Perhaps I have misread all earlier rants about the definition of racist. As I recall you said to be a racist a person must believe people of another race are inferior. Noting this man has said indicates he thinks white people are inferior to black people. In fact its the opposite. He thinks white people are continuing to oppress black people and that black people need to band together to defend themselves.
As for segregation, of course I am not for that. Unlike those who support vouchers for private schools.
And maybe I am wrong about your earlier language being racist. It appears that way to me. It appears you think black people cannot speak properly. I would say it is because you think this man can’t speak properly, but you have never heard him speak; so I assume your assumption it that is the way all black people speak. I think his efforts would be better asserted teaching “his own” how to more effectively assimilate with productive Americans or all races and how to move past this stuck back mentality that that the evil white devils are oppressing blacks. It’s 2014, there are more black business owners, black politicians, black doctors, black lawyers, etc than ever before, but that’s not good enough for hate mongers like the Reverend Gregory. He needs to further perpetuate the myth that “his race” is being obstructed from achieving success at the hands of whites, so that he can profit off of their misfortune. It’s nonsense, hurtful to his people and just plain counterproductive. These are not the type of people any community needs representing their best interests.
i dunno. he’s talking about jasper county schools, which is virtually a black institution, so he has a point. he did his time working in those god awful schools and the ‘assault’ charge was bogus – those kids are tough as shit to deal with. this doesn’t make him qualified for county council, but nothing he says here ain’t true. a little black pride would be a good thing in jasper cause the place boils with corruption. and what should he do, try to appeal to white voters?

Hard to argue with success. Blacks have controlled the county council, sheriff, clerk of court, treasure, tax assessor, school board. Also our representation in Columbia for many, many years. We have NOTHING but poverty and high crime to show for it.
Gregory was council chairman, lost his last election and voted for a 30% property tax increase on his way out the door along with the “black majority”. The “black majority” is no more, at least not until November when these uneducated, racist idiots put him right back in office.
Our only hope is that Gregory ends up indicted along with the rest of the school board.

There will be no indictment of the school board. Bill Nettles and Jean Toal have decided that would not be good for the Democratic Party in South Carolina. Nettles has gotten the FBI to stand down and Toal promised every senator and representative from Allendale through Hampton, Jasper and Beaufort (including your sainted Tom Davis, Sic) to vote for her on the promise no one supporting the Democratic Party goes to jail down there.

Improbably, Jasper County is growing some because of spillover development from the Hilton Head area. It’s on track to grow by more than 20% this decade, and those new residents are predominantly white, thereby lowering the black percentage of the county’s population. Is that part of the subtext of this candidate’s rant?
