Congressman Endorses Lee Bright

U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) has endorsed the U.S. Senate campaign of State Senator Lee Bright – who along with three other challengers is vying to knock off incumbent fiscal liberal Lindsey Graham. “He’s a proven conservative who understands the proper limited role of government,” Stockman said of Bright. “Whether…

“Whether it’s the Second Amendment, the right to life or fighting against Obamacare, Lee has built a record that would immediately make him one of the top conservative leaders in the U.S. Senate.”

Stockman, a freshman, is running against a fiscally liberal Republican for the U.S. Senate in Texas, challenging establishment Sen. John Cornyn. He achieved national notoriety by walking out of U.S. President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address earlier this week.

“I left early after hearing how the President is further abusing his Constitutional powers,” Stockman said. “I could not bear to watch as he continued to cross the clearly-defined boundaries of the Constitutional separation of powers.”

Bright – who earlier in the day admitted his fundraising was “struggling” – welcomed the good news.

“We are thrilled to have Congressman Stockman’s endorsement,” Bright said. “He’s tough, he’s principled, and he is in Washington to rein in Washington. Lindsey Graham is in Washington to unleash Washington, and Steve Stockman knows it, and that’s why he took the unusual step of endorsing a Republican challenger.  He knows I’ll join him and Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rand Paul and others to roll back this cancerous behemoth of a government.”

In addition to anemic fundraising, Bright’s campaign has been rocked by disastrous personal financial revelations – causing many to question whether he can be an effective messenger on bread-and-butter fiscal issues.

In other words it’s going to take a lot more than an endorsement from an out-of-state congressman to get his campaign back on track.

S.C. Sen. Lee Bright – the anointed candidate of the Tea Party – has not revealed how much money he raised during the fourth quarter, although he told The (Columbia, S.C.) State newspaper that his fundraising has “struggled.” Bright raised roughly $102,000 during the third quarter.

Alrighty Steve, ya see, we got this kid who is running the number 2 spot as spoiler behind Grace. Lindsay has this thing in the bag. Ya see, we are funneling a million to each one out of the Senators re-election money – ya see, it’s complicated, but the dough will get there, you know. I mean, Stevie baby, who in their right mind would run against a warhorse like the Senator ya see. Anyway, this Grace kid is you know, easy to endorse, says the right things, got the pedigree, etc. Problem is Stevie, Stevie, damn you, are you paying attention, there you go, now listen, we need somebody to endorse this other chump. He will play ball cause he owes a shitload of paper to some folks, so anyway, call up some folks and endorse this guy. NO, you don’t have to go to South Carolina, not yet anyway. Just cut a short quote, we’ll get it out there , and you know Stevie, the party will not forget this. Good boy. Ok, yeah yeah, click.

I believe Stockman is in the running to succeed Michele Bachmann as the stupidest CongressCritter (I know, Louie Gohmert has been moved up to the Hall of Fame).

Jim DeMint is as smart as they come. He converted his entire campaign war chest to his personal bank account legally. He donated all of his campaign account to The Heritage Foundation. $2,000,000.00— then they hire him and pay him over $1,000,000.00 a year. Campaign cash to DeMint cash via a loophole in the law. Very creative and very smart.

I’m not surprised Lee Bright’s fundraising is “struggling.” Who in their right mind enjoys just throwing money away? My only question is, when he loses, will we still be stuck with him in the State Senate? Sure hope not. He can’t manage his way out of a truck stop and we want him working on the state budget? Help!!
