One of the best things comedian Dave Chappelle ever produced was “Black Bush,” a 2004 sketch in which the American-led invasion of Iraq was portrayed through the lens of a very different George W. Bush administration.
In case you missed it, click here (warning: the language is very NSFW).
Despite its coarseness, “Black Bush” remains as compelling an indictment of America’s military industrial complex (and interventionist foreign policy) as we’ve seen … a timeless rebuke of politicians like Bush, U.S. Sen. John McCain, U.S. President Barack Obama and South Carolina’s own Lindsey Graham.
Of course Graham has always been willing to go much further than his fellow “neoconservatives.”
For example, neither white Bush nor “Black Bush” ever admitted the invasion of Iraq was about oil.
Graham? He’s far less subtle when laying out the rationale for his proposed foreign invasions …
“Let’s get in on the ground,” Graham told Fox News when asked about American intervention in the 2011 Libyan conflict. “There is a lot of money to be made in the future in Libya. There’s a lot of oil to be produced.”
Nice …
Fortunately America is in the midst of a domestic energy revolution (no thanks to Graham’s proposed “cap and trade” energy tax) and doesn’t require as much foreign oil as it used to.
Still, it’s funny to see Graham dive headlong where even “Black Bush” refused to go …

We all know about it now, a useless war again for republican puppet masters for the new world order. The USA learned but SC won’t. Vote republican!

Bush actually did it legally…and democrats supported him, you ignorant cliche and myth jockey….
Just give your ass to Bush. He fucked up, along with Haley. His wars destroyed the USA, now 20 years to pay for it. For what?
It’s nice to live off of Kool-Aide spritzers, I guess…but it’s deadly too…
I guess you’re too big of an ass pain to be employed by anyone.
Drip, Drip, open wide !
Republicans don’t quite know, they have to pay for their mistakes. Their memory span must be 6 months at best. OH, Well, Can’t wait for Hillary to stomp ass. No more wars for you freeko. Sip your tea.
Screwed you and the US legally, to funny

President George W. Bush said in 2005 that keeping Iraqi oil away
from the bad guys was a key motive for the Iraq war:
‘If Zarqawi and [Osama] bin Laden gain control of Iraq, they
would create a new training ground for future terrorist attacks,” Bush said.
”They’d seize oil fields to fund their ambitions.”
“We can’t tolerate a new terrorist state in the heart of the
Middle East, with large oil reserves that could be used to fund its radical
ambitions, or used to inflict economic damage on the West,” he said the first
time.
“Extreme elements” in Iraq “want to control oil resources,” he said at second reference.
“They’ve got the capacity to use oil as an economic weapon,” he said the third time.
John McCain said in 2008:
My friends, I will have an energy policy that we will be talking
about, which will eliminate our dependence on oil from the Middle East that
will — that will then prevent us — that will prevent us from having ever to
send our young men and women into conflict again in the Middle East.
Sarah Palin said in 2008:
Better to start that drilling [for oil within the U.S.] today
than wait and continue relying on foreign sources of energy. We are a nation at
war and in many [ways] the reasons for war are fights over energy sources,
which is nonsensical when you consider that domestically we have the supplies
ready to go.
Key war architect – and Under Secretary of State – John Bolton said:
The critical oil and natural gas producing region that we fought
so many wars to try and protect our economy from the adverse impact of losing
that supply or having it available only at very high prices.
“Of course it’s aboutoil; we can’t really deny that,” said Gen. John Abizaid, former head of U.S. Central Command and Military Operations in Iraq, in 2007. Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan agreed, writing in his memoir, “I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil.” Then-Sen. and now Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said the same in 2007: “People say we’re not fighting for oil. Of course we are.”
These outcomes were by design, the result of a decade of U.S. government and oil company pressure. In 1998,Kenneth Derr, then CEO of Chevron, said, “Iraq possesses huge reserves of oil and gas-reserves I’d love Chevron to have access to.” Today it does.
In 2000, Big Oil, including Exxon, Chevron, BP and Shell, spent more money to get fellow oilmen Bush and Cheney into office than they had spent on any previous election. Just over a week into Bush’s first term, their efforts paid off when the National Energy Policy Development Group, chaired by Cheney, was formed, bringing the administration and the oil companies together to plot our collective energy future. In March, the task force reviewed lists and maps outlining
Iraq’s entire oil productive capacity.
Planning for a military invasion was soon under way. Bush’s first Treasury secretary, Paul O’Neill, said in 2004, “Already by February (2001), the talk was mostly about logistics. Not the why (to invade Iraq), but the how and how quickly.”
In its final report in May 2001 (PDF), the task force argued that
Middle Eastern countries should be urged “to open up areas of their energy
sectors to foreign investment.” This is precisely what has been achieved
in Iraq.
President George W. Bush said in 2005 that keeping Iraqi oil away from the bad guys was a key motive for the Iraq war
If by “bad guys” he meant “American consumers”…it was a surprisingly accurate statement.
Blackmail indeed.
All that was needed was a little Monistat for Condi’s mushroom cloud.
Wonder why gas was more than a dollar a gallon cheaper under Bush, than it is under your Filthy god-Obama. How many trilions have they been allowed totake from the poor, because of your greedy piece of $#!* master???
Obama has punished EVERY America w/ higher costs, and less opportunity…He is a disgusting disaster…And you are a Dumb@$$ cliche and fable-monger..
Al Quada trainned in the USA under BUSH, moron.
They hatched that plan in a few months. You may be the Biggest F*#k-wad in the history of Nazi Germany if you believe that liberal myth.
Yall are ignorant MoFos…
See Nikki for that one!
You may be the Biggest F*#k-wad in the history of Nazi Germany if you believe that liberal myth.
Even Mike Godwin would agree that Nazis are not germane to this discussion….
In Florida, governed by a Bush, no less
Uhm – not exactly the POS terrorists pilots were all in training here by December of 2000 – I believe Slick Willie was still president then.
see 2008 stuip!
Democrat (no drill) oil policy drove the gas price up for Bush’s last 6 months, then he released the reserves, and they went lower. (that Obama claimed credit for)…compared to 5 years and counting of an astronomical gas tax on all Americans. You are filthy, and Greedy bas*@r#s and liars on top of that…
They had WMDs and allowed Al Qaeda in to train and strengthen in Iraq…You F*#kin Idiot..
By now it seems you insufferable dumb@$$#$ would have figured out that Clinton’s threats over years to invade Iraq. Along w/ the media insistence that we warned them for years…the WMDs were removed. Yet Anti-American Pieces of $#!* like you, see Saddam- the rapist and child killer, Hussein as your Satanic hero. All because he hated Bush and Christians, like you…
I wish I could take your Hand-wringing, effeminate @$$ and place you in Iraq..and let you run your ignorant mouth to their gov’t, like you do toward people who carry your lazy @$$ over here….I’d LMAO when you figured out what a total piece of $#!* you, and your god-Obam are…right before they gave you what you deserve…
AlQaeda was a theat under BUSH’s nose, nimrod!
They had WMDs

Keep hatin’ bro…that’s all you got now (besides a Food Stamp card and a pink slip)….
And Obama’s numbers just get lower. You were, and have been a F*#kin’ Dupe all along. The rest of the people are catching up w/ me…while you still toke that D*#k…and look more and more ignorant day after day…
Catching up to you? Thanks for the giggle, Mr. Two Steps Back.
When GT posts comments like this one it reminds me of the question, “Has anyone heard about Randy the Brown-Nosed Reindeer?” Well, he’s just as fast as Rudolph but he can’t stop as fast….
The problem is: the media-democrats pounded on Bush so hard, and he never responded or defended himself. And the people who hated him came to believe the America-hating leftwing narrative, and only that,’
Some of the same D!*ks you gladly go knee-bent to slurp, voted to go into Iraq. When they figured out war is hell, politically convenient to oppose, and easy to bash….they ladled it it to all the simple-minded Dumb@$$, like you…and you’re so F*@kin drenched in their hateful dogma, you forgot all the things surrounding the invasion of Iraq. You are a closed minded idiot. And that is what the left has to have to manipulate its ridiculous campaigns.
And you are how we end up w/ an Obama…and you’re F*#kin stupid, after 5 years of Obama The Worst, you’re still singing that same ignorant song against Bush.
MARS, BITCHES!
Shifty submitted an application in the name of GrandTangerine for the group charter (which may be a one-way trip) to MARS. The rejection letter stated that “all applicants must be able to have a reading/writing comprehension level of at least a fifth-grade level (US Standards)”
PS: The application was for the only remaining position open – “Political Officer”
In SC, we will grade that on the curve system, ( SC standards ). Nikki approved by the way.
Tell me what we got from Iraq from the the Bush wars ? Also, Afganistan ? Other than brave American’s killed or wounded. Anyone ?
Obama?
Guess #2 — the creation of Grrrand-Tangerine, because without the Little (potus) B.O. he/she/them would not have anyone/anything to rrrumble or grrrumble about – and would be doomed to a very lonely, cold, isolated existence…..
Great answer. I like Hillary better!
Tell me what we got from Iraq from the the Bush wars ?
Higher oil prices, benefiting ‘Murrican oil producers and *our* “allies”, the House of Saud.
Also, Afganistan ?
The chance to build a pipeline from the ‘Stans to the Indian Ocean, bypassing Iran and Russia to the benefit of…wait for it…
….
…..
western oil companies.
Don’t drop that shit!
The dude was eating it toward the end of the video. Also, Shifty noticed that some of the background/extra folks almost exploded with laughter several times.
Shifty cracked a rib —- LAFFIN’..!!
TOO Cool shift.
Do not give up people of SC, we can defeat the KOCH brothers that run our state. Deo friends.
Tango, that’s not your name. I figured out you are Dennis Robman Clinton. And just pissed you’re not Nikki Haley.
