Twenty-one million applications for firearm purchases were run through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) in 2013 – a 7.7 percent increase from 2012. That makes 2013 “the best year for firearm sales in history,” according to the Independent Firearm Owners Association.
Last year also marked the 11th straight year in which firearm sales increased.
Good. An armed populace is a safer populace – a correlation repeatedly documented by crime reports released each year by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Nonetheless, government went after Second Amendment rights in a big way following the tragic December 2012 school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut – with several states passing new barriers to firearm ownership.
Fortunately, courts are stepping in and protecting the right to keep and bear arms.
This website has been adamant in its defense of the Second Amendment – going so far as to urge civil disobedience of any law which infringes upon it. Why are we so “radical” on this issue? That’s easy: Because without the Second Amendment, none of the other Amendments matter all that much.
Widespread gun ownership by law-abiding citizens is vital to public safety (if for no other reason than criminals don’t abide by gun laws) … but it’s also an important check against government tyranny. Accordingly, we’re pleased to see the ranks of American gun owners continuing to climb.

Well said, Fits!!!! Good post!!!!
Here’s an idea for gun control: stop bringing up gun control. Fewer scares, fewer sales.
Love the pic: S&W M&P 9mm Pro. Own it. Love it. Carry it.
Can’t you get a beefier gun model? I like a guy who can pack two rods in the same pair pair of britches, and nobody’s gonna notice, except me.
