SMELL THE FEAR …
MetLife has everything …
A midtown Manhattan headquarters, a football stadium, a fleet of blimps … even Snoopy.
Job hunters in the greater metropolitan Charlotte, N.C. area? Not so much …
According to The (Charlotte, N.C.) Observer, MetLife received 77,000 applications for the 1,300 new positions it is offering at its new global technology and operations hub in Cary, N.C.
Wow …
“77,000 applications,” a company executive told the paper. “Nobody anticipated that kind of response.”
Really? There’s a quote from the movie Friday that comes to mind …
In other news, they’re going to have to level a damn forest just to handle all those rejection letters …

Not to be “nitpicking” but Cary, NC is in the Greater Raleigh, NC area, not Charlotte.
There were jobs in both cities. I assume 77k is for both.
One thing to consider is that with so many openings, most people probably applied to dozens of positions each. I don’t know if the 77k means total applications or applicants.
Lol at guy who thinks companies send out rejection letters anymore. I guarantee if you’re not selected, you won’t hear anything, ever.
They send rejection emails.
I’m waiting for the day you get rejection tweets.
