REAL? OR HOLLOW?
To read the mainstream media accounts, U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (RINO-S.C.) is surging into November’s general election after “easily” claiming the GOP nomination for a third term in the U.S. Senate.
Oh … and the mainstream media didn’t bother to mention Graham’s likely third party challenger, Lowcountry businessman and reality TV star Thomas Ravenel.
True, Graham finished exactly where the polls said he would – at 56 percent of the “Republican” primary vote.
But is that “victory” as compelling as the establishment-friendly legacy press would have you believe?
“Graham spent $4 million and had a gaggle of opponents who together barely raised and spent $1 million,” one veteran Washington, D.C. consultant told FITS. ” He had virtually the entire state GOP establish shilling for him and yet all he could get was 170,000 votes. It shows a weakness that is breathtaking.”
The consultant added that historically low GOP turnout in this year’s primary shows a voting public that is “isolated and alienated.”
“They are open to a third way,” the consultant said.
With his good looks, limitless resources, pre-existing statewide name recognition and mile-wide libertarian streak, can Ravenel emerge as that “third way?”
Graham advisors moved quickly to answer that question with an emphatic “no.”
“He showed his ass – literally and in every other way imaginable – on a weekly basis on national television,” one Graham advisor told FITS. “Thomas Ravenel is an embarrassment to South Carolina.”
Graham’s problem? There are bound to be plenty of female voters who liked Ravenel’s backside … not to mention plenty of male and female voters who appreciate his fiscal conservatism. And unlike the “gaggle” of low-budget primary opponents Graham faced, Ravenel can go toe-to-toe with Graham on what is presumed to be his strongest issue – foreign policy.
Add it all up and Ravenel has the potential to be a very credible third party challenger. That’s why Graham’s campaign is already devoting extensive resources toward combatting his bid – conducting push polling against Ravenel and preparing a team of attorneys to challenge any signatures that may be submitted on his behalf to the S.C. Election Commission.
Graham’s consultants are also pushing the narrative that Ravenel’s presumptive candidacy is a personal vendetta – retribution for Graham’s alleged involvement in facilitating the 2007 drug bust that brought Ravenel down at a time when he appeared poised to defeat Graham in a race for the U.S. Senate.

Jesus, FITS, have you already done a line this early in the morning?
I understand, though, got to keep those checks coming.
“With his good looks, limitless resources, pre-existing statewide name recognition and mile-wide libertarian streak”
You forgot to mention the cocaine habit, the bastard child, and the skank girlfriend.
Forget about T-Rav – rumor has it that Lee Bright is considering running as an Independent seeing as how he found 50,000 idiots to vote for him in the Primary. (I consider that the most shocking result of the day . . .) While watching that Republican Senatorial Candidate debate on PBS last week the only thought that kept running over and over in my mind was ‘Please tell me that this damn thing is not televised outside of the state. . . “
Not that shocking, really, when you break it down by county. I haven’t really examined it yet, but I believe that the bulk of his support was centered heavily in one or two upstate counties- I think he lost most of the others pretty hard.
If his resources were really limitless, he’d have gotten back into some public office of some kind by now.
The coke habit should be no big deal, since everybody knows it is rampant in elite GOP circles, even today. Oh, yeah, that’s right. He got caught. Wow, that that really sucks for him.
… which leads me to the skank girlfriend. Let’s face, it, she’s hot as hell. And I won’t even pretend that even though I’m even more too old for her than he is, I’m kinda jealous.
SC Electorate = Fucktards
Isn’t Will providing campaign support and advice to T-Rav? I don’t quite understand why all the upbeat fucktardiness he’s reporting on how T-Rav even has a chance. At this point Alvin Greene would stand a better chance than T-Rav.
I think I’d vote for Alvin Greene before I’d vote for pretty boy Ravenel and I worked on a couple of his daddy’s campaigns – “…Criminals beware of Arthur Ravenel!…”
Well, I’m sure by the end of all of this, Alvin Greene will have fared better against DeMint than T-Rav against Graham. I can only hope it is a wrecking ball to his ego.
One thing we can all agree on, Jim DeMint started the recession.
He’s morally indefensible – he favors a woman’s life over the life of a fetus… God punished us for electing him despite this immorality.
Bejeebus- I cannot believe anyone thinks Ravenel has a snowballs chance in he**. He’s an excon who knocked some ditz barely out of her teens and is on the gay mans version of Real World. And that will attract voters to the right of Graham?
I thought T-Rav renounced his U.S. Citizenship…
https://www.fitsnews.com/2011/10/28/thomas-ravenel-renounces-his-citizenship/
I think what T-Rav does mostly is run his mouth.
He may have renounced his renouncing of his citizenship when he figured out no other country wants his ass.
“pre-existing statewide name recognition” Sic Willie is right on this one. Every law enforcement agency is well acquainted with T. Ravenel.
Virginia got it right and booted Cantor…SC can’t clean the dogsh*t off its own shoe…
Graham back in the Senate, Slimehouse back in and who the hell thinks Glenn McConnell can run COC?
Good God?
Eventually the poo scrapes off by itself, that’s when we find a new turd to step in.
Virginia will be lost to the Demoturds, hardly a win.
Traffic Cop Jim Matthews back in as KC Sheriff.
There was a little good news. Curtis Loftis is still going to be SC Treasurer.
Tim Scott held his position. LexCo got rid or one person who apparently has sided with the MOAR, MOAR, MOAR, Taxes, people and Bill Banning is going to go into the runoff with a poor showing. Let’s hope BIll is a private citizen when this is over. Now, if we could get rid of Johnny Jeffcoat and Debbie Summers when their time at bat comes…
Is that your real name or did you just misspell Thomas Paine’s name? Since it appears you are a Tea Partier. I guessing the latter.
sorry, I’m guessing the latter.
“…Oh … and the mainstream media didn’t bother to mention Graham’s likely third party challenger, Lowcountry businessman and reality TV star Thomas Ravenel….”
(finishing the thought) mostly because:
a – he won’t actually run
b – he hasn’t a snowball’s chance in hell of winning
and
c – no one but South Carolinians who follow politics and the trailer trash who watch the Bravo Chanel have any idea who the cocaine distributing, FEC rule violating, baby daddy is .
b – he hasn’t a snowball’s chance in hell of winning
You shoulda said “an eightball’s chance in Hell of winning”…
c – no one but South Carolinians who follow politics and the trailer trash who watch the Bravo Chanel have any idea who the cocaine distributing, FEC rule violating, baby daddy is .
Shhhhhhhh…… Colonel…..
That’s T-Rav’s strategy. His last name is “Ravenel” and he’s got Go Fast Boatloads er…boatloads of money.
Still snickering….
Ms. Lindsey just got the endorsement he needed to justify his war mongering & big spending, from Republicans no less….LMAO!
What other choices were there, you have flaming liberal Lindsey and a bunch of fucktards who couldn’t be left alone to manage a high school bake sale.
I’ll take the fucktards over Lindsey. Hell, given a choice between Idi Amin or Fidel Castro and Lindsey, I would take either over Lindsey. Seriously, they couldn’t do this country as much harm as Lindsey will.
That’s precisely my point. Go shopping, wash your car, do anything but encourage the bastards by voting.
Amen, Squishy
Graham sees your vapid female skank voters and raises you his closeted gay male voters.
“Republicans” will be “victorious” over this washed up hack in November. You can put quotes over whatever you want but it doesn’t erase reality, bro.
*From some of the pics that FITS has posted of T-Rav, TBG suspects that T-Rav might have his own cache of “closeted gay male voters.”*
He IS kind of cute . . . for a Republican anyway . . . .and he did flash a nudie ass shot in the shower on one of the first episodes of Southern Charm.
What do women see in a man’s ass, anyway?
Doo doo…
Judging by what I see attractive women with , I’d say assholes.
Well, that too. I concur. Very true statement.
I always liked the opening line of that old Joe Jackson song from the 80’s that went something like, “Pretty women walking with gorillas down my street…”
There’s a reason some women insist on tossing the salad before they eat.
…vapid female skank voters
Now that’s an electorate TBG could get behind!
*Does Groucho Marx thing with eyebrows*
*honk* *honk*
The road signs are there to direct you, they all look like tramp stamps.
:)
I hope Lindsey is paying attention to Cantor’s defeat, there are a few lessons to be learned there. While I firmly believe he will win in November going away (58% or better) if he just stays “status quo” he could make it a real landside by:
1. Dropping his stupid amnesty ideas and coming out with a position that affirms the need for border control and establishes an effective plan – get away and stay away from McCain, he’s senile and stupid.
2. Burning his copy of Team America World Police. Lindsey, it was meant to be a spoof, not a road map.
3. Remember that every dime we spend for “this” means that we can’t spend it for “that” unless we borrow and we’re all tired of you spending for “this and that and borrowing”. Make some hard choices you fricking reed in the wind.
I’ve read every election summary I can find – where are the reports of widespread voter disenfranchisement? Oh the humanity, we had to show a picture ID to vote and all of us were disenfranchised! Wait, what, we weren’t? And Black people and White people got to go to the polls and vote together? Really?
It’s sad that racism has turned into the red herring of the liberal camp. Legitimate racism is happening all around, and they’re still crying about being disenfranchised by the new photo ID law.
White Republican Males discussing and deciding racism – priceless.
Exactly – and thank god now all of those zillions of folks committing voter fraud in every election as proven by all of the cases that have been discovered and prosecuted will be out of luck! Don’t you love it how the Republicans spend all of their time and effort addressing the real problems facing our country!
I really love how dimocrats spend all there time on critical issues like
LOL I sure got to keep mine. And got expanded coverage too. Got anything else?
So you’re one of the
sixfivefour million who have signed up. Have you actually paid your premium or are you one of the thirty percent who hasn’t quite got around to it? (Or the 400,000 whose records they can’t quite find). What was the plan originally supposed to cover, oh yeah 30,000,000 uninsured Americans what has it mostly done is just shuffle people who already had insurance (like you) around.LOL For someone who posts with such authority and fancies himself to be an authority on every subject you sure are ignorant of the facts. You know about as much about the voter id laws as you do about the ACA which is about diddly squat . . .
No sah Massu Blue, I don’t know nuttin bout that…
However you flaming sycophant lets look at the facts:
According to The New York Times, at least 20% of those never paid their premiums to activate coverage, leaving them uninsured. That drops the number down to 4.8 million.
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/14/us/politics/one-in-5-buyers-of-insurance-under-new-law-did-not-pay-premiums-on-time.html?partner=rss&emc=rss&_r=2
“Only 53 percent of them had paid their first premium, compared with 86 percent of the previously insured,”
http://www.cnbc.com/id/101512883
The Obama administration has touted a recent Gallup poll that found the rate of uninsured Americans dropping to 15.2 percent in February—the lowest rate since 2008.
But McKinsey, a leading management consulting firm, polled about 2,100 exchange-eligible Americans in February, and found only 27 percent of people who had picked a plan were previously uninsured. Only 53 percent of them had paid their first premium, compared with 86 percent of the previously insured. With 5 million total enrollments, that would be about
715,500 previously uninsured Americans who had chosen and paid for new insurance.
http://healthcare.mckinsey.com/individual-market-enrollment-updated-view
Feel free to believe what you want but the facts don’t support your beliefs. Now, please provide just one genuine example of a voter disenfranchisement due to voter ID laws.
LOL Calm down now THE Colonel – you’re gonna blow something!
Just did, it was Obama’s foreign policy plan. After I wiped good and flushed I felt a lot better…
LOL I sure got to keep mine. And got expanded coverage too. Got anything else?
“Me…me…me…”
“Mine…mine…mine….”
enlightened self interest?
Excellent rejoinder!
You could have added something in there about blind, barefoot and pregnant to sweeten the “pot.”
Where are the reports of WIDESPREAD VOTER FRAUD???
Hilarious!! 1) your “endorsement” of Mace, it is now clear, was really a public statement of excuse saying that she was too busy raising her kids to really try to win the race, knowing that she would get walloped. Understandable. However, getting trounced by Lee Bright is just shameful.
2)Now, without a day passing you are trying to convince your readers that T. Ravenel is a serious contender. That boy can not get elected to county council he has so much baggage.
I am truly beginning to enjoy watching you make a fool of yourself by, as you put it “schiling” for him.
Here is a challenge for you. Please name a US Senator who got elected after having a cocaine related conviction. Surely there are a couple out there so share that with your readers because if T-Ravenel gets elected that would be the true historical aspect of this drama. If you dare take this challenge please leave out Mayors, etc and stick to the US Senate.
I loathe Bright as a politician but your reasoning for discrediting his candidacy is his personal /business financial failings. You love his voting record. Can you say with a straight face that a convicted drug felon is a better candidate than a failed business person? The last time I checked “bankruptcy” is the legal way out.
I’m hoping that Nancy Mace will now take me off her campaign email list especially since I never gave her my email address to begin with . . .
She’s got to delete the other eight email addresses first.
I don’t know about the other eight folks but now I feel really badly about what I posted earlier as I just discovered an email from Nancy (I guess we are on a first name basis now) in my Junk Mail folder with “Thank You” in the subject line and talking about “our journey” (not sure where we went?) and her being “proud to stand along side me” (never even knew she was there!) – really brought tears to my eyes. You are welcome, Nancy (although I am not exactly sure what I am being thanked for other than perhaps being a recipient of her emails). And please accept my apologies for earlier wishing you would stop emailing me – go ahead and keep them coming – and it does not matter how you obtained my email address anyway. You are welcome, Nancy!
Ask her to send you pics of her boobies and then tell her she can stand by you anytime…
talking about “our journey” (not sure where we went?) and her being “proud to stand along side me” (never even knew she was there!) – really brought tears to my eyes.
You probably noticed, that when times were REALLY tough…there was only ONE set of footprints….
Lee Bright took me off his mailing list after taking my business advice a couple of times.
Can you say with a straight face that a convicted drug felon is a better candidate than a failed business person?
TBG can.
Absolutely.*
*In certain cases.
No idea if this is one of them.
Either would be way preferable to Lindsey Graham.
Can you say with a straight face that a convicted drug felon is a better candidate than a failed business person?
Are you kidding? OF COURSE!! … are you mad??
Giving big lip
to Ravenel dick
has got to be sweet
if you like a creep
pretending to be sweet
He don’t fool me
he’s a jerk, you see.
The guise is false
’cause the guy is false
Thomas Ravenal.
Has no one forgot him?
He’s got “Cato Society”, gals,
Tattooed on his bottom.
Dare I mention,
That’s quite enough
To attract the attention
Of Lindsay and team.
Admittedly, it’s not as buff
As the bottom of Ricky Martin,
But at least it ain’t fartin’
From eating beans.
T-Rav may be workin’ the whimsy
Of “Southern Charm”.
But little Lindsey?
His reality show is known as
“Southern Harm.”
If they can’t turn out on primary day – how are they going to turn out to swing the Senate. Seems to me the entire 2014 cycle (outside of the Can-mor’s loss) is headed to a big Yawn!!!
sec(k) willie needs to take notice. S.C. voters have taken notice.
Voters in S.C. have sent the Teabuggers a landslide message.
Teabuggers are loud but toothless. Like a phart.
They think they are important, but that’s a spelling error.
The correct spelling: impotent.
As for T Rav? What a joke(r)!
He blew (okay, okay: snorted) away his chance to be a factor in S.C. politics.
Now, he just needs to get to bed early, check his crab pots, keep plenty of clean diapers available (for the baby and his Terabugger outbursts) and (most of all) quit dreaming that anyone is S.C. cares what he thinks.
Tell T. Rav. to run for School Board and work his way up.

If Thomas is running to get even with Graham…I like it..could help Hutto beat Graham. I would rather see a Sen Hutto in the NORAD bunker if SHTF than a Sen Graham…Hutto’s gene pool IS worth saving much more than Graham’s. (cynicism::off)
Only way Graham’s gene pool is going to go on is if someone sticks a turkey baster in his partner’s ass and transfers the contents to a fertile woman’s vagina quickly.
Here is the real reason Sen Graham won Tuesday. The “margins of victory” for Sen Graham was provided by state workers on the promise their gratuitously subsidized state healthcare plans will continue unadulterated. This bill is the reason why legislators are going ahead with breathtaking tax increases to fund the cost increases to their state healthcare plans which will now include their children to age 26. Folks, taxpayers are the ones with “stupid” written on their foreheads and “kick me” placards taped on their backsides.
There probably ain’t a single state worker that is aware of that bill. The reason that Graham was elected is because nearly 60% of the people that bothered to vote had no legitimate candidate to vote for other than Graham. At some point your platform needs to be more than “I’m not Lindsey”.
Au Contraire (that is French for “reach around), think about a whisper campaign to support Sen Graham after he promised everything except the Sun to get reelected.
You certainly will not see news of this bill in our newspapers or TV news affiliates. In fact, the Midlands has the worst newspaper, The State, and zero interest by the alphabet TV newscasters (and station managers) to report ANY politically related news story that casts a negative light on politicians. (forget investigative news gathering that concept died when affiliate station corporations began offering a very comfortable life pension and subsidized healthcare for 20-25 years service)
I saw this list under bills SC State Senator Shealy (District 23) is co-sponsoring. This bill effectively exempts our state/public worker subsidized healthcare plans from the ’employer mandates’ and ‘hours worked to not qualify (under 30)’ to name a few. Why? Because SC’s argument is they amended the state constitution to forever stay on the tax payers backs for the few at the expense of the many?
If SC Sen Shealy is co-sponsoring a bill to tell the US Senate to vote on and pass this bill, who doesn’t know? Law enforcement agencies statewide? The SCNG? Teachers statewide? Maybe the guys who clean our green walkways and trails did not know. They Know!
You do know that this particular bill (S.1077) is languishing in a Senate committee after being introduced in March, and that the legislature has left the building, and being the second year of a two year session, this bill is dead.
Oh, and a great number of people elected Alvin Green since A came before V (Vic Rawl) on the ballot, and you expect me to think that the general public is aware of a bill introduced last November in the US Senate and another meaningless and dead bill in the SC Senate is well known. Puhleaze….
SC’s bill begs the US Senate to pass the bill Mulvaney sponsored and Graham is co-sponsoring. The bill that would exempt SC is in D.C., not Columbia. All Graham has to do is get the
State Health Care Choice Act added to a giant bill such as Immigration Reform or a budget bill.
This is what you sent back in for six years. Thanks a lot, bunch of dumb shits…
http://www.wltx.com/story/news/local/2014/06/11/lindsey-graham-immigration-reform/10333641/
The 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act, a.k.a. The Simpson-Mazzoli Act is failing because no one is enforcing the law!
Enforce the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act, a.k.a. The Simpson-Mazzoli Act…FIRST….NOW…and drop this talk about another amnesty kickback.
Not one candidate even mentioned the 1986 Act not being enforced. Mace came close.
Hell the other people running screwed it all up. They should have looked at the polls and let the best contender go head to head with Graham. Lee Bright had the best chance as he consistently had 17% avg in the polls. Cash, Mace, Conner and Bowers should be ashamed of themselves. Hell I would have voted for any one of them if there had only been one of them there would have at least been a chance. Either way welcome to another term of Lindsey’s BS, lying and scheming…
That does not really make any sense. If everyone except Bright had dropped out and all the people who voted for all of the people running against Graham had voted for Bright, the result would have been the same. I am actually pretty sure the percentage of people voting for Graham would have gone up, because surely some of the people who voted for one of the other contenders would have preferred Graham over that nut Bright.
Lets just face it. The people running against Graham were a bunch of nuts who nobody really gave a crap about voting for. So by default Graham won.
Probably, didn’t really make much difference. Most of the votes were of the “anyone but Graham” variety as oppossed to the “I’d really, REALLY like for ________ to be our next Senator.
Grand Tango could get 40% against Graham without campaigning.*
*If he campaigned, it would drop to 38-39%.
**If he actually spoke it might drop to 10-12%
*would it be sounding brass, or tinkling symbols?
WOW, more of the same in SC. Get the paycheck ready !
All this shit is giving me hemmorhoids.
Can we have the soft-core porn back now?
