POLITICIAN HOPES TO “SACRIFICE” FOR “THE PEOPLE …”

The 2014 gubernatorial election in South Carolina has only started to heat up just recently, but S.C. Rep. Tommy Pope – a “Republican” from Rock Hill, S.C. – is already eyeing the next race.

Pope – a former solicitor – told WRHI AM 1340 that he wants to be the Republican gubernatorial nominee in 2018. In fact he’s already posting “Pope for Governor” logos on his Facebook page … sort of the political equivalent of a premature … ehh … hmmmm … nevermind.

“What I hope to bring more than anything (to the race) is caring about issues bigger than ourselves,” Pope told the station. “I love this state, I love the people, I love our natural resources. If the voters are willing at that time, it would be an honor. It would be a sacrifice for the Pope family but it’d be an honor.”

Great … another politician who’ll “sacrifice” for the “honor” of “caring” for “the people.”

Seriously … that’s like the grand slam of self-important cliche-pandering.

Pope would enter the race as a second tier candidate …

The top tier? As of this writing, U.S. Rep. Mick Mulvaney, S.C. Sen. Tom Davis, lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Henry McMaster and S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) director Catherine Templeton are the names we hear mentioned most often.

Templeton’s association with Haley is her political death blow.

In other words, I want to be Governor but didn’t have the balls to run against Haley in the Primary? Fuck this clown.
And if Templeton is on the “top tier”, then so are the other 4,600,000 or so residents of this state. Only Big T is on tier 2. And maybe Lee Bright and Robert Ford.

He is as dirty as any former or acting solicitor in this state; just look at the pig meat in his hand. Don’t forget to use the TorBrowser, hides your IP from those who pay Sic; keep your job folks, get it?, Folks. he he he

Mick will not run. Why would he? He has a great gubment job and that is all he knows how to do. If he were Governor, he could only live on the backs of the taxpayers for eight years. Were he is he can live on the back of the taxpayers forever. I predict he will not make the Sanford mistake. Sanford left his cushy high paying federal gubment job for a state gubment job. Then found out he had no source of income when that was over and had run to get back his federal gubment job.

These takers are really a piece of work. How much money has Mick sucked from the the taxpayers over the last 4 years? About a $600,000 bucks. . And how much money have the taxpayers shelled out to support Sanford over the past 20 years? Millions. All for nothing. Such a waste of money. Such worthless takers. Why don’t they get a real job?

This. He has four years left to govern, and he is running for a statewide office. The same statewide office in which we haven’t chosen who will lead for the next four years. My mind is blown. What the fuck is the matter with these people??

Also, Henry McMaster? Fucking again? When is that douchebag going to quit running for shit? He needs to be running the dominos board at Still Hopes, not for statewide office, yet again. And Will, your boy Tom Davis is too busy carrying on conversations with the voices in his head to talk to actual voters, and Mick Mulvaney does not meet the height requirement for statewide office.

Let’s just say fuck it, and bring in some private vendor to run South Carolina. Wait, we’ve got that in BCBS, AT&T, SC Chamber and that bald-headed clown, Lewis Gossett.

Probably should throw Curtis Loftis into the mix. He’s a great leader, visionary, office manager, bugman and giver of reach-arounds (question mark).

Well……we can obviously tell right of the bat that the “Pope of the Carolinas” doesn’t seem to be able to get voters to crack a smile…!!!

He needs to take a clue from Al Franken……..

His whole campaign should be tied in with the game “Halo”….!!!

Tommy Pope is super smart and charismatic. You’re going to eat these words, Will.

Given the crappy slate voters have to choose from for Lt. Governor this election, I don’t think it is a bad idea for Pope to announce now.

It’s obvious you have never met Tommy Pope. He is incredibly sharp and capable person. You might want to get off your ass and get to know him because I guarantee you he WILL be the Governor in 2018. Underestimating this guy is a huge mistake. And, as a side note, you don’t think it’s a sacrifice to a politician’s family when a husband or father or mother, etc., runs for and wins a major office? Really? Don’t be such an ass Will.

Yep, being elected to a major office will sacrafice your family alright!
Mark Sanford sacraficed his family and threw Maria’s into the sewer!
Richard Eckstrom sacraficed his for kelly and her name and reputation.
Bob Peeler sacraficed/trashed his and Donna’s children and reputations!
Nikki haley made a great run at sacraficing her’s; but, Folks and Larry ran!
Bob Harrell is still sacraficing his family and associates.
Ken Ard was successful in sacraficing/trashing his.
T-Rav will sacrafice that new baby, has already ruined the Dennis girl.
Yep, a whole lot of sacrafice going on!

I saw Tommy in a commercial for his law firm on a local television station. He was standing in front of the courthouse and an ambulance whizzed by. He made some tongue in cheek remarks about ambulance chasers. That commercial will get played over and over by whoever runs against him in the primary. I looked for it online, but I couldn’t find it. I’m sure his opponents will, though.

Nothing says good ole boy like a grown man running for office going by the juvenile name of Tommy. Couldn’t even muster a simple and more dignified Tom, much less Thomas. For someone with zero state wide recognition, he does not present a professional first impression. Same goes for Bobby.

He should consider removing the sign behind him. If he supports the sign, I don’t support him.
