LIBERTARIAN GUBERNATORIAL NOMINEE WANTS TO HIGHLIGHT REAL SPENDING CUTS

S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s failure to protect taxpayers hit a new “low” this week when she issued only $18.5 million worth of budget vetoes … out of a $25.1 billion spending plan.

That’s less than one-tenth of one percent …

Steve French, the Libertarian Party’s gubernatorial nominee, expressed his frustration with Haley’s anemic vetoes – referring to them collectively (and correctly) as a “joke.” Sources close to his campaign tell FITS he plans on taking things a step further, though.

In an effort to provide voters with a contrast to Haley’s status quo rubber-stamping (and generate a little free media for his insurgent gubernatorial bid), French’s campaign says he will be rolling out a list of spending items he would have cut from the state budget.

Sort of an “alternative veto message.”

We like it …

In fact that’s just the sort of clever thinking that could make French the first credible third party statewide candidate South Carolina has seen in some time – assuming he makes good on the concept.

Anyway, we’ll be sure to bring our readers French’s “veto message” as soon as we receive it …

Maybe if he’d present his message while juggling running chainsaws and live cats and riding a unicycle across the Gervais street bridge while balanced on the handrail he’d get some attention – or at least a viral video on Facebook….

French should study the David Brat campaign. ….. let his wife do the acrobatics.

That’s exactly the point. He’ll send out a”press release”, make a post on Facebook… What he ought to do is make a couple of giant charts of the budget showing what she did and what he’d do. Then he should take to the State House steps and engage in a debate with a cutout Nikki (after making a big deal of inviting her to a debate). It’s pure theater but it will get him noticed on a slow news day.

Yeah: FITS is a F*#kin’ Genius. Look what he did for Nancy Mace’s political career and RonPaul’s presidential hopes.

I bet French is about to S#!t all over himself, in anticipation of FITS’ endorsement.

I VETO all Liberal-Tarians. They are immature, and not emotionally, intellectually or practically fit to lead anything, other than the other 3% of Dumb@$$#$ who are as foolhardy as them…

French wants to legalize drugs. Even the democrats are smart enough to reject Stupid ideas that would lead to a more doped-up society. We have enough Bran-Dead voting now (see Obama)…

STFU, French, and go back in your hole. You are a sideshow at best…or make that Freak Show.

Yea but if they are doped up they might be happy to sit at home and eat Doritos on Election Day.

Drugs might as well be legal now. Anyone can get anything they want easily. Drugs are cheaper and more potent than they were 20-30 years ago. All the drug prohibition does is make society spend money on law enforcement and incarceration for addicts, and it creates a crime ridden black market. To top it all off drug investigations are a top excuse used by the government to violate our privacy and constitutional rights.
