Wouldn’t surprise me if MLK wasn’t a perfect person behind the scenes, no different than the bad things you can read about concerning Gandhi, Mandela, etc. Some of it is well documented, some of it is merely rumors and you have to choose whether you believe it or not. Doesn’t change what good he accomplished either way, which is what really matters and why we honor him and remember him with a holiday.
What would fulfill King’s dream is to reform the public education system so that every person whose child goes to it receives the benefit of reform, not passing some bullshit “choice” legislation that will only re-segregate the school population so that those stuck in public schools really do suffer and those who don’t will give no shits about it. Equality isn’t sending tax breaks over to people who already send their children to private school, it is reforming the option that is literally open to anyone and everyone at any time, yes, even the private schooled and home schooled kids.
So you’re placing the state of public schools at the feet of MLK?
