The American Bar Association is the biggest scam professional organization out there. It literally does nothing to further the interests of lawyers. It refuses to regulate law schools so they at least have some admission standards and don’t let in any mouth breathing moron. It’s nothing more than a liberal organization masking itself with the last remaining respect that lawyers have. Rest assured, the ABA will be defunct in the next 30 years. It has no credibility with anyone under the age of 40.

ABA HQ in Chicago! Horrors! How could you have missed linking Hubbard to Bill Ayers?

There should have been no digging at all… Sounds like a simple look at the ABA shows that they a uber-liberal organization… As their Supreme Leader, Hubbard will continue to push this Obamaesque agenda…

“Specifically, he vowed to “refrain from engaging in personal agendas that conflict with actions of the (USC) board or the advancement of the institution as a whole.”

“If this isn’t the definition of doing that … we don’t know what is.”

I’ll give you a definition. A definition of “sack of shit” is spelled W i l l F o l k s.

He is shameless. Just like the rest of the Florence Mafia (Hugh Leatherman, Fred Carter, Mark Buyck, Reynolds Williams Eddie Floyd, Ken Ard) they believe all taxpayer money is fair game. They believe liberating your money is OK; it is their money for the taking. And they have no shame!

Only the scum of the earth rises to prominence in Florence. That town’s spawn are morally ambivalent, shameless, and possess an entitlement to the public’s money that is akin to a wigger chasing crack cocaine on Saturday night.

I say banish them all to Leatherman’s back yard, let Eddie Floyd throw a thousand dollars onto the ground and watch them all cannibalize each other over the money.

Carter was a tyrant as executive director of the B&C Bd. His profanity laced tirades and threats to employees was well known; but, he had Drummon, Leatherman, Wilkins, and Harrell in his hip pocket, maybe his zipper too!

The ABA’s Center for Professional Responsibility conspired with Jean Hoefer Toal to claim they had “independently reviewed” Jean’s notorious corrupt Office of Disciplinary Counsel. (2008). They wrote the biggest bunch of crap one has ever read – with Jean and a couple of her servant girls doing the final editing and revising it themselves! It only takes a cursory reading of that treatise to know it was a sham and created solely for the purpose to misleading the House and Senate Judiciary Committees. I know lawyers who laughed out loud when reading that thing.

What an opportunist. He was president of Kappa Alpha Order at USC and proudly wore his confederate uniform to the Old South Ball and was a member of all white Forest Lake Country Club for decades after that. Now he claims to supports the far left agenda of the ABA. Typical of someone that will say or do anything to get power.

The ABA reminds me a little of the AMA(doctors, not motorcycles), it’s a mostly useless and obviously corrupt organization. They’ve got a good dose of cronyism going on just like every other organization of this nature. Everyone’s got their grubby hands in what’s left of the taxpayer pie, there’s not even much incentive to pretend otherwise anymore as no one in the upper levels of these organizations get in trouble for anything anyway.

Since I’m speaking in generalizations that are going to offend people, let’s toss out one more.

Most lawyers are Left leaning because they are statists through and through. It only makes sense, they spend half of their schooling learning about the “importance” of statist institutions and their role in it. Then, their whole career is based on how they can manipulate said institutions in favor of their clients.

It’s really just a matter of degrees between them. Rarely do you hear any of them talk about common law anymore and those claiming to be ‘limited gov’t’ usually aren’t when you start peeling back the layers of the onion.

It only makes consistent, logical sense that they are all statists. As such, and their ‘job’ being trying to manipulate it in their favor-it would seem to be also logically consistent to be crooked as hell in using it to enrich yourself coming from a lawyers perspective.(just don’t get caught!)

“Uber-liberal.”

Standard, run-of-the-mill Democrat positions. Abortion, gun control, amnesty, extending amnesty to gays, keeping public schools secular… This is “uber-liberal?”

I get that “left” and “right” are relative, both by region and per the individual, but what the hell? If this shit is “uber-liberal,” then what does that make Canada, Australia, Europe? Super Ultra Marxist Communism Times One Billion?

I’ll give you it’s left of Obama, but it’s hardly a feat to be left of a half-Democrat, half-moderate, half-neoconservative guy who pulls people from places like Goldman Sachs to help him run his ship. A moderate Republican could trip on someone’s shoe and accidentally fall to the left of Obama in some cases.

Without Will in his corner President Harris Pastides will not have such smooth sailing with the Board of Trustees. Pete Storm would be a better trustee and able to uncover some of the dealings over there….just wait when that state-ordered external audit uncovers some of the shenanigans going on under Harris the First.

This is just sad! My family and I have donated a very generous amount of money to the University over the years and Hubbard’s membership on the board makes me want to rethink that. These policies sound like they belong to the other USC (Southern California)! I will be calling my friends and tell them join me in not donating another dime if Hubbard doesn’t step down!

Reply
GamecocksForever March 10, 2014 at 1:39 pm

I agree. I’ve been donating for years, but if this is how it’s going to be, count me out. Stepping down won’t work. We can’t make an obnoxious lawyer step down. Time to fire the guy or you’ll be forfeiting loyal donors.

Why the sudden fuss re:Hubbard? Just because he was elected to chair the ABA doesn’t mean he has personally adopted 100% of its political agenda. And what does “on your dime” mean? The ABA is not a governmental entity. And finally, how are these positions inconsistent with the leadership of the University? Last time I checked, the USC Board was hardly a bastion of conservative political philosophy. But hey, you have Tommy Cofield on there, so what are you complaining about?

Reply
Forevertothee March 10, 2014 at 3:28 pm

As the ABA President, Hubbard “is the principal spokesperson of the Association” thus he has to push their agenda. Also, Hubbard has been a member of the ABA’s House of Delegates for almost 25 yrs. and on the “Strategic Planning and Action Committee” of the ABA since 2008 so he can’t walk away from this way of thinking. Basically, he has created these policies he will now be advocating and pushing the Country towards.

Reply

He doesn’t even have to resign… He could just be a gentlemen and not seek another term so that this discussion is over. By stepping down, Hubbard would show that he puts the good of the University first and is not only interested in his own self!!!!

Reply
Old Gamecock2001 March 11, 2014 at 9:14 am

It is obvious that Hubbard’s personal agenda and his ABA
pledge to “follow and uphold” the these far left “policies” create unnecessary
issues for USC. This will not end anytime soon. Hubbard will be traveling the
country as primary spokesman for the ABA’s liberal positions and he will be
asked all over the county about USC. This will become a national story because of his position and will likely cause many individual and corporate givers to walk away. He should do the right thing and retire. Anything short will simply be putting his
self-interest our University.

Remember Trent Lott. He put the intuition over self. If Hubbard stays, our University brand will be irreparably damaged time and time again as he speaks around the country.
Look what is happening to college of Charleston with McConnell and the
flag.
How will USC look with its Trustee advocating public funding of abortion, gun control, amnesty and all of the other far left positions.
Hubbard, you are a lawyer, you have a conflict and you know it. Retire
before you hurt our University any further.

Reply
Trent Lott March 11, 2014 at 11:15 am

I wasn’t nearly as self-serving as Hubbard! I at least knew when to walk away instead of embarrassing myself! My advice retire and enjoy that huge pension the ABA is going to give you for making speeches promoting their agenda across the county.

Reply
Keen Observer March 11, 2014 at 11:08 am

Quick question…. What if the ABA decided it to push for Universities to offer tax-payer funded abortions in the student health center… Would Hubbard as ABA president have to push the University to adopted this policy? It seems like as the ABA’s “principal spokesperson” he would have to advance this possible agenda.
