One person is dead after a shooting took place at a mental health facility in Chesterfield, S.C.
Sources informed FITS of the shooting earlier today. It was later confirmed to WBTV (CBS – Charlotte, N.C.) – which reported that the victim was a patient at the facility.
The gunman? According to WSOC (ABC – Charlotte, N.C.), the assailant was a probation officer who was shot by law enforcement officers in the aftermath of the attack.

Did the slain patient have a pebble in his shoe?
I think someone tried to steal his ring and shot him in the arm.
More Guns!
And your point is?
We need more guns.
Arm the insane!
They need protection from the mentally ill.
Constitution does NOT say right to bear arms with exception to the mentally ill. We constitutioners believe it as written. Everyone should be ARMED!!!!
I want to see open carry automatic weapons on the football field and the movie theater.
You aren’t too swuft, are you?
Naw, I’m dumb as a stump.

HUH?
The Second Amendment doesn’t say “except crazy people.”
Fits (this time, I am serious), you may want to re-check your information. From the sources I have read, to include this one on the WIS site, the Probation officer shot the patient after the patient attacked a doctor at the facility. I don’t believe a Probation officer was shot or attacked anyone.

I noted the dipsticks on WIS are already Monday-morning armchair-quarterbacking the Probation officer’s actions. I would bet a week’s pay they weren’t there and do not know what the officer was faced with. One of them who worked in the field talks about their “non-violent crisis intervention” (formerly PMAB or Progressive Management of Aggressive Behavior). IF the circumstances and the patient respond to that, all is well and good. If the patient has gone totally apeshit and is trying to butt rape the staff, bite off their faces, or like behavior, then I hope she gets the opportunity to demonstrate how well that works on such a person once day.
