Still reeling from a disastrous bid for the U.S. Congress – and facing a credible challenge to hang onto his S.C. House seat – fiscally liberal state lawmaker Chip Limehouse (RINO-Charleston) reportedly has his sights set on another run at higher office.
Sources familiar with Limehouse’s thinking tell FITS he is eyeing a bid for S.C. Comptroller General – a seat currently held by another ethically challenged “Republican,” Richard Eckstrom.
Limehouse has had conversations regarding the office with his fellow fiscal liberals in the “Republican” majority – including powerful Speaker of the House Bobby Harrell (RINO-Charleston).
Will he run?
We’ll have to wait and see … but if Limehouse couldn’t convince his own House district to support his recent congressional bid, we don’t see him faring especially well at the statewide level. Of course he’s got plenty of money to burn … and obviously no shortage of ambition.
One Republican – Hartsville businessman Michael Luppe – has already announced his intention to challenge Eckstrom in this June’s GOP primary election for Comptroller General.
The incumbent has come under fire in recent months for failing to do his job …

Limehouse: another disgrace and embarrassment to the state of South Carolina.
Can’t this guy just get a job as manager of a Krispy Kreme or something?
He would consume the profits. Lucky for him, government doesn’t need profits. They just raise taxes when they run out of money.
Maybe Chip should run for Mayor against the 23% must recuse himself on house votes Leon Stavarnakis? At least house 119 deserves better
that dude is a freaking retard!
Mama told me I came into the world shortly after Chip had lunch and a stomach virus hit him.
Stupid wins! It’s the trend.
I don’t know about you folks, but *I’m* getting on board that train!!
Once I release the pictures of him riding his horse into the ground and then eating it he’s done.
