“FILE UNDER ‘GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE'”

There’s nothing like a cause – i.e. “food safety” – to lure hundreds of taxpayer-funded bureaucrats to a convention.

Hell, what are causes without conventions and bureaucrats, right?

Anyway … in a not-so-“delicious” bit of irony, more than 400 attendees at a “food safety summit” in Baltimore, Maryland came down with suspected food poisoning at the event. The attendees – which included representatives of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – experienced bouts of diarrhea and nausea.

That’s prompted another wave of bureaucrats at the Maryland Department of Health and the Baltimore City Health Department to launch a massive investigation into the cause of the outbreak.

The summit was held from April 8-10.

“File under ‘Government Health Care,'” our friends at Zero Hedge note.

We need to do away with the FDA and the CDC. Everyone knows that thalidomide is good for pregnant women but the FDA “picked winners and losers” in the drug market place and withheld it from us. What does the CDC do anyway? Everyone knows that polio, smallpox, diphtheria, whooping cough, etc. are just old time diseases that don’t occur anymore. Why those vaccines for them give you the disease (or worse) anyway.

Think about something: What was the last disease CURED. Answer: Polio back in the fifties. There is so much more money made “treating ” all the cancers, diabetes , heart problems etc. than a cure. How much money dose the drug/ medical industrial complex make off polio vaccine in comparison ??? A friend of mine recently just asked that question out of a clear blue sky, then stood back and smiled. Makes you think don’t it ?

I think preventable is a better term for polio than cured. The vaccine does not “cure” you. Polio actually still exists in some third world countries where the “leaders” ban the vaccine.

Polio and other childhood diseases are making a comeback because misinformed parents and those who don’t remember what it was like before these vaccines are refusing to vaccinate their children.

Polio is still almost exclusively an issue in poor countries, or countries like Pakistan where people choose not to be vaccinated, I’m guessing for some bullshit religious reason. I don’t think that one is making a comeback though.

Measles is though, mostly because of “crunchy mom” fucktards who believe in frauds and quacks and retracted Lancet papers and celebrities and conspiracy theories over, you know, tried and tested, peer reviewed, sound medical science.

Fuck every last moron in the anti-vaccine movement.

Cancer and AIDS and other extreme diseases are a lot harder to cure than smallpox and polio, which weren’t so much “cured” as they were made extinct (or nearly extinct for polio) in the natural world via vaccines destroying their ability to spread.

AIDS is a virus we don’t yet understand. Cancer is naturally occurring, most cancer cells are disposed of one way or another before becoming a real threat, but if that doesn’t happen then it becomes an issue that really can be difficult to treat.

The pancreas relates to both cancer and diabetes. Pancreatic cancer is pretty much a death sentence. Diabetes is not commonly reversible (except maybe for obese, early stage of diabetes patients who can drop the weight). The pancreas is something we still don’t have a great grasp on, unfortunately, despite being a vital organ. Kidney failure is still treated with transplants or dialysis, and dialysis hasn’t really improved over the years either, so really, we haven’t “cured” or “treated” diseases better in several cases.

I dislike conspiracies involving why we haven’t found cures yet. You have tons of doctors, scientists, pharmaceutical companies, research groups, from all different parts of the world, private and government, working on this stuff. Are they all in on it together? That’s some Illuminati/NWO shit right there.

Big Pharma may love its bottom line, but that doesn’t explain lack of progress by itself. No, our understanding of the human body is still quite primitive, though we have advanced far. Crafting a vaccine is leagues away from annihilating malignant cancers or solving endocrine problems caused by genetic factors.

I really hope you are right but I still think back to the socio-political axiom: follow the money.

The CDC thinks guns are a disease. Go figure.

I do know he did lie us into the Iraq War, and we see how that is playing out.

Isn’t it interesting how during his administration all the libturds said how he didn’t do anything yet after six years of Obummer he is still responsible ?

Gee, I favor food safety. Who if not the government will see to it? We need more meat inspectors, not fewer.

If you just let the free market work, you don’t need food inspectors. If you eat bad meat and die you will not buy any more meat from that purveyor. His profits will suffer and he will think twice before he sells bad meat next time. Or at least he will go to the cost of setting up a new corporation to sell the bad meat.

When a convention of those responsible for government oversight into safe food falls ill from that very thing, what makes you think they are capable of doing such a task?

Do you think the restaurants you eat in are are safe because of government or because those running it are concerned(most of them) with making sure the food is both safe and pleasing to eat?

How else do you think any government agency can actually ‘keep you safe’? Do you suggest one government agent for each restaurant to constantly test the food? Otherwise, isn’t there always an opportunity for failure?

Where’s your threshold for the number of meat inspectors being sufficient?

I am sure the food poisoning was an Executive Order from President Obama to sicken as many folks as possible to bolster the need for Obamacare . . .

Reply
Jay Ellington May 2, 2014 at 1:16 pm

Wouldn’t do him any good, most of the affected are exempt from Obamacare.

Reply
SCBlues May 2, 2014 at 1:28 pm

My understanding is the ACA governs all plans now – all must be ACA compliant even if not an actual “Obamacare Plan” . . . so I’m certain that he did it.
