“REPUBLICAN” VOTERS COULD NOMINATE A LIBERAL ON THE FIRST BALLOT
Liberal U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (RINO-S.C.) has done everything within his power to alienate Republican primary voters in “conservative” South Carolina – supporting far left Supreme Court justices, backing multiple tax hikes and shamelessly shilling for the Obama administration’s domestic spying apparatus.
Among other things …
He should be toast in a GOP primary, in other words … and yet he’s not. In fact Graham may win the GOP nomination outright on June 10 after failing to draw a “big name” challenger in his most vulnerable of primary seasons.
You just gotta love “Republican” voters in the “reddest state in America,” right?
Anyway, multiple sources familiar with various internal campaign tracking polls tell us Graham is at or above the 50 percent threshold he must hit on June 10 in order to avoid a runoff election. Should Graham fail to hit 50 percent, he would square off against his top-performing GOP challenger on June 24.
That’s potentially a “danger zone” for Graham – but his massive cash advantage and the condensed two-week time frame of a runoff election both work in his favor (making it difficult for a prospective opponent to raise additional money and mobilize campaign resources). This website has argued in favor of extending the runoff period, but that’s unlikely to happen anytime soon – and it obviously isn’t going to happen during this election cycle.
In other words even if Graham draws an electable Republican in a runoff election (and as far as we can tell Charleston businesswoman Nancy Mace is the only Graham challenger fitting that description), he would still be an overwhelming favorite to win the nomination.
Crazy, isn’t it?
South Carolina “Republicans” – who love to brag about their conservative bona fides – appear to be mere weeks away from nominating the single most liberal “Republican” in the U.S. Congress to another six-year term in the U.S. Senate.
In addition to Mace – who says she’s in second place in the race – Graham is facing Columbia, S.C. pastor Det Bowers, S.C. Sen. Lee Bright (R-Spartanburg), Upstate businessman Richard Cash and Afghan War veteran Bill Connor in the June 10 primary.

And, just like that, 4 posts!!!
*ODs*
Who gives a shit? Graham will win in November. He is a social conservative, strongly pro-life and fought the ACA.
Great story by AP reporter Kelli Kennedy today that breaks down how millions are losing the doctors they like and how many physicians are not even participating in health plans.
Obama’s heath care law will defeat the Democrat Party for a generation.
Oh.Bright will get 15%-Mace 10%-Tom Ervin 10% (Ervin is going to run in every congressional race in SC to try and get to 50%. :-)
And a darn good dresser.
Is he strongly pro-life? Can you name one thing he has achieved to advance the cause? If he is strongly pro-life he is terribly ineffective. His pro-life stance was surely shown when he broke with other pro-life Republicans and voted for the appointment of two pro-abortion activist judges.
Did he fight the ACA? Where is the evidence other than his campaign ads?
Grahamnesty is toast
shamelessly shilling for the Obama administration’s domestic spying apparatus.

Where do I start? Det Bowers, pastor to the rich and famous, Democrat Party leader, Sen Bright, great state senator, light on foreign policy, Richard Cash, only one string on his guitar, if we stop abortion we cure all the world’s ills, if it were only that simple. Nancy Mace, first woman graduate of the Citadel, and uhhh, and uhhh. Bill Connor, the adult in the room, knowledgeable in govt. operation, military and foreign policy, Would use the enumerated powers of the Constitution to operate only those parts of the govt. listed. Term limits. Military veteran with “boots on the ground’ knowledge of the middle east. Not the dog and pony shows that Graham sees. Win lose or draw RESTORE HONOR VOTE CONNOR.
Conner sounds like a good candidate.Where does he stand on social issues (life issues, gay marriage, repeal of Obamacare)?
Bill Connor served multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan.
Thanks. We have several veterans running for office this year and the vile, filthy, American hating Democratic/Socialist Party are launching vicious attacks about their service to this country.
I still can’t get over the vile conservatives who spit on our troops returning from Vietnam for “losing the war”
Damn.I didn’t know Bill and Hillary were conservatives? The community I lived in was proud of those that served in Vietnam. You are wrong,It was the drug addicted Marxists that became tenured professors at the univerisities that trained Obama to be a ‘closet’ muslim/Marxist and fool middle America that performed those ‘vile’ against those returning from Vietnam. Bill,Hillary and John Kerry were part of that group.
One of my friends father was shot down in Vietnam and MIA. Still have that braclet with his name on it.
Vile liberals maybe but I never met a conservative with anything but praise and gratefulness. Been there done that.
Life begins at conception and ends at natural death.
I don’t know about gay marriage.
Obamacare is un constitutional plain and simple.
Here’s the deal. Sen. Graham actually articulates a position and stands by it. The entire field has done nothing but articulate that they are running against Graham. It’s the dumbest campaign strategy ever. You have to give voters something to vote for.
Problem is, they don’t know what their position is on the range of issue. The are simply running on rage. Voters may have selected a more libertarian leaning conservative, but they won’t elect one that is also not very smart, can’t articulate a position thoughtfully or who focuses on shrinking the party over growing it.
Let’s be honest. Most of the candidates and their following spend more time telling people who doesn’t belong in the party than they do leading or growing the base of voters. It’s asinine.
How about how he voted for cloture on funding Obummerrcare which was the only way we could have stopped it then turning around and voting against it when it didn’t matter. (The cloture vote required 60 votes to end, whereas the final vote was 51 which was all Dim.)
I just wrote about the obsessive focus on the incumbent without providing an alternative plan and you go right back to the same thing.
As for the example, if you are referring to the gov’t shutdown, it was a failed strategy to begin with. Count me as one of the folks who rather enjoy seeing gov’t shutdown, but the Republican party was going to be slaughtered by the public for it. It’s a loser strategy.
There is one way to stop the ACA. Win at the ballot box, use an enormous amount of political capital to overturn the law. No damn gimmicks. And here again, we will need leaders who can articulate a strategy going forward for voters to rally behind. No matter what you think, you have to provide people something you are for.
And grown ups who say things like “Obummercare” scare me. The intellectual weight of it is impressive.
Focusing on Graham and his miss steps are the reason for the primary. He has sold SC down the river on multiple occasions. If you go to billconnor.com you will find his positions on each of the subjects you are interested in.
I was personally at the Tea Party rally in Washington when senators Cruz, Paul and Lee tried to shut down the govt. They knew the liberal media would go crazy but they stood their ground in spite of it. Sometimes you just have to do what is right and let the chips fall where they may.
“And grownups who say things like Obummercare scare me.” Be afraid, be verrrry afraid. LOL
What is the point of having a Senator who is going to vote 50% of his time with the Democrats???? We need someone who is conservative and doesn’t want to give 11,000,000 million people amnesty!!!! I am sick of him….he gets rich while the people end up paying for all the illegal immigrants in the Southern States!!
If they aren’t war-mongering, illegal alien loving, third-world dictator ass licking Lindsey, they cannot help but be an improvement. I don’t know what is so difficult about grasping that.
It seems a majority of voters do not see it your way.
We’ll see after the elections.
He really does an articulate job of sucking cock!
Wow, there are people that still support Grahamnesty? You are embarrassing.
yep
Democrats gain power, and feed their greed, through lies corruptions and dirty tricks.
My guess is: The democrats will vote for Graham in the Primary, and that’s your 50%…..
Democrats have been rendered unfit (and rightly so) to hold statewide office in SC. So they push their ideology within GOP politics…
FITS Is a master of it. FITS is always trumpeting the 3rd party Liberal-Tarians, who is just a plant to split the Republican vote, and put a democrat in office…It worked in Va. so I’m guessing they”ll it run until we stop them.
OPERATION CHAOS : Democrats will vote for a Graham challenger to try and force a runoff to weaken Republicans.
If SC Democrats were 1) organized and 2) strategic, then you would be right. But since they are neither, just as many will vote for Graham as against, as he is as close to a Democrat as they will get in the Republican party.
All about getting the vote out.One county in Virginia and one county in Ohio have been putting the Democrat/Socialist Party over the top in the last two Presidential elections and the senate race you just mentioned.
And now with FITSNEWS and the 4 or 5 depraved,OWS types that post 24/7 on this forum bringing the Bobby Harrell saga a national platform (LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I just hope the nation will be able to focus on Obama’ s health care debacle and his appeasement to radical Islamists, the muslim brotherhood and Iran. :-)
You guys get a room already…
Agreed Sandi. Romney was a Liberal-Tarian-type Republican and he is a Mormon. A lot of our people don’t feel real comfortable w/ either.
While democrats will cheat, steal, lie and vote multiple time. Greed, government hand-outs and power are STRONG motivators.
I’ll be very surprised if he gets less than 60%. Then again, I’ve forgotten more about politics than Folks will ever know.
I’ve forgotten more about politics than Folks will ever know.
So has just about anyone else over the age of 5.
Maybe you are right but I will take a chance that he can be beaten out by someone in a runoff! I am not going to give in to these RINOs who bleed their constituents by accepting money and selling out to the Chamber of Commerce! Americans seem to be the last entities that are considered……we are an afterthought! The founding fathers gave us the power to vote in and remove those who are not doing their jobs. He has sold us out for power and a bag of gold!!!
Not a chance he loses. Whine all you want about how liberal he is or whatever. Open primary, name recognition, multiple no-name opponents to split the field, endorsements, party machine behind him, incumbent with all the money he needs to pave his way. No story here.
“I am confident that if South Carolina could choose to opt out of Obamacare, it would”
Most retarded campaign ad ever. No way that law stands a chance of passing, if it did, the entire Obamacare system would collapse. He’s campaigning on a proposal that he made with a bunch of other guys, not anything that he’s actually done in office. The sad fact is most idiot Republican voters in the state will vote for him anyways.
You have to look at how SC votes. Many vote as a group. Law enforcement is one example. Teachers, Masons, Lions Club members, Rotarians, Baptists, and even more broadly, state and federal employees. These groups equalize independent citizens who vote without being recipients of grant money, a federal paychecks, in general funneled tax dollars towards many groups or voting blocks mentioned above. Many people related to these individuals in these groups hear who they should vote for from those associated in these groups. In rural areas, lawyers often can persuade many who to vote for. Planted out of state retirees also bring a voting block to bear out. Not counting monies in a candidates account and vote splitting shill candidates by and large our elections are decided by the above mentioned voting blocs and their word of mouth whisper campaign for the candidate that best feather’s their nests.
I hope you’re right.
I base this on Newt’s 2012 primary slaughter of Romney. Newt got 243,398 votes, 40.4% out of 602433 votes cast. Romney in the general received 1,071,645 Republican votes.
Go away T-Rat, why did you take your photo off and replace it with the angel oak?
You’re probably right. I can’t imagine independent thinkers voting for Graham.
….all it takes is one strategic informational “bombshell” and this guy is toast….as well as TIM Scott and James Clyburn….!!
……since this guy has been in office, just how many countries have we had troops die for OIL and corporate oil INTERESTS in…??
……since when has this guy looked into a camera and told HILLARY Clinton “Thanks” for bragging about killing a dictator that got our Ambassador killed….!!
….since when has this Senator scolded our politicians for skimming 900 Million for BOEING without letting voters have a vote….??
……..
Left out of the Article is Benjamin Dunn (Republican) who is a Columbia Attorney. Benjamin Dunn not only graduated from DW Daniel High School (same as Lindsey Graham), but also has twenty years in the National Guard. To say that not all challengers can keep up with Graham baffles me and more homework needs to be done before bashing all. Benjamin Dunn was a very interesting read, I’m pretty sure he was valedictorian at Clemson. Rumor has it that he turned down a medical school acceptance his sophomore year at Clemson to finish out a biological sciences degree. Oh and that thing about valedictorian, don’t disrespect the very smart and talented graduates of Clemson and brush that aside. After Clemson (G0 TIGERS) he went on to pursue law at the University of South Carolina. Check him out, http://www.benjamindunn.org , I found the man pretty interesting
Checked out his website.
Previously, TBG has not given a rat’s ass about Iran nuclear ambitions, however, Mr Dunn points out that:
“The stability of the Caucus states is already fragile and providing extremist groups in the region an emboldened, nuclear-armed Iran to rally around would be akin to throwing a lighted match onto dry kindling.”
Now, those Persians threatening Iowa, Alaska, Nevada, North Dakota etc is a horse of a different color!!! TBG is ready to join John McCain in a rousing rendition of “Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran”!!!
//sarcasm off
*TBG is almost second guessing his “Anyone but Graham ” stance.*
Transcaucasus is too hard to spell, dude. Besides, who in SC knows anything about that… the new spelling comes from the white supremacist groups who believe their ancestors come from the Caucasian mountains.
Hi Ben.
Mace is electable? Really? I think she’ll be lucky to pull even 5-10% of the vote. No one…and I mean no one I’ve talked to in the Upstate even thinks she’s seriously running.
I agree. She is really only a name on this website. Not really a candidate as far as I can tell. I would just save money at this point.
I have never heard Mace other than on this board. He is going to stomp that little girl.
all the Crisco in the world won’t save Lindsey’s sweet little racist ass
2014 will mark the demise of the Tea Party as a major force in politics. The GOP establishment is beating them everywhere, thanks to Karl Rove and the money bags.
Graham will get the nomination outright. All of the others put together don’t have the heft to win. Bowers is the only one with even the possibility of forcing a runoff. And that is only if he spends big on commercials and the supporters of others start to jump to his side. Neither is likely to happen.
If by some chance Graham is forced into a runoff, he would be in deep trouble. The entire race would be turned on its head, and it would be a major national story. There is a lot of money on the sidelines that might place some big bets too.
You have posted some stupid ass things however this is a ‘classic’.
In one breath you argue the ‘demise’ of the Tea Party and in the next breath argue that Graham would be in trouble in a runoff against a Tea Party candidate!
Oh my!!!! The Colbert-Busch/Tinabu flunkies are on a roll!
Tea party candidate won in Nebraska bro.
2010: Tea Party candidate won GOP primary in Delaware. Cost GOP a sure seat.
2012: Tea Party candidates won in Indiana and Nevada. Cost GOP a sure seat in IN and a good shot a Reid in NV.
Harry Reid can thank the Tea Party for his job and control of the Senate. That’s why the GOP establishment is determined to destroy them.
G.O.P.: Evil Mastermind Behind Benghazi Is Frail Old Woman With Brain Damage
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) — Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is an evil genius capable of masterminding the most elaborate cover-up in U.S. history and is also a frail old woman with brain damage, leading Republicans charged on Sunday.
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus led the attack while appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” where he said that the American people should be wary of electing a woman who is capable of orchestrating the complex conspiracy to whitewash Benghazi while, at the same time, being too old, feeble, and brain damaged to serve in the Oval Office.
“These two aspects of Secretary Clinton would have me very concerned,” he said.
Mr. Priebus said he saw “no contradiction” between the portrayals of Secretary Clinton as an evil mastermind and a brain-damaged crone, explaining, “The one part of Secretary Clinton’s brain that works perfectly well is the part that creates elaborate cover-ups, and that is the part of her brain that is currently covering up the fact that she is brain damaged.”
The R.N.C. chairman said he was confident that once the American people realized Secretary Clinton is both an evil mastermind and a frail old woman with brain damage, they would reject her at the ballot box.
“The one thing the American people will not tolerate is double-talk,” he said.
“The single most Liberal Republican in Congress.”
Hahahahahahahahahahahaahahahhaha!,
Pure hatred sometimes drives people nuts!
I find it amusing how Fits and some of his libertarian acolytes act as if Grahams NeoCon pro military stuff “hurts ” him in S .C.
What a damn joke.Indeed those stands help him immeasurably.90% of SC Republicans ( and a substantial number of Democrats) heartily endorse all this foreign adventurism, increased military spending and are always looking for another country to invade.
Pretending otherwise is ABSURD ,
The new ad/endorsement with David Wilkins aired this weekend in the upstate and it is a pretty powerful message. Whether you like him or not he and his brother carry a ton of weight in the Republican circles. Graham is not going anywhere until a worthy candidate surfaces and it will not be this go around. After the election Graham will still have $4 million in the campaign bank account.
Which begs the question why he would spend so much money to win a job that will never pay that money back?
See “MACE” road signs everywhere. That’s it. No message, program, idea, suggestion, whatever. I’m not opposed to Graham’s voting record but believe in recycling / term limits, so I’ll vote for SOMEBODY ELSE but WISH they could … say something. A post card would be a good start. I believe I speak for many thousands.
Prediction, Graham sweeps it and Mace returns to Fitsnews. I just don’t see any of them putting up a real campaign strategy and I follow the races. There is no chance of a runoff.
Repubs like Graham that support immigration reform (Amnesty/DOUBLING IMMIGRATION) are The Washington Generals to the Dems Harlem Globetrotters.
Content to bark at the symptoms (Obama(care), high taxes/spending, government dependence etc.) while supporting the root cause (surging immigration).
Importing poverty and (further) depressing wages is politically incompatible with any Republican victory in a national election.
50%? More like 75%.
I love it…FITS is all butt hurt about Graham’s inevitable re-election to another six years.
All this after tea-baggers have been plotting to over throw him for years and have produced exactly jack squat!!!!!!
Perfect example of how the establishment controls the political means through its massive apparatus. Money and propaganda are very difficult to overcome. Land of the free? Hardly.
And here’s the other deal — US Senate is NOT an entry level position. I’ll accept that a vocal number don’t like Graham. But the field up against him is total shit. Lee Bright offers the best resume’ among the group… Lee Bright, seriously! I spent years in DC working in the House, Senate and White House. I still maintain contacts with many though it’s been decades since I dropped out of that bullshit line of work. Among my old friends are a few red meat devotees who don’t like (or work for interest that don’t like) Graham. They waited in DC with anticipation and checks in-hand for the arrival of the field of primary opponents. To say they were disappointed would be understatement. Mace was clearly the one they looked forward to meeting. Attractive Citadel girl. To quote one friend who runs a very large PAC and subsidiary PAC’s upon his DC interviews, PAC tours and fundraisers with Mace, “we were all sending money to Graham and apologies to those we had invited before she left the building. She was a complete amateur without the slightest grasp on policy or even the basics of government.”
And last, for those who don’t like Graham let me just make it clear… you would have HATED Strom Thurmond.
I live in South Carolina, and have done so for seventeen years, but was born and raised in Texas. I can tell you from first hand experience that, yes, the people here consider themselves conservatives and consider this state conservative; but the fact is this is a moderate to liberal state. South Carolina has the most insidious, yet invasive and vicious tax system I’ve ever seen. There is a horrid income tax in this state, as well as a high sales tax and property tax. And they go after small business in a vicious way. All this from “conservative legislatures”. Do not EVER believe that South Carolina is conservative. It ain’t. All you have to do is call yourself a Republican and you can win here, whether or not your conservative. They are not conservative here, but there are tons of sheep here, and they’ll follow a twangy accent just about anywhere.
That seems to be the only explanation I can think of for their voting for Graham.
Just because you say Nancy Mace is the only electable doesn’t make it true. Other evidence suggest she is one of the least electable.
Graham represents the absolute worst of American politics. Are SC Republicans determined that their state be a laughing stock or are Clinton Democrats supporting Graham in the SC Republican primary?
Al Qaeda will be happy that their boy’s winning.
Ignorant Southern Baptists voting to slaughter the Christians in Syria.
sic(k) willie loves him some underdogs.
And all those running against Graham are underdogs.
Emphasis on “under.” None have a prayer.
sic(k) willie knows that is a fact, but he keeps pandering.
Political pimps are like that.
Pimps like sic(k) willie will say or support anything for money.
He is wanting to put 11,000,000 illegal immigrants to work doing your job and give them Amnesty…..what do you think is going to happen? People of South Carolina…..get real and vote for Lee Bright who has experience in the State Legislature!
Nah…I’m voting for Lindsey!
