So they still pay 3700 bucks or 5000 bucks a year on tuition and fees after the scholarship depending in whether they are parishioners or not.
It’s not my business to decide what is helpful to a family with a special needs child. If a scholarship of any amount makes it more likely that a kid gets a better education, then good for the people making the donation. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.
I agree, but this particular example doesn’t lend credence to the belief that shool choice helps those most in need of better education. Most families with kids in failing schools probably couldn’t afford private school even if they did get a scholarship or tuition reduction

I can’t believe FITS is endorsing parent choice when just yesterday there was commentary from FITS denouncing public funds to support the so called “gay agenda” or “christian agenda” for that matter vis a vis Upstate USC.
Obviously I support disadvantaged children in this state getting additional supports and funding but the idea of my tax dollars ultimately ending up in private schools…especially parochial schools is disgusting.
Topic for thought – Will Folks announced he is looking for a home, who wants to bet said home just happens to be in one of the best school districts in the Midlands when all the dust settles? Who wants to bet he makes sure he exercises his “choice” and makes sure his kids are zoned for some of the top public schools in the Midlands?

When sic(k) willie says “school choice,” what he really means is “voucher scam.”
You know! The voucher scam that Howie the Voucher Clown has been trying to pawn off on S.C. for years after spending Brazillions of dollars buying S.C. elected officials.

The truth is that S.C. has had “school choice:” for many years. Parents can send their kids to public schools or they can choose to send them to any private school.
But, tell Howie the Voucher Clown he can’t rob from the poor to pay for the Rich. :)
Vouchers are a scam because they do nothing to help those who need help the most. All vouchers do is rob tax dollars from public schools for private schools.
Call the Voucher Scam whatever you want, sic(k) willie, Regardless of what you call it, it’s nothing but a carpetbugger voucher scam from Howie the Rich Voucher Clown.
