.
Then there was the stripper in Augusta with the snake,…
Holy Crap!
TBG remembers her as well.

ITBGRC, the joke had to do with the difference between *doin’ it* “Doggy Style” or “Coyote Style”.
“Rodeo Style” is when engaged in doggy style , you say, “Your sister is better at this…”
Then try to hold on for 8 seconds.
The cotton tail ranch outside Dallas has a splooge gargling bottle squatter who launches a pickle into the audience.. .the bouncer pays 100 bucks to anyone who takes a bite out of it and throws it back on stage.
“Your Government Thinks You’re Stupid”
Well, we did elect Barack Obama twice. But you left out that they are even more brazen than you allow – they now claim that the emails of another 6 employees involved in targeting conservative groups are “lost.”
The stupid ones voted for the loser – twice.
Obama’s performance proves otherwise. And I think we both know it is not Romney voters that the administration is targeting with this nonsense. I certainly do not know any conservatives that are gullible enough to think computer crashes are contagious.
You mean Bush? Or the war hero and successful business man from Kolob?
Take you pick!
Mid-terms 2014 are essential to the survival of this nation.
Impeachment proceedings need to begin shortly after Republicans become the majority in the Senate.
Obama will play the race card and stir up civil unrest HOWEVER the nation is at a crossroads.
He has already committed several impeachable offenses however there has been no ‘stomach’ by legislators or the public to impeach this fraud.
In my opinion his treasonous trashing of the Constitution has made many question his patriotism and heart for this country.Allowing what is going on along our border with the influx of illegal women and children sealed the deal.
Impeachment proceedings are the only answer to stop this pResident.
There is no survival to this nation. It is gone. The Republic on which it is founded is dead and the Constitution has been shredded to pieces. The only possible “solutions” to this are the breakup of the country or a revolution. Neither is likely to happen.
…we did elect Barack Obama twice.

Condoleeza Rice “forgot” about Saddam not seeking uranium from Africa
Even if that were true, would it justify this administration lying to the American people? As part of your novel research on the meaning of words like divorce and wife in Matthew, you might want to add the term tu quoque to your studies.
Even if that were true
——
Ignorant troll
I framed it that way deliberately, because I do not want to go down this idiotic rabbit hole again. But you falsely said she forgot “about Saddam not seeking uranium from Africa.” You cannot grasp that there was a conflicting reports from the CIA and British intelligence. Rice’s poor memory was on the CIA REPORT. The British stood by and still stand by their report after 2 different inquests.
And it still has absolutely nothing to do with the IRS matter. But feel free to throw out some more logical fallacies. It seems to be all you have to work with.
If she didn’t forget uranium – what DID she forget?
For the last time, the forgery was an Italian document that HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH BRITISH INTELLIGENCE. It was not the basis for their reports, and was not generated until afterwards. The Brits held an inquest that considered the forgery and stood by their report.
And of course not an iota of this has anything whatsoever to do with the IRS scandal.
The Niger uranium forgeries are forged documents initially revealed by SISMI (Italian military intelligence). These documents seem to depict an attempt made by Saddam Hussein in Iraq to purchase yellowcake uranium powder from Niger during the Iraq disarmament crisis.
On the basis of these documents and other indicators, the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom asserted that Iraq violated United Nations Iraq sanctions by attempting to procure nuclear material for the purpose of creating weapons of mass destruction.
In late 2002, the Bush administration began soliciting support for war in Iraq using the political slogan “coalition of the willing” to refer to what later became the Multinational Force – Iraq. To back up its claim that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction, that administration referred to intelligence from Italy, Britain, and France detailing interactions between Saddam Hussein and the governments of Niger, Somalia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Specifically, CIA director George Tenet and United States Secretary of State Colin Powell both cited attempts by Hussein to obtain uranium from Niger in their September testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
At that time, using information derived from the same source, the UK government also publicly reported an attempted purchase from an (unnamed) “African country”. In December, the United States Department of State issued a fact sheet listing the alleged Niger yellowcake affair in a report entitled “Illustrative Examples of Omissions From the Iraqi Declaration to the United Nations Security Council.”
The classified documents detailing an Iraqi approach to purchase yellowcake uranium from Niger were considered dubious by some analysts in U.S. intelligence, according to news accounts. By early 2002, separate investigations by both the CIA and the US State Department had found the documents to be inaccurate. Days before the Iraq invasion, the International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA) voiced serious doubt on the authenticity of the documents to the UN Security Council, judging them counterfeit.
In his January 2003 State of the Union speech, U.S. President George W. Bush said, “The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.”
This single sentence is now known as “the Sixteen Words.” The administration later conceded that evidence in support of the claim was inconclusive and stated,
“These sixteen words should never have been included.” The administration attributed the error to the CIA. In mid-2003, the U.S. government declassified the 2002 National Intelligence Estimate, which contained a dissenting opinion published by the U.S. Department of State stating that the intelligence connecting Niger to Saddam Hussein was “highly suspect,” primarily because State Department’s intelligence agency analysts did not believe that Niger would be likely to engage in such a transaction due to a French consortium which maintained close control over the Nigerien uranium industry.
The Sunday Times dated August 1, 2004 contains an interview with an Italian source describing his role in the forgeries. The source said he was sorry to have played a role in passing along false intelligence.
Although the claims made in the British intelligence report regarding Iraq’s interest in yellowcake ore from Niger were never withdrawn, the CIA and Department of State could not verify them and are said to have thought the claims were “highly dubious”.
Previously, in February 2002, three different American officials had made efforts to verify the reports. The deputy commander of U.S. Armed Forces Europe, Marine General Carlton W. Fulford, Jr., went to Niger and met with the country’s president, Tandja Mamadou. He concluded that, given the controls on Niger’s uranium supply, there was little chance any of it could have been diverted to Iraq.
His report was sent to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Richard Myers. The U.S. Ambassador to Niger, Barbro Owens-Kirkpatrick, was also present at the meeting and sent similar conclusions to the State Department. CNN reported on 14 March 2003 (before invasion) that the International Atomic Energy Agency found the documents to be forged.
In early October 2002, George Tenet called Deputy National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley to ask him to remove reference to the Niger uranium from a speech Bush was to give in Cincinnati on October 7. This was followed up by a memo asking Hadley to remove another, similar line. Another memo was sent to the White House expressing the CIA’s view that the Niger claims were false; this memo was given to both Hadley and National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice.
The actual words President Bush spoke: “The British Government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa” suggests that his source was British intelligence and not the forged documents.
However, George Tenet has admitted that making the claim was a mistake, stating, “The president had every reason to believe that the text presented to him was sound. These 16 words should never have been included in the text written for the president.”
Further, in March 2003, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released results of his analysis of the documents. Reportedly, it took IAEA officials only a matter of hours to determine that these documents were fake. Using little more than a Google search, IAEA experts discovered indications of a crude forgery, such as the use of incorrect names of Nigerien officials. As a result, the IAEA reported to the U.N. Security Council that the documents were “in fact not authentic”.
In June and July, British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw testified that the claim in the dossier rested on separate evidence to the fraudulent documents, and that this specific intelligence, obtained from a foreign government, was still under review and had not been shared with the CIA.
In written evidence to the same committee, Straw further disclosed that the separate intelligence information upon which the British Government had based its conclusion, was also briefed to the IAEA by a foreign intelligence service that owned the reporting, shortly before IAEA Director General Dr.Mohamed ElBaradei’s statement to the UN Security Council on March 7, 2003.
This was further confirmed in a Parliamentary answer to Lynne Jones MP. Lynne Jones subsequently contacted the IAEA to question whether a third party had discussed or shared separate intelligence with them and, if so, what assessment they made of it. IAEA spokesman Mark Gwozdecky responded to Jones in May 2004:
I can confirm to you that we have received information from a number of member states regarding the allegation that Iraq sought to acquire uranium from Niger. However, we have learned nothing which would cause us to change the conclusion we reported to the United Nations Security Council on March 7, 2003 with regards to the documents assessed to be forgeries and have not received any information that would appear to be based on anything other than those documents.
We conclude that it is very odd indeed that the Government asserts that it was not relying on the evidence which has since been shown to have been forged, but that eight months later it is still reviewing the other evidence. The assertion “… that Iraq sought the supply of significant amounts of uranium from Africa …” should have been qualified to reflect the uncertainty
The 16 words that Condi said were based on a forgery and were “mistaken” had to be talking about the forgery.
DR. RICE: The president quoted a British paper. We did not know at the time, no one knew at the time in our circles—maybe someone knew down in the bowels of the agency, but no one in our circles knew—that there were doubts and suspicions that this might be a forgery. Of course, it was information that was mistaken.
Another post having nothing to do with the IRS scandal. I guess I would not want to talk about that either if I was an Obama supporter.
That famous neocon Chris Hitchens addresses the forgery nonsense better than I could even if I had the slightest desire to argue with someone with your stubborn resistance to information that conflicts with your preconceived notions. This is my last post on the topic, so shout “forgery” to your heart’s content.

That famous neocon Chris Hitchens
—–
In a 2010 BBC interview, he stated that he was “still a Marxist”
Got any other bright lights in your bag of tricks, dumbass?
Yes I do – sarcasm. You might want to read up on it when you are finishing your Bible research. The whole reason I used Hitchens as a reference to rebut your yellow cake delusion is that he cannot be dismissed as some Haliburton stock owning neocon.
DR. RICE: The president quoted a British paper. We did not know at the time, no one knew at the time in our circles—maybe someone knew down in the bowels of the agency, but no one in our circles knew—that there were doubts and suspicions that this might be a forgery. Of course, it was information that was mistaken.
MR. RUSSERT: But when you say that no one in our circles, and it was maybe down in the bowels of the Intelligence Agency, a month after that appearance, you said this, “The CIA cleared the speech in its entirety.”
And then your top deputy, Stephen Hadley, on July 23, said this.
“Deputy National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley told reporters that he received two memos from the CIA in October that cast doubt on intelligence reports that Iraq had sought to buy uranium from Niger to use in developing nuclear weapons. Both memos were also sent to chief speechwriter Michael Gerson and one was sent to national security adviser, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Hadley said.”
And George Tenet called Mr. Hadley directly and put—issued a warning on that information. Were you aware of any concerns by the CIA about this incident?
DR. RICE: First of all, the CIA did clear the speech in its entirety and George Tenet has said that. He’s also said that he believes that it should not have been cleared. And we apparently, with the—in October for the Cincinnati speech, not for the State of the Union, but the Cincinnati speech, George Tenet asked that this be taken out of the Cincinnati speech, the reference to yellow cake. It was taken out of the Cincinnati speech because whenever the director of Central Intelligence wants something out, it’s gone.
MR. RUSSERT: How’d it get back in?
DR. RICE: It’s not a matter of getting back in. It’s a matter, Tim, that three-plus months later, people didn’t remember that George Tenet had asked that it be taken out of the Cincinnati speech and then it was cleared by the agency. I didn’t remember. Steve Hadley didn’t remember. We are trying to put now in place methods so you don’t have to be dependent on people’s memories for something like that.
MR. RUSSERT: Did you ever read the memo that I referenced?
DR. RICE: I don’t remember the memo. It came after it had been taken out of the speech, and so it’s quite possible that I didn’t. But let me be very clear: This shouldn’t happen to the president of the United States, and we will do everything that we can to make sure that it doesn’t happen again.

Well, one in three Americans believe the earth is 6,000 years old.
We’re winning! it was 1 in 5 a decade ago!
I believe in neither Evolution or Creationism and I really don’t care if you think I’m dumb.
How on earth could the Government think that? We resemble that remark!
We in South Carolina are permitting Hugh Leatherman, Glenn McConnell, Bobby Harrell and Jean Toal to run our state government. Who are we calling stupid?
I mean seriously, who out there believes that all these e-mails were saved on a single computer?
… the ubiquitous cloud?
No…Democrats think YOU are Stupid. And if you are one of their voters, or FITS, you are a F*#king Idiot…
FITS never fails to work in an attack on the GOP, whole his lod-gods, the democrat are Screwing the American people…
Republicans could NEVER get away with one-tenth the S#!* democrats and Obama get away with. And half the Time Ignorant F*#ks like FITS blame Republicans, or you are so F*#king Stupid, you grin and pat the democrats on the back, while you kiss their @$$…
With Dumb@$$#$ like FITS (attempting to) informing us…no F*#king wonder people are so oblivious…
Oh my!!!! One of your Top 5. Smirks just wet his panties and TGB shit his diapers.LMAO!!
Someone’s got some pretty disturbing fetishes.

To be fair, I do think GrandTango is stupid, but, I mean, who doesn’t?
Me.
I refuse to compliment a person who doesn’t deserve it!
Your government thinks you’re stupid…
Well, I guess the feeling is mutual, then.
MPAI
‘Bout time the government got something right.
It is not that the American are stupid. It is the consequences of the acknowledging the truth that is the problem. If Obama instructed or knew that the IRS was targeting Tea-Party groups, then that would be an impeachable offence.
The American people wound rather pretend it hasn’t happened than impeach the first black president. Besides, who wants to see Biden president?
Under normal circumstances, about the only thing that could explain the multiple hard drive failures resulting in unreadable disks are head crashes due to manufacturing defects. The email chain floating around on the news sites references bad sectors, which would show up after a head crash. That would explain why the techs couldn’t recover the drive, head crashes do physical damage to the disk and the data affected is essentially unrecoverable. (Worse, often times the debris created from a head crash causes more physical damage to the drive to pile up until it is pretty much toast.)
The only way the coincidence could be explained is if the hard drives in question came out of the same batch, as they could all be affected by the same manufacturing flaw. Basically, any drive from when the flaw was introduced to the process, to when it was found and fixed would be suspect. The manufacturer likely wouldn’t trash them as long as they pass a quick test before being packaged up.
They would basically have to say “we bought these and a bunch of other computers/parts at the same time, here’s the PO/contract/whatever” or something like that to really use this excuse, though, and really, it wouldn’t matter. It’s an oddity that under the circumstances does warrant suspicion. Head crashes can be caused by a manufacturing defect just as much as they can be caused by smacking it with a blunt object ten or twenty times while it’s running. Or, hell, the drive’s likely been physically destroyed by now, some fuck could have just claimed that was the issue under instruction from a higher up thinking “it’s just a few drives, I don’t wanna lose my job.”
TL;DR: inb4 someone doesn’t read the last part of my post and thinks I’m excusing whoever. Investigation is absolutely warranted.
Hi.
I’m Rosemary Woods from IT…..
I’ve been through the evelyn woodhead sped reading course, and ah red the hole congressional record… spell checker don’t fell me know!
Bullshit! Regardless of whether Lois Learner’s IRS computer crashed, the IRS, as the large agency that it is, operates and maintains its own mail servers. Learner’s emails could be retrieved from their mail server. Trust me, that mail server is backed up as well as other critical computer systems operated by the IRS.
That “Dog Ate my Email” excuse is lamer than the willful destruction of computer hard drives that outgoing Arkansas governot, Mike Huckabee, ordered for his agency’s computers and servers. Those servers and computers are the property of the State of Arkansas.

They could just ask the NSA. They have all the master copies.
I wonder if there would only be 26 comments if this were Bush’s administration and not Obama’s?
We all know Bush would have been impeached by now, but to impeach Obama is to practice racism.
If the government thinks that, they’re smarter than they look.
The idiots that voted Obama in couldn’t care less about this, it’s a fake scandal right?
Let’s ask Snowden to let us peak at his copies.
LOL……..scandal..?
Yep…..while Wil Folks winks about IRS email “snapchats”……….he fails to see his own SCANDAL in his own website comment section…!!!
ROFL……!!!
Your government thinks right! If I woke up next to that bitch I’d chew my arm off then get every shot the ER had to give. God what a freak!
Who wouldn’t think most Americans are stupid. 52% “low-information-voters” elected & re-elected a Kenyan POS to be their president!
