LEXINGTON TAX HIKE CAMPAIGN DRAMA …
Every since he was ousted as mayor of Lexington, S.C. last year, big government crony capitalist Randy Halfacre has been busy trying to land a contract to manage a $450,000 county-wide tax hike campaign.
Which we reported on last week …
Halfacre – head of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce – isn’t just working that angle, though. He’s been aggressively trying to become the head of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, a much more established “economic development” position. Not only that, he’s been campaigning for the town council seat of Danny Frazier – the disgraced former town “leader” who remains a central figure in an ongoing public corruption case (one which reportedly involves Halfacre, too).
Busy boy, right?
Anyway … according to our sources, Halfacre recently had a meeting with several county leaders who were originally disposed to give him the contract for the tax hike campaign. To get the business, though, he was asked to give up his own race – and sever ties with a shady political consultant named Scott Adams (Halfacre’s former campaign manager who has also lost two of his own bids for elected office).
“We can’t have the head of the local chamber orchestrating this campaign as well as his own race,” Halfacre was told.
Did the former mayor oblige these requests?
Um … no. Not even a little bit.
Halfacre told the county leaders he was staying in the race – and keeping Adams on board.
Why are these leaders concerned about Halfacre running? Sources tell FITS they are concerned about his ongoing proximity to Frazier – whose involvement in the “Lexington Ring,” a cabal of crooked cops and corrupt politicians that remains under investigation, is widely known.
“He ran with the guy – now he’s running for the guy’s seat,” one of the county leaders told us. “It’s just too cozy for comfort.”
As we noted in our previous post, we hope Halfacre goes away. Penny-ante corporate welfare backers like him are bleeding taxpayers dry across the state … and until they are gone, the bleeding will continue.

Put his ass in jail along with Danny Frazier, jake Knotts, James Metts and others that are involved in the lexington ring and you won’t have to worry about their corrupt asses coming back to run for public offices.
Law enforcement is the cause of these corrupt people still running around free.
SLED sat on those tapes for 4 months before the news broke the story. If it was not for the news reporting on those corrupt politicians, they would all still be in office conspiring on their next scam and the public none the wiser.
It appears that law enforcement hopes that enough time goes by and other situations takes the light off these corrupt politicians that us citizens will forget about that it happened and law enforcement is covering it up because of who all is involved with the lexington ring. Otherwise why want SLED or FBI tell the public that the case is closed and that they will not be bringing criminal charges against these people because of who they are and know.
You have to look at Halfasses close associates and running friends. Not just Frazier; but, Adulterer, Lobbyist, trash man and Clemson Trustee, Bob Peeler and his adulterous squeeze Donna Hoefer Peeler! They were active in Frazier’s campaign, as well as Halfacre’s. Worked the pols for he and Frazier, as well as campaigned door to door, stopped by my house asking for votes for both! Their connection with Halfass gives him a direct connection to Jean Hoefer Toal and Senate #2 Harvey Peeler, as well as a direct connection to former SLED #2 Tim james and Sheriff Metts!
What more could Half want?

Not sure I’d refer to Adams as “shady.” He’s actually one of the better guys out there who wants to help get Lexington County’s head out of it’s ass. The so called “county leaders”, who are probably Banning and Jeffcoat (and not leaders at all) and their cabal of crooks probably don’t want someone not an insider and not for sale getting close to their secrets.

Scott Adams and his wife Kathy are self serving arrogant people. I have personal dealing with both and have found them to be absolute sleezbags.
I can’t believe you would say that. I’ve known them both professionally for years. Kathy is an absolute sweetheart, and Scott has been a nothing but a gentleman working hard to support students and to improve the business climate in Lexington.
Wow, that’s harsh. I used to live in their neighborhood and they have opened their home to the needy and give a lot of time and money to help people. He was president of the HOA for a year or two when nobody wanted to do it and if he has a fault it is that he was too nice. His wife is an artist and is certainly not a sleezebag. If these two are morally corrupt I fear for the rest of Lexington!
Scott Adams and his wife have NEVER run or owned or even managed a business. They are political opportunist. They are not to be trusted. Ask any of their neighbors. They are as morally corrupt as the political crows they run with.
I thought his wife ran a scrapbooking store in Lexington, and he was some big executive at a cable manufacturing plant in Lexington for years. Wasn’t he president of Secret Cove Home Owners Association?

This will be the ultimate disgrace o Lexington if the voters elect him back into office. Lexington has the chance for a new beginning when Halfacre was voted out of office. Everyone should watch to see who is working with him on his campaign, I will guess it is Hazel. If this happens the voters need tooust her on the next election.
Halfacre was a self obsorbed power munge that had his own self interest in mind on anything he workd on an voted for. It was He and Danny that got the landfill in for the Corley’s. The did behind the scene calling in on the votes from other council members and sweep the landfill under the radar on top of the Lexington Community. WHO WANTS A LANDFILL IN THE MIDDLE OF LEXINGTON UNDER ALL THE OTHR DEVELOPEMENT. IT WAS A DEAL FOR CARSON CORLEY TO MAKE MONEY AND IN EXCHANGED THE ALLOWED ONE PIECE OF LAND THAT ALLOWED THE 378 CORRIDOR TO BE ANNEXED.
Halfacre is one of the most corrupt politician in Lexington County. His conflict of interest job with the chamber came about solely from his position as mayor and was over the top corrupt. His interest is not for the Town but soley for himself. Thereally sad part about this guy is his wife. She sits at home while he travels and goes to the after hour meeting and socials and meets with the “other women”. She is clueless n how he acts when she isnt around. He acts like this in front of all his croonies and then smiles while she is around. She is the laughing stock of Lexington and she stands there and smiles next to him and everyone is shaking their heads at how he acts.
Halfare is a connection to corruption in Lexington County. He was with Danny Fraizer the entire way and did all the corrupt political moves that Danny did and loved it. DON’T BE FOOLED VOTERS. KEEP HIM OUT OF OFFICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why the hell is everyone jumping all over this Adams guy? If the crooked, morally bankrupt so-called Lexington leaders are not high on him then he’s probably an ok guy. Haven’t read anything that would convince me otherwise and I for one know what he’s done for kids at LHS and personally helping them get jobs so he’s ok in my book.

Adams is in very tight with Frazier. That should be all anyone would need to know about this guy. Those that think he is a good guy must also think Frazier and Halfacre are wonderful people. You are known by the company you keep. Adams runs with this corrupt crowd. That is all I need to know about him.
