TAMMY, SIDNEY MOORER CHARGED IN HIGH PROFILE DISAPPEARANCE
Both individuals arrested last week in connection with the December disappearance of 20-year-old Heather Elvis have been charged with kidnapping, according to booking files posted by Horry County (S.C.) authorities.
Tammy Moorer, 41, was originally charged with two counts of indecent exposure and one count of obstruction of justice. Her husband Sidney Moorer, 38, received identical charges.
That was Saturday, though … on Sunday, kidnapping was added to the list of charges against the couple.
Elvis was last seen on December 17. Her car – a green 2001 Dodge Intrepid – was discovered two days later at a boat landing near Socastee, S.C.
Elvis was believed to have been involved in a romantic relationship with Sidney Moorer in the months prior to her disappearance. In fact according to a reporter who claims to have interviewed Tammy Moorer a month ago, she stated that Heather Elvis and her husband had sex in her car “a total of three times.”
The Moorers have an open marriage – meaning they are allowed to have multiple sexual partners.
“(Sidney Moorer) ended it when he realized something wasn’t right about her,” Tammy Moorer told the reporter.
According to Tammy Moorer, Elvis initiated the sexual relationship with her husband.

That’s just made up nonsense on the part of Moorer…”Ooh, ‘they’ are after me.” Shades of OJ, who is still looking for the man who killed Nicole.
2 UFO’s just landed in Charleston.
More pervert pubs, this is old.
Political party has zip to do with any of it. What a fucking idiotic statment to make.
Go away pub!
No chance of that, deluded fool.
Pervert pubs? Is that a cross between an Irish pub and a strip club? Doesn’t sound half bad.
Part of TBG is morbidly curious about the “Indecent Exposure” charges.
Another part of TBG…
Really.
Does.
Not.
Want.
To.
Know.
Walk away, friend. Walk away…
They sent the girl a video of them (Moorers) having sex.
I know…as I said…walk away. Quickly!
I saw mention of them having Tammy on cam at broadway at the beach exposing herself too.
While the “Yecccch Factor” is off the charts…does this make for an Indecent Exposure charge?
*Like a moth to a flame…*
Curiosity killed the cat, but there are things far worse than death, my friend. What you see cannot be unseen.
One of the indecent exposure charges was for this address:
1317 Celebrity Cir
That’s the Tilted Kilt. IF they sent Heather pics/video – that’s where they were taken. My guess is… yes, they sent her something. (ew) And since they were charged with doing so on Dec 17th-18th, that says a lot. At the least, it says that Tammy DID in fact know who Heather was before she went missing, not after, as she originally claimed.
Sadly, I’m not surprised at this outcome; it figures this creepy couple is responsible for this young woman’s disappearance. It’s very tragic, because I’m sure they murdered her. My heart goes out to the Elvis family.
White trash. All of them.
A girl may be dead at the hands of a couple of monsters, what a heartless creep you are. Pretty damned trashy of YOU to include her in that.
Not girl…. WOMAN….20 yrs old who decided to go after a married man…doesnt make it right for her to go missing but nothing good has ever come of this sort of situation. Would of thought her deacon father would of taught her that.
Her father may not have known. She was grown, living on her on. Plus this man may have told her he is separated. You don’t know the actual facts, none of us do.
She’s young and immature. Cut her some slack. She certainly did not deserve the fate she met.
More like young and manipulative. She certainly knew how to use her sexuality as a tool. Being young is no excuse for being evil and stupid. She knew the difference between right and wrong, and if chasing married men while working in a quasi strip club in some twisted game of sexual domination is considered proper behavior, then this current generation of youth is hopelessly lost. She obviously didnt even bother to use birth control screwing around. Her actions had consequences, she bears some responsibility for the events that unfolded, THAT is the point here. Pointing out that risky lifestyles are dangerous is not the same as “blaming he victim.”
That 38 year old -man- was the adult, and should have been the one to say no to a -girl- that age with a crush. Were you a genius who made all the right decisions at 20? No one is, I don’t care how much you want to think we are capable of sainthood at 20 years old, you’re wrong and ironically even more stupid for this way of thinking now at your age.
They were both adults.
Double standards, you are saying the entire fault lied with the married man because he was older, as if using her sexuality is somehow irrelevant. Read her tweets she was as morally corrupt as Bubba and her age had nothing to do with it. She was old enough to know exactly what she was doing. Feminists fought to equalize the playground on sexual aggression, but when it trouble happens they always revert to the excuse the man should have known better. Sorry, women wanted to be sexually liberated, equals in the sexual domination game, and they must bear the responsibility for their own morally bankrupt decisions. If they had been strangers and she was abducted and raped her moral character would have had no impact, however she set the course with her own actions. High risk lifestyles and morally bereft decisions sometimes bear rotten fruit. Thats the sad reality that no amount of teary rationalization and gender excuses can diminish.
Unless we are talking justifiable homicide, a murderer is usually entirely at fault for the murder he commits.
Do you also blame rape victims for wearing short skirts?
You keep pounding the “blame the victim” mantra in this case, as if she was abducted by a stranger and left for dead. You are too dense to comprehend the responsibility she assumed when she used her sexual aggression to willingly pursue this married Bubba. Since you are too stupid to understand the causal relationship between immoral behavior and consequences, there is no point in trying to explain it anymore. Keep watching Myrtle Manor, it suits you.
You have denied that Moorer was entirely at fault. If he’s not entirely at fault, that means you believe Heather is partly at fault and, therefore, partly to blame for her own demise. Of course I’m going to “keep pouding the ‘blame the victim” mantra,” if that’s what you continue to do.
And you also make a lot of assumptions about her knowledge of “Bubba’s” marital status. Did he tell her that he was married? Did tell her he was in an open relationship with a wife who consented to casual flings? I have not seen anything that indicates that she used her “sexual aggression” to prey on this poor, married man. Nevertheless, you portrayed Heather as a slut and then assumed facts that fit your image of her.
Read her twitter, oh hapless one. Bubbas wifes name was tattooed on his belly, staring her right in the face. His FB page clearly showed he was married and all the party gals always check out their paramours FB pages. There can be no doubt she knew he was married. This is Socastee not NYC. Decent women do not run around meeting married men at 3am at boat landings. Trashy women doing reckless slutty behaviors do not deserve to be painted as angels, neither do they deserve to be slain. Ye shall reap what ye sow.
Do we know what he told her? Do we know that he was up front with her and told her he was married but in an open relationship. I don’t think we do. According to the article, they were in an open relationship.
I browsed the twitter. She strikes me as young and immature. Not an angel, but not necessarily a bad girl either (I don’t get hung up on judging people solely based on their sexuality, as you seem to). Probable poor self esteem; hence her ending up with a loser like Sidney. Probable big heart. Definitely loved by her father and family.
In any event, you should feel proud for telling everyone what an an “exceedingly trashy” slut she was that got what she deserved. High five, dude. Who gives a shit if her family or friends read this blog. She was a “crazy ho” who should have known better! She reaped what she sowed, and we should have no sympathy for her!
If they cared about her reputation her family should have kept her out of seedy trash bars and tattoo parlors and home at 3am instead of worrying about what uninvolved observers are saying after the fact. Your Freud impersonation sucks btw.
Your back has grass on it, Mrs Einstein. Adjust your tilted kilt.
No one deserves to have bad things happen to them but there are no innocents in this twisted little affair. I didn’t include her. She included herself.
A little judgemental this morning?
She “included herself” in having sex with a creep. Such things happen all the time and rarely end in murder.
Plus it was an open marriage. You can’t be the harlot who breaks up a marriage, when the two people have already decided they accept others into the bedroom. Tammy just didn’t like Heather because she got too attached to sidney after he got her pregnant.
Is it confirmed that she was pregnant?
So in your mind the open marriage makes the situation a lot classier?
So we shouldn’t be even a little bit put off by a young woman having an affair with a married man? It may happen all the time but that doesn’t make it right. Again, no one deserves to have bad things happen but if you play with fire…
I think there are some opinions you should keep to yourself.
Why?
Because otherwise you prove to everyone that you are either a troll or an insensitive ass. Which better fits you?
Pick one. I don’t much care about being considered a troll or insensitive as much as I care about being right.
Your opinion is “right”?
My use of white trash or trashy was an indictment of all the parties’ moral failings. By the moral standards that most of us adhere to in South Carolina, a young woman having a sexual relationship with a married man, whether he is in an open marriage or not, is depraved. I imagine that Health Elvis was at least a little ashamed of it too since it was not something that she shared with her parents.
And being judgmental and calling others names is trashy, too. This is particularly true when you are dealing with a murder victim who cannot defend herself. It is also an indictment of a small mind and, if you will, your own moral failing.
I can live with that.
Tammy and Sidney are obviously white trash, but I hope you aren’t including Heather in that sentiment. She comes from a good family, and if we judge everyone on their sexual indiscretions at 20 years old, well I guess most of us are fubared. You’re ignorant.
They’re all trashy. Good family? Great. Act like it.
Your comments are certainly trashy. I will give you that.
So is it confirmed that she was pregnant??
This girl was exceedingly trashy read her tweets and look at her pics. She must have been trying to out trash the Myrtle Manor morons. Whether her family was “good” or not, somewhere along the line this young woman decided she wanted to take the darker path. Ultimately her choice. Tatts and strip clubs, mindless drunken unprotected sex with any dumb slob just so you can tweet about it, Teen Moms and Party Down South is such a fine aspiration. Go to Broadway at midnight on Friday and watch them puking and acting stupid, then blithely excuse it all away to “they are young.” Oh well, young and stupid sometimes ends up young and dead, thats the reality, whether its wrapping a car around a phone pole or becoming entwined with married psychopathic losers. Sometimes you survive your stupidity sometimes you dont, its called Darwinism and its alive and well in MB.
What exactly is the point of disparaging a young murder victim who can no longer defend herself? Is there are a larger point you are trying to make, or are you just a sanctimonious, small-minded puritan?
You are obviously too much of a surface thinker to comprehend the words I posted. Try reading them again without your hat on backwards. The concept of behavior and responsibility is beyond you.
So what deep point am I missing? If you blame the victim for her own death, I think it is you who fails to understand the concept of responsibilty.
She wasnt an innocent victim, she precipitated the danger thru her own immoral reckless behavior. Therefore she had some level of responsibility for what happened. That does NOT mean I condone murder for being a slut. In this case everyone is a loser, primarily because of her own actions. This is my opinion based on her twitter account for all the world to see. There, I explained it, now come back with your same lame response that I am “blaming the victim.”
“Everyone is a loser, primarily because of her own actions.”
So you admit that she is *primarily* at fault, and then deny that you are blaming the victim?
And pretty solid logic, too: Guy fucks girl. Guy kills girl. Girl is primarily responsible because she’s a slut.
If she had stayed home at 3am she would still be alive. She wasnt abducted from her bedroom, so yes, she bears responsibility. Reverse the situation, young horny guy goes to meet older married woman he has been messing with and the womans husband kills the young horny guy. Would you feel as sanctimonious about the dead horny young guy as you do about this horny silly young woman Miss Elvis? I bet you would say “he got what he deserved.”
Going out at 3am didn’t kill her. If you believe the charges, the Moorers killed her. They had full control over that act. They decided whether to pull the trigger (or stab her or whatever). She may have unwittingly put herself in a risky situation, but she did not cause the act. And the key word is “unwittingly.”
If a rape victim hadn’t worn revealing clothes and “dressed like a slut,” she might not have tempted that rapist to rape her. This is similar to the logic you are using.
I would feel the same way about a “dead horny young guy.”
Now youre just lying like a good libtard. Right, “good ole boy?”
Get the needle ready!
the wife is prob the one who done all of it look at her and who would want to have sex with either one of them I’m sure that beautiful girl didn’t try to have sex with him come on now people
yeah, well you would be wrong…the girl sought him out. check her twitter..
twitter.com/HeatherElvis
Another tatted up party girl working at a quasi strip club and dropping her pants for everybody in town, from her tweets you can tell she is a crazy ho. They live a risky lifestyle then everyone cries when something bad happens and their family acts shocked. Stay home at 3am instead of bed jumping from one married jerk to another. MB is a trap with all the drugs and booze for these wanna be Myrtle Manor morons. Myrtle Morons all!
Blame the victim, eh?
Regardless of her choices, she met an extreme and cruel fate that she did not deserve. She was young and immature, but she was obviously still loved by her father and family.
Exactly. I can’t believe the way these people are talking about a 20 year old girl. Kids that age make mistakes like this constantly, then they grow up and marry respectably and no one ever thinks anything of their past indiscretions. Its the two beasts who did this to her who have earned the title of scum, not the missing girl.
20 year old woman.
TBG suspects that associating with folks like the Moorers is far more dangerous than the average drunk driving incident.
People make poor decisions that result in unfair consequences every day.
IE: While TBG woulda popped a cap in Trayvon if he was in Zimmerman’s position (as TBG understands it)…Trayvon still did not *deserve* to die.
TBG also knows things.
Huge difference being that when you drive drunk you place *others* at risk. When you screw around with a redneck in an open marriage, you put yourself at risk of possibly STDs and a lot of drama — but you don’t legitimately put your self at risk of being a murder victim. It is not something “reasonably foreseeable.”
And come on, TBG. You aren’t really equating Travon’s actions with what Heather did, are you?
Not equating. Comparing.
Both made serious judgmental errors and paid too heavy a price. TBG (and TBG will bet OGOB, as well) has made plenty of judgmental errors, as well. Fortunately (for us), we are still around to argue with each other…..
Interestingly enough, there is a similar case in Orangeburg now. Apparently the victims only *mistake* was running with “the wrong crowd”.
Yeah, but there was a huge difference in the degree of their judgmental errors. One jumped another man and put a beat down on him. The other fucked around with someone who later turned out to be (presumably) a sociopath.
And, yes, I’m sure we both made plenty of judgmental errors as we made our way through life. More than anything, I think Heather was simply unlucky.
And who knows why I’m wasting my time defending her against a couple of assholes (not you), because I AM wasting my time. I have two young daughters, so I can hardly imagine what Mr. Elvis is suffering through.
There is a huge difference in that one was a white woman and the other was a black boy. Draw your own kkkonclusions as to what your sympathies say about you.
I’m sure you’ve heard the line that it’s “better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and to remove all doubt.” In this case, you may want to stop typing.
is the difference between a physical assault and a consensual fling with a casual lover too complex for you to understand?
Assault or self defense? Kkkeep digging that hole.
You don’t know Heather, and no she was not the type to jump into bed with just anyone, you ignorant idiot.
From the mugshots of Bubba the Stud she was extremely UN picky. Seems like she WOULD jump in bed with just anyone if that guy made her horny. Please dont equate these observations of her lousy moral character with minimizing the heinous crime that happened to her. Thats the liberal way out and you are missing the point. There is a lesson here that poor morals and seedy associations are inherently dangerous. Look at all the lives ruined, and hers lost because of an absolute lack of moral compass, of which if there is any doubt just read her twitter account. The young lady was out of her mind or just real stupid. Sadly with Myrtle Manor/Teen Moms/hip hop/rap/club life as the new aspiration for these young people these type of tragedies will increase. These are the results of the race to the moral bottom.
boris knows things.
Were you young once? Did you experiment sexually, or were you a puritan who missed out and is now jealous of those who didnt? Did you speed and put your life at risk? Did you drink too much at a party, or open your mind and experiment with drugs? Did you ever get in a fight over something stupid?
Maybe you lived a simple and boring life, but most youth that I knew (including myself) went through a phase where they took risks because they were not mature enough to appreciate the bigger picture and the true consequences of their actions.
Most I knew also grew out of it. Each mistake was a learning experience, and with each mistake made, wisdom was gained.
But its nice to have someone come on these boards and disparage a young murder victim who can no longer defend herself. Not exactly sure what motivates you and your buddy Yelsewh to blame a victim for the cruel fate she suffered, but it strikes me as small minded.
You takes the risks, you gets the results. Sometimes you survive to learn, sometimes you end up killed by a Bubba with a Disney fetish. Your surface thinking prevents you from being able to distinguish moral discussion and the repercussions of venal behavior from “disparagement.” Nice try though. Keep emoting. And turn your hat around.
You understand the concept of foreseeable versus unforeseeable risk, right? An STD or pregnancy is a foreseeable risk to having unprotected sex. Overdose is a foreseeable risk to shooting heroin of unknown purity. But death by homicide is not a foreseeable risk to fucking a creep who is in an open relationship.
You can rationalize it all you want, but you are simply a judgmental and hypocritical asshole with your own moral deficiency. Maybe your resentment of these “crazy hos” is because you never had the pleasure of enjoying their company? God bless them, if you ask me.
BTW, I don’t think “venal” means what you think it does.
Yes, what can trouble be foreseeable about sleeping around with married Bubbas, blaming them for pregnancy, being a homewrecker, what harm can come of that? Seems like fine behavior to all you backward hat Bubba crowd. Keep blessing them as they go thru life creating misery and bringing more screwed up kids outside of marriage into the world. Tilted kilts Teen Moms Party Down Southers Myrtle Morons, they are the new example we must cherish and emulate. Turn your hate around Bubba, maybe you will learn something. Or not.
Maybe you missed the part about the open marriage?
Here’s a newsflash for you: if you knowingly consent to your spouse sleeping around, it’s not cheating. Unless you are the type that believes sex is dirty, there is nothing inherently immoral about a sexual relationship between consenting adults.
The rest of your post is a non sequitur, but that’s par for the course for your style of posting.
And by the way, does the slut-shaming misogyny come natural to you? Or did it come from years of bitterness against all the “sluts” who slept with your friends but not you? Or because a lover burned you in the past? Perhaps it was both?
Quit trying to project your pseudo babble onto me and answer the question; young horny guy goes to meet older married woman he was screwing with. Womans husband kills young horny guy. Would you be saying his studliness didnt merit his being killed? Or would you be saying “he was asking for trouble and got what he deserved.”
I’ll answer your question – hell no, guy wouldn’t deserve to be killed. This would especially be true if the woman was in an open relationship. A wife is not your property.
But you keep dodging my questions. Probably because there is a bit of truth to them. You have issues with women. You are a misogynist who distrusts them. You were either burned badly or were denied your fun by all the “sluts” who slept with all those assholes — or maybe a bit of both. Or maybe you are just ultra-religious or something and see sex as inherently dirty. Maybe I’m wrong on the causes, but something caused your deep resentment.
But don’t give up yet. WIth a little therapy, maybe you can address these issues and finally meet a “nice girl” on eharmony. There is still hope for you.
Keep trying Bubba. You might get your online Psych 101 degree yet. Mail in more coupons. You answered my hypothetical in your usual surface thinker way, you say a young man wouldnt deserve to be killed, but I seriously doubt you would be online beating your chest about the injustice of it all. Heres another hypothetical to blow your glass lined mind, If this trashy young womans family had inculcated in her to stay away from married low life Bubbas with tattoos she would still be alive. Therefore the family is partly responsible too. Methinks you like the young shaved ones as well. Right Bubba?
Does anyone know the story behind the indecent exposure charges?? I read multiple times it was because Tammy and Sidney sent Heather pics of them having sex?? So did Heather file a report before she went missing or did they find it on her phone records? (Sorry not sure how all of it works)
I live in Myrtle Beach, and have been following this tragic chain of events. While I am not involved in the search, the investigation or with the people involved, no one should jump to conclusions. While the Moorer’s are obviously involved in her disappearance, judging a young woman on her unfortunate choices, and where she worked is ignorant. No one knows the details of the relationship, who initiated, who ended or who told who what. What I do see is two older adults with an “open” relationship, and a young woman most likely unprepared to deal with that.
I think back to when I was 20, and am glad that things I said or did at that age, are not recorded electronically to be held against me. We all have done things in our past that we may not be proud of, we have all said things in our youth that we should be glad are most likely forgotten; This is someones daughter and sister, and regardless of her choices or words, she does not deserve the smear campaign of rumor and speculation.
The truth is an absolute defense to a defamation claim. Her character is on full display in her Twitter account.
And as I have partially stated, the electronic age and the use of it have laid it all out for anyone to read an interpret at will. No one knows the true meaning of a short tweet other than the person that wrote it. We all vent and rant about our day, we all have said things that may be taken out of context. Unless you personally know the person, the situation, or are privy to their personal thoughts, judging a person off of a Twitter, Facebook or any social media account, is still ignorant.
People present themselves in social media as they are or as they wish to be and you don’t need intimate personal knowledge of a person to realize that they’re trashy.
And again, you make no sense, and have made my point. Social media is a free for all, and to pretend you know someone based off of their Tweets or Facebook status is ridiculous. This goes for ANYONE, not just this particular instance. I am sure Ted Bundy would have been completely charming in his Tweets.
I’m sure that you’re right, she merely wanted people to think that she was trashy. Brilliant!
And again, that is your opinion of her based on what you think is going on, or being implied. But this can go round and round, so you have a great day :)
What am I missing?
Tilted Kilt: Trashy.
Tattoos: Trashy.
Alcohol, drug and sex references on Twitter: Trashy.
Homophobic references on Twitter: Trashy.
You are a piece of shit. I’m told by Disqus that I’ve already made this comment. It’s worth repeating, because it is obviously true.
You have prima facie evidence that I am in fact made from excrement? I’d say that the fact that I’m typing this response undercuts your argument but I’m willing to listen to reason.
How about douche? That might be a better fit for you.
Pro tip. Next time you want to bash a probable victim of murder, it’s generally a good idea to keep it to yourself.
How am I bashing her? She was trashy. End of story.
You must want people to think you are an ass. Brilliant!
You are a piece of shit.
Stop beating around the bush.
You are a piece of shit.
How do you really feel?
Go back to fucking rock your momma left you under.
What a novel response. You must be in a creative field like advertising or something.
I’m floored by the judgmental comments about the missing young lady. Firstly, all jobs in myrtle beach for young people are service industry/tourist oriented jobs. Good luck finding something ‘better’ – you won’t. And yes you will make more tips if you’re a cute girl showing your belly, and no, showing your belly doesn’t make you a stripper; she worked as a -waitress-. People like you visit myrtle beach and check these young ladies out and you don’t complain then. Secondly, she was not ‘crazy’ – you people just haven’t made it a habit of reading the twitter musings of hormonal young women. I see absolutely no evidence that she was any ‘crazier’ than your average girl in her late teens/early 20s – and yes I have read every bit, and more. Consider her age – barely an adult. Consider the things each of you did at that age. The truth about Heather is that she was loved by more people than probably you or I are loved by. She was a just starting to get into her dream career – cosmetology, where she could use her artistic skills to make people feel beautiful, like she wanted to feel. She would have had a good life someday as an adult because she was finding herself, and because she had a lot of love and support. I had my share of misguided crushes too when I was a very young woman, and fortunately older men usually had the good sense to tell me -NO- a few times, knowing that I was not mature enough to get involved with them. Mistakes are part of growing up, for all of us. Each of you has made mistakes in young adulthood, but how easily you forget when you want to make half-baked misguided judgments about people who you don’t know. Many hearts are broken, irreparably so over this – so how dare you try to tarnish the value of this young lady in the eyes of so many who grieve over her.
Young people engage in all kinds of reckless behavior that ends with accidents, homicide or suicide. I doubt you would extend the same kind of understanding to a 20 year old man who died in a single-car collision while driving drunk that you have to Heather Elvis.
So then you’re basically saying that driving drunk and getting into an accident is comparable to having a couple of sicko swingers murder you when they want you out of the picture? How can anyone argue with that sound logic.
You are either too simple to understand the comparison I was making or are being intentionally obtuse. Let me make this simple for you:
Drunk driving, like screwing around with a married man, is reckless behavior that may eventually lead to a tragic outcome.
You’re fringe-picking, and frankly its hard to dignify such a mess of irrelevant blathering with a response. I obviously have to explain why though, and that annoys me. Nothing you’re saying actually makes a sound argument against my point, and none of it justifies petty people making snide remarks about the victim. Your first premise was “how would you feel about – .” Who gives a damn how I would feel about what a drunk driver does. I am clearing up misconceptions about the situation at hand. If people continue to make incorrect statements about Heather, they are in fact incorrect. They can listen to reason, or they can behave like a jerry springer show audience for kicks – and unfortunately they seem more fond of the latter. What do they actually gain from calling a missing girl a tramp, on the internet? The cheapest type of satisfaction. You’re cheap, too – and I’m done with you.
No, you’re nit-picking because either you were friends with her, or because she looks like you, or because you engaged in some of the same risky behaviors when you were younger… the exact reason really doesn’t matter. The fact is that she was reckless and it got her killed. The kind of recklessness she displayed is no different than drunk driving, the difference is that you see fit to demonize the drunk driver because it is socially acceptable to do so.
I think you might be the one struggling with logic if you compare an action that puts lives at risk with an affair (in an open marriage too, you dolt).
Lives weren’t at risk here? Someone tell Heather Elvis.
Seriously? She didn’t put anyone else’s life at risk. She died, yes, in a very freak occurence.
Are you this thick in real life or is this just some troll schtick for cheap thrills?
She put her own life at risk. Furthermore murder isn’t anymore of a “very freak occurence” than death by DUI in this country.
Annual # of alcohol-related* auto deaths: ~18,000
Annual # of murders: ~15,000
That’s the # for drivers with ANY detectable alcohol in their system, not legally drunk drivers. The number for drivers who are 0.08 is lower.
…and TBG suspects it is classified as “alcohol related” whether or not the drinking driver was at fault….
A woman is probably more likely to die at the hands of her husband than she is at the hands of a casual lover.
In absolute numbers? Of course, you may as well be arguing that the sky is blue. On a percentage basis? I’m not so sure about that. Add in adultery and the white trash factor and the chances increase exponentially.
In probably a percentage basis, too. In a casual relationship, there probably has not been enough time to develop the hate necessary to kill your partner. But in any event, I was simply showing how flawed your analysis was. You compared all drunk driving deaths with ALL murders, and not murders committed by one casual lover against another.
You referred to her murder as a “very freak occurence” and this was in the context of my analogy comparing her reckless behavior to drunk driving. I posted the gross numbers, including a VERY charitable one on alcohol related deaths, to illustrate that Elvis’ murder was not a “very freak occurence” and certainly not an unforseeable consequence of her behavior.
I said she died in a very freak occurence. I did not say that every murder is a freak occurence.
And yes, it was a freak occurence. It is very rare that casual sex between consenting adults ends in murder. You can be murdered for wearing nice shoes that your killer wants. It does not mean your murder was reasonably foreseesable.
Her murder was no more of a freak occurence than an alcohol related driving fatality. Millions of people drive drunk or buzzed every single day and the overwhelming majority make it to their destination without so much as hitting a curb. Does that mean driving impaired is advisable? Certainly not. I guess that the bigger problem I have with you characterizing her murder as a “freak occurence” is that the term implies that this was a completely random act. You make it seem as if she was simply walking down the sidewalk on a sunny day and was struck by lightning. That is not the case. If you pursue a married person for sex then you put yourself at risk of being harmed by a jealous spouse no matter what the cheater tells you about the state of the marriage (separated, open, etc). Plus, it is just plain trashy.
I think we are going in circles here.
Good post, good ponts all. Some of these people are deeply sick.
Moorers now charged with murder.

Deeply saddening, because it means she is known to be dead.
Comments on here calling the victim trash and prattling on ignorantly about some poltiical meaning to this tragic story that does not exist absolutely fill
me with rage. My distant kinship to the Elvis family has nothing to do with it. It is the rage of a father of a daughter only a bit older than Heather. Regardless of ignorant and biased opinion, she was a VICTIM of horrible preditors. The Elvis’ are living every parent’s nighmare, and have been living it since day one. My prayers are with them today.
A person can be trashy and still be the unfortunate victim of violent crime. No one is disputing that matter. I have children of my own and I certainly feel sympathy for the Elvis family.
A person can be douchey and NOT be victim of a violent crime. You are proof. The fact that you feel the need to call a victim trashy is very telling about your own character. Poster heal thy self.
The charges have just been upped to murder on the Moorers. Their poor kids…
Sad, my heart goes out to those that loved her. May she rest in peace. May those that did this to her pay. Such a tragic end to a young life.
What a sad situation. I hope her family finds peace.
I do not think for one minute that she was going with that scumbag. Scumbags often blame other people for their evil deeds. She was their victim period. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU WHO BELIEVE THE MEDIA AND A SCUMBAG’S SIDE WITHOUT HEARING THE VICTIM’s SIDE! If she did sleep with that piece of trash, I will be more leaning to believe he drugged her. There are two sides to all stories and unfortunately we are only hearing the trash side. .PLEASE stop now and stop believing everything you hear. She was a victim PERIOD!
In an interview Terry Elvis said that Heather had a physical relationship with Sidney Moorer. This was based on conversations that Terry had with Heather’s friends and co-workers.
