COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina junior guard Tyrone Johnson, who suffered a right foot injury during the first half of Wednesday’s SEC contest at Texas A&M, has been diagnosed with a right foot fracture after further evaluation in Columbia on Thursday, Gamecock head coach Frank Martin announced. Johnson’s injury will require surgery and he will be out indefinitely.
Johnson played in 16 contests this season for Carolina, averaging 11.2 points and a team best 3.4 assists per game. He tallied 11 double-figure scoring games and 11 games with at least three assists. Johnson averaged 2.9 rebounds per game and hit 75.3 percent from the foul line this season.
