TAPPED OUT AMERICAN CONSUMERS NOT “WARMING” TO 2014
The U.S. economy’s sluggish start to 2014 was all the weather’s fault … or so the command economists running this country into the ground told us ad nauseam. Once things warmed up, they assured us, American consumers would unleash their “pent-up demand” onto the marketplace.
Well guess what … that “pent-up demand” isn’t materializing.
According to data published this week by Gallup, “the amount Americans reported spending each day in March averaged $87 for the month, identical to February.”
“While spending remains relatively high, this is the first time since the recession that consumers’ average daily March spending didn’t increase at least slightly over February spending,” Gallups researchers’ noted. “Consumers’ March spending was also no higher than their spending a year ago.”
Uh-oh …
Here are the Gallup charts, with some directional “commentary” from the website Zero Hedge.

The poor US citizen has performed about a well (or better) as we can, based on media hype, declaring (in true liberal fantasy) ‘How Good It’s Gone Be’…
The truth of the Obama Reign is apparent (I think the debacle that Obamacare is finally convinced the slow and the stupid)….
We’re tired of the lies, the bigotry, the unfairness and injustice of Obama….Nobody is buying it anymore…
I’m still buying it. In fact, I think I’ll go out to the Mall right now and buy some stuff – to help support America and our great President who’s helped lift people up, and provide them access to affordable health insurance – with the support of Lindsey Graham – another great American. And you won’t catch Lindsey kissing some chick who works for him. He has too much class for that.
Obama’s helped lift them up to the Food Stamp office, and to be welfare check recipients.
I don’t like to use these terms, because it’s usually you liberals’ ONLY form of communication. But you’re just a F*#king Idiot…Reality makes no difference to you…you’ll just say what you have to, to suck off your gods…
Or just to piss you off. Which is really fun actually. I’ll always support the liberal gay supporters – they dress so well.
Demand for what?
More cheap Chinese crap?
How is that supposed to warm things up?
A more successful China means more pollutants in the air, ergo more warming.
Yep, we gotta keep China down. F those people. I like polar bears better anyway.
Yup Clinton saw to that, cheap sulfur laden coal fining Red China’s furnaces, finishing up Mousy Dung’s Great Leap forward…
CHEAP! The Chinese are exporting the expensive high quality products now.
When I hear about China and pent up demand I always start looking for the happy ending.
You all realize the weather issue remained right through March in the section from St. Louis through Chicago and in through DC and the Northeast. That’s where 85% of the Americans with money live. If you were thinking that somehow sunny Spring days in beautiful but poor (povre) SC was going to move the needle – you’re smoking the same dope Nikki is.
Always some excuse…of course, no other president ever had bad weather in his term…only Obama…
Was looking at the graphs – did you see the bad weather that hit Bush in 2008. Holy cow – talk about Snow in June.
Besides – I was just pointing out a fact. You remember those – they taught you about them in journalism school.
Don’t lie. You were pointing out EXCUSES. Obama, and his media, have made more excuses than any president in history.
You’ve promised Utopia, and it’s been H#!! on the American people ever since he was elected.
Obama has failed (except at F*#king up) more than any president in history.
Obama’s fails are either incompetence or “willful malpractice”, did I say malfeasance, which would be contempt of his oath of office and grounds for impeachment that would, as in Clinton’s case also see a Senate filled with votes to acquit that are violations of Senators’ oaths, given the case Lindsey Graham presented…. so Lindsey’s the problem?
We’re all fucked and should just kill ourselves.
You first.
No, no, please.. beauty before age..
“The average income, adjusted for inflation, grew $59 from 1966 to 2011 for the bottom 90% of Americans.” http://www.cnn.com/2014/04/09/opinion/liu-income-inequality/index.html
Unfortunately, the less than 500 who gave the then maximum amount to political candidates in 2012, simply cannot drive the US economy. 500 people may be able to buy lots of real estate and put their money in tax havens, but they cannot do for the economy what the other 225,000,000 Americans over 18 can do.
Even a Republican or a Libertarian should be able to figure that out.
