RonPaul HATES the military. He thinks we’re ALWAYS wrong militarily and he does not think we need one. He thinks because we are strong, we cause all the evil in the world….

I hate people i.e. Bush, Cheney, who lie us into war and make us send troops into their little ventures, and when they don’t turn out the way they wanted, they just try to hide behind the soldiers. And if you want to expand freedom, get off your fat ass and head over to the DMZ or to Crimea and expand the hell out of it.

Based on Paul’s “analysis”, was WWII senseless? If there was no one who had PTSD then the answer is no. But if anyone did, then it was senseless.

Military suicide s is complex issue. Statistics are often misunderstood. Men in the US or four times more likely to commit suicide than women. The military is 85% male.

The government has known for years that medical marijuana will successfully treat PTSD, but politics and ideology trump science and evidence.
There’s an EASY solution to all this.Passa law reinstituting the Draft WITH NO EXEMPTIONS anytime the US Government senda thousand or more troops into a foreign country .The Draft ,of course, will never actually come into operation because no politician be it a President or Congress will ever commit the troops with this figurative shotgun at their head.Thats also why such a simpke solution will never be adopted!

We ditched the M-16A2 with three shot burst for M-4A1s with full auto…

The M-4 has been around since 1994 with the A2 safe, semi, burst sear. The M4A1 was introduced in 2009 with safe, semi, full auto sear from the A1.
I carried a M-4A1 in 2009-2010 when I took a long gun with me on the occasional jaunt in Iraq and Afghanistan (I’m a staff weenie these days and normally carry that useless POS known as the M-9). I think the official upgrade for all M-4s to M4A1 began in 2011.
The burst sear isn’t as smooth as the full auto sear and is inherently less accurate – if you shot as much taxpayer provided ammo as I have you can feel the difference. Infantry/Special Forces units also like the “spray and pray” feature when clearing buildings or when engaged in CQB.
The best of all the M-16 variants are the ones made for Canada (called the C-7 and C-8) Hammer forged heavy barrels, flat topped for the use of a variety of sights, heavier (sturdier)furniture (stocks)/all around and a slightly longer butt stock (the M-16 is designed to fit a 5’10’ man, I’m 6’1″ or so depending on which zippy mart I’m leaving – the half inch longer C7 stock makes a huge difference)
This is what happens when you lower the standards for admission to the point where any basket case with an ASVAB score can get in the Army. This sadly will probably not be the last incident.
The all volunteer Army is a good idea in peace time but when you need a lot of bodies in a hurry, the only way to accomplish the mission without accepting the flotsam and jetsam of society is by instituting a draft.
