FUNDRAISING SCANDAL REVEALS UGLY TRUTH ABOUT AMERICAN POLITICS

Sant Singh Chatwal – a major donor on Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign – pleaded guilty this week to making more than $180,000 in illegal campaign donations to three unnamed candidates.

The hotel magnate was also caught on tape vocalizing what everyone already knows about American politicians: That they don’t give a damn about you unless you’re giving them money.

Without big dollar political contributions “nobody will even talk to you,” Chatwal said on a 2010 recording made by a U.S. Justice Department (DOJ) informant.

“That’s the only way to buy them, get into the system,” Chatwal said.

Oh say does that star-spangled banner yet wave …

Chatwal raised more than $100,000 for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential bid, although it’s not yet known whether Clinton was one of the recipients of his illegal largesse. The DOJ said there was no evidence that the three recipients of Chatwal’s illegal donations were involved with – or even aware of – his scheme.

In addition to Clinton, Chatwal has donated money to numerous Democratic politicians including Senate majority leader Harry Reid, U.S. Sen. Mark Warner (D-Virginia), U.S. Sen. Jon Tester (D-Montana) and former U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Connecticut).

Hey rebell,
What perverts traditional marriage more? Allowing gays to marry, or divorce among straight people? Is one worse than the other? What if you are on your 4th marriage, like your hero Limbaugh? Is that worse than one gay marriage? Please explain.

rebellozit April 18, 2014 at 11:10 am

If a man wants toooo marry another man or a cow or a fly or a tomato,I don’t care.It is indeed a slippery slope. Why couldn’t someone marry their own mother or father? The Bible says Adam and Eve,NOT Adam and Steve however none of my business in what someone else does in their own personal life.

Bible Thumper April 18, 2014 at 11:13 am

Personal life, no, but when it is recognized by our laws and courts, it is no longer just personal.

SCBlues April 18, 2014 at 11:22 am

Bible Thumper – But you still do not get it – our laws and our courts are not governed by your religious beliefs. Our laws and our courts recognize heterosexual marriage – so that is not longer “just personal” either, huh?

rebellozit April 18, 2014 at 11:41 am

Thumper is correct. It crosses the ‘personal’ line when it is recognized by our laws and courts.
Say I got an apartment upstairs I want toooo rent.Say I got small children/grandchildren living with me.Why should I have tooooo rent that apartment to a same-sex couple if I don’t want my children/grandchildren exposed to this living arrangement, based on my religious beliefs?
If forced to do so my religious rights have been violated and it is no longer just ‘personal’.

vicupstate April 18, 2014 at 12:34 pm

In that situation, no one could force you to rent to anyone that you did not want to. All of the Housing discrimination laws exempt someone from Fair Housing regulations when they are renting part pf their residence or just 1 or 2 units. An apartment complex would be subject to Fair Housing regs.

Bible Thumper April 18, 2014 at 11:46 am

Jewish guilt. It’s like white guilt or rich guilt.

Tom April 18, 2014 at 11:27 am

Please proceed with your explanation.

Bible Thumper April 18, 2014 at 12:21 pm

Whites historically oppressed blacks.
l am white, therefore guilty.
Blacks predominantly vote Democrat.
Therefore, in solidarity with blacks I vote Democrat.
Palestinians are perceived as victims of Israel. Israel is a Jewish state. Therefore, Jews share the guilt and support pro Palestinian candidates. That is why the term Palestinian was coined. Arabs or Jordanians were not perceived as victims but as belligerents.

It is called collective guilt. I don’t believe in it. I believe each is guilty for their own actions.

euwe max April 18, 2014 at 3:00 pm

You are right about the consequences … your father’s sins can’t make it through the blood of Christ, where you hide… but they can cause you grief… guilt, however.. let’s talk about guilt a little bit – if guilt does not travel through the sins of your fathers, how do you square that with the sin of Adam? Or Moses’ flock wandering 40 years in the desert?

guilt isn’t simply “a feeling” it’s a family responsibility brought about by the concept of honor.

…and arrogance is not one of God’s favorite responses from his children to the grief they’ve caused.

The Catholic Church apologized for their support of Jewish persecution.. Southern Baptists for their support of slavery… while racists recline in smug satisfaction that they did nothing wrong.

Bible Thumper April 18, 2014 at 4:32 pm

euwe max, you and SCBlues are aways pushing me.

Breifly, we are not guilty of Adams sin, but sin entered man’s nature through Adam.

God made covenants with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David.
While their examples were instructional, these men failed where one man, Jesus, succeeded.

The apologies are good and should followed up with actions, but it will fail to help the victims without them offering forgiveness.

Which do you believe will bring greater progress? ‘Guilt and entitlement’ or ‘forgiveness and brotherhood’.

euwe max April 18, 2014 at 4:40 pm

euwe max, you and SCBlues are aways pushing me.
——-
Republican bible thumper… hmmm… blindsided. :) Mark it down to Christian naiveté.

Briefly, we are not guilty of Adams sin, but sin entered man’s nature through Adam.
———
If we aren’t guilty, why do we have to atone for it?

The apologies are good and should followed up with actions, but it will fail to help the victims without them offering forgiveness.
———-
I know that. If someone’s dad burns down my house, it’s more important that I forgive his dad, than for his son to say he’s sorry… and make amends. People focus too much on the harm to the victim, and not enough on the victim’s acceptance of harm… you know, like the death penalty.

Which do you believe will bring greater progress? ‘Guilt and entitlement’ or ‘forgiveness and brotherhood’.
——-
depends on your definition of “conscience” and “brotherhood.”

Native Ink April 18, 2014 at 10:52 pm

I doubt there are many people who vote Democrat for the reasons you think. Most white Democrats _hope_ they would have been anti-slavery and anti-Jim Crow if they’d been around in those days. Maybe they are dreaming and they really wouldn’t have been able to swim against the tide of society. But they certainly don’t think that they are the sort of people who would have committed the sins in the first place. Why should they feel guilty for what racist assholes did and still do?

Maybe they feel a little guilty when they become adults and realize the breaks they were handed as kids because they are white, but that is dealing with present society, now long-ago history.

rebellozit April 18, 2014 at 11:22 pm

What do ‘racist assholes’ still do today?Only ones I observe in politics today are the Clyburns’,Cummings’ etc…Holder,Obama etc…
I agree with you on the guilt issue…this country has just had two generations of childen/grandchildren brainwashed by state controlled public schools and universities.
No worries. We will get a majority of them back when they figure out by ages 28-32 that liberalism/socialism/communism does not work and LEGALLY smoking dope and aborting children ain’t a lifestyle plan.

Bible Thumper April 18, 2014 at 11:31 pm

Democrats/liberals – My intentions were good. If the consequences are bad, I am still a good person. My guilt is relieved.

Republican/conservative – The more attractive a solution to a problem is the more people claim to have the problem. The less desirable the solution the fewer people who claim to have it. They are more likely to find their own solution to their problem. Clinton and the Republican Congress actually did this with welfare reform.

Libertarian – It’s not the government’s problem.

It isn’t that they have it, but how they got it. You can be honest and fair in your dealings, and still be successful. The problem is, too many “businessmen” take the shortcuts and lie/ cheat/ steal from others to make it big. THOSE are the guys who we take issue with. And if you support their actions as being acceptable, then you shouldn’t have a problem with my using other methods to even the playing field. You bought the court…. but I bought a lead pipe.

Reply
Jack April 18, 2014 at 11:19 am

Did not miss the point at all. I assume Hillary accepted the money because it was offered. I have never seen a politician turn down a campaign contribution. Did she personally know he had contributed more than he was allowed. I don’t know, but I doubt it. I doubt it because there are plenty of ways to get around contribution limits and still get credit for the contributions.
I assume this person hoped he was buying the ear of a future President. But Hillary is in no position to do anything for him at this point. Unlike Congressmen who take money.
What is the surprise here? Does anyone think that people who contribute thousands of dollars to a politician don’t think they will get something in return. Do you think when Howard Rich gives money to a Republican in Columbia he does not expect a vote in favor of School Choice in exchange. Do you think for one minute he would give money to someone if they did not vote his way. If so, I want you as my customer.
This is why we need to be fighting to get money out of politics, and not into politics like the Supreme Court.

Grrr_Native April 18, 2014 at 1:53 pm

BOTH parties. ALL politicians. I don’t claim either side. Neither party resembles their former selves and BOTH parties are harming this country.

On February 13, 2008, the Senate Ethics Committee sent a letter of admonition to Craig, stating that his “improper conduct” reflected “discreditably” on the United States Senate. The Committee held that Craig had indeed committed the actions for which he had pleaded guilty, and that his efforts to withdraw his guilty plea were intended to evade the repercussions of his actions. Noting that Craig had tapped campaign funds to spend $213,000 for legal fees and public relations fees on the case, the Committee argued that this showed his disregard of ethics.Campaign funds may only pay legal bills when they are related to the Senator’s official duties.

It is hard to pick which Democratic deviant to talk about, as one is spoiled for choices. Marzilli was attacking women on park benches. Bill Clinton has been accused of raping a woman and sexually assaulting at least one other woman.

Or how about Bob Filner: “19 women had publicly claimed that Filner had sexually harassed them, including a retired admiral,a Marilyn Monroe impersonator who appeared at one of his fundraisers, a 67-year-old great-grandmother who worked for the city, a nurse who said Filner demanded a date in exchange for helping a Marine who had suffered a brain injury and PTSD during service in Iraq, and several female members of the U.S. armed forces who had been raped during their service.”

This list of the top 53 sex scandals has Democrats securing 9 of the top 10 spots, and holding a solid majority overall. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/03/13/americas-top-53-political_n_91325.html

Hell dems don’t do bad.Kennedy kills a girl and served another 40 years until thank God he died and Barney ‘loli-pop’ Frank served about 50 congressional terms despite his boyfriend running a male prostitution ring out of his basement.

“You know that old children’s tale from the sea. It’s like you’re dreamin’ about Gorgonzola cheese when it’s clearly Brie time, baby.”

Hilarious that you cite a quote from a Dem talking ABOUT HIMSELF to attack Republicans. The party of Boss Tweed and Daley preaching about corruption. What a joke indeed.

Holder’s DOJ always seems to conclude innocence of all democrat circumstances well before any investigation. The IRS, Philidelphia voter fraud, Ben Gazi, fast and furious. So much for law enforcement.

Please provide links to the WorldNetDaily reporting on those investigations – thanks in advance.

Another reason to believe that first generation Indian Americans have no business in American politics: their concept of how politics should work is just a trifle warped.

I will have to disagree with you. They come from a country were that is how politics works to a country where that has become how politics works. Those of us who expect otherwise are behind the curve. There is a new world order and its decidedly 19th century in style. Thanks to the Republican Party. After all isn’t that what they wanted.

So this man spoke the truth we all know. Our democracy is defunct for anyone who doesn’t have thousands or millions of dollars to buy admission into the system. Now what do we do about it? I tend to agree with John McCain (for once). Americans won’t do anything until the campaign finance scandals get so bad we can no longer ignore the stink.

Thank goodness Citizens United and McCutcheon won’t make this kind of stuff exponentially worse, amirite?

No. You are wrong.

Sant Singh Chatwal – a major donor on Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign – pleaded guilty this week to making more than $180,000 in illegal campaign donations to three unnamed candidates by using straw donors. Guilty faces up to 25 years in prison.

Former lobbyist and developer Harvey Whittemore was convicted this week of illegally funneling $138,000 to Sen. Harry Reid’s re-election committee in 2007 using straw donors.

Democrat Super-lobbyist Paul Magliocchetti of Arlington, Va. He was sentenced in 2011 to 27 months in prison for using straw donors to funnel funds to campaigns.

William Danielczyk of Virginia was sentenced to more than two years in prison and fined $50,000 for using straw donors to donate money to Hillary Clinton’s political campaigns in 2006 and 2008

The use of straw donors, the Democrat “A” game to fund candidates illegally, is still illegal.

Citizens says that as long as the groups (PACS now on equal footing with labor unions) were not directly connected to the candidate, their spending would not corrupt that person, so they can spend unlimited amounts to support or oppose candidates.

McCutcheon simply restricts solicitation from candidates or parties for donations while leaving intact the 5200.00 individual cap on any two year cycle for any single candidate. However, individuals can donate (uncapped) money to 501(c) organizations, to other candidates in the same party (capped), party committees (uncapped), PACS (uncapped).

Limbaugh has been attacking addicts and women while he can’t keep that family values ideal in check himself. If there’s a druged out whore, it’s Rush Limbaugh.

GrandTango April 20, 2014 at 3:54 pm

From what I understand, Rush repented for his sin, and turned his life around….He no longer uses the pain-killers that he was addicted to after medical use..

That’s what we pray for all sinners…including ourselves…I believe in forgiveness for those who turn from their sin…as God tells me…Don’t you?

Funny how FITS so quickly tries to indict American Politicians…when this crook is the Clinton’s, and a Devout DEMOCRAT!!!…

Like I said: The D brand is Filth…so Liberal-Tarians, like FITS, know the only way they can keep the corrupt democrats in office, is by sullying ALL leaders…so you’ll put Ds back in, based on the idea, they are all the same…

Candidates are NOT all the same…not one Republican voted for Obamacare…for instance…

There is a BIG difference in parties regarding: freedom to worship; the 2nd Amendment; taxes; treatment of terrorists; The First Amendment; extra privileges for homosexuals; spending; spying; racial equality; immigration; gender respect…and on and on…. Most of the time, the Ds side w/ Stalin or Hitler on the issues…Not Americans…
