Hi,
My name is John Connolly with PluginGroup.com.
We are doing an outreach campaign for the National Rifle Association and have taken a particular interest in your website, FitNews.com.
Would you be willing to feature the NRA in an article on your website? If you’d like, I can provide you with a high quality article on a topic of your choosing.
Let me know if you are interested.
Best,
John

John: Thanks … but no thanks. This website is aggressively pro-Second Amendment. Unfortunately, the National Rifle Association does not represent the interests of American gun owners nearly as well as grassroots organizations. The NRA’s “friendly incumbent” policy, for example, places the group’s inside the Beltway clout ahead of the real needs of gun owners.

Nice feedback Mr. Folks. Personally their platform of “hunting” doesn’t cast near wide enough for what should be available to hunt.
Clearly the Second Amendment was designed as a “Clear and Present danger” to the politiks. Step out of line and be targeted.
You step”out of line” all the damn time and you’re still around.
The Second Amendment aint workin!
uh… what are the “real needs of gun owners”
Thanks in advance.
How much would they have paid you to feature their article?
Not enough

John’s letter strikes me as a flattering insult.
Excellent reply, SIc!!!!! If I might be allowed to elaborate a bit, I can give some details for John to chew on for a while. The NRA and the ILA in particular, seem to have really lost touch with what their members want and need and they are clueless about who is and is not a friend of the Second Amendment.
One of my “favorite” examples involves Lexington County’s immediate past Senator from District 23, Jake Knotts. At one time, Jake was seemingly pro-gun. He was instrumental in getting the current “shall issue” CWP law passed in SC. He was known to be a CWP instructor who gave free classes for his constituents. Somewhere along the line, Jake flipped. In 2008, when two reciprocity bills were in play in the Legislature, one from the Senate and one from the House, Jake did everything in his power to get the Senate version through, which provided fewer reciprocal states for SC than the House version would have. Thanks to Jake Knotts, SC is not reciprocal with Georgia. This means to legally carry in GA, a SC CWP holder must obtain a permit from some other state which is reciprocal with GA, so they can legally carry down there. An infamous YouTube video of Jake’s speech in the Senate showed him bleating about how he “had to protect” SC citizens from people who lived in other states who only had a CWP, “because they were friends with their local Sheriff. Thank you much, Jake, but I don’t need you protecting me from ANY legitimate CWP holder. I got mail from the NRA indicating they endorsed Jake over more Pro-2A candidate, Katrina Shealy. When I contacted NRA-ILA and asked why they did such a thing, they responded that even though Jake wavered in that instance, he was still a “known” factor and it was their policy to back the incumbent if they were at all Pro gun.
Four years later, in the Legislative session of 2012, Jake was still up to his old tricks. He was blocking a restaurant carry bill and was giving a lame excuse about how letting CWP holders carry where alcohol was served (even though NOT drinking), would encourage criminals and drug dealers to carry in those environs. His secretary told me that since Jake is a retired LEO, his friends in Law Enforcement told him this would be a bad bill and he was working with them. I contacted NRA-ILA as did several friends and family of mine, imploring them to not endorse Jake again. The operator I spoke with told me that the restaurant carry issue is a big deal with the NRA and to rest assure that their local legislative monitors would be checking into it. Well a few months later I get another missive from the NRA indicating that once again, they endorsed Jake over more Pro-2A candidate Shealy.
That was the end of my NRA membership renewals, Obviously, NRA-ILA is clueless. To make matters worse, the NRA endorses pseudo-Pro 2A Representative Mike Pitts from Greenwood and Laurens counties. Pitts has a NRA life membership, which appears to be nothing more than a good prop to trot out whenever he runs for re-election to convince the gullible that he is “one of us”. Pitts has a pattern of introducing ostensibly pro-gun legislation on a regular basis, which is always either embedded with fatal flaws which would hurt gun owners more than help them if passed, or which he torpedoes by adding those flaws at a later time. Mike Pitts, like Jake, is NOT PRO_GUN!!!!!
Mike Pitts made at least two good attempts to sabotage his restaurant carry bill, once by trying to increase CWP fees by 50% but extend their life only by 25%, and on another occasion, by trying to drastically increase jail time and fines for CWP holders who might wander into a restricted zone. His proposal would have raised maximum jail time from months to years and fines from hundreds to thousands of dollars. His secretary had the gall to tell me that Pitts was trying to convert the penalties from criminal to civil. Talk about pissing down my back and trying to tell me its raining!!!!!
Do we even need to mention the disgusting video of Wayne LaPierre bleating at some kind of event with Harry Reid present about how gun owners were safe with Harry around? REALLY????? What kind of crack is Wayne smoking these days?
John, unless and until the NRA comes back to reality and back to Earth, you can write me off as a permanent FORMER member.
Amen sir! You know your wolves in sheep’s clothing well! As usual, you are on target!
Fits should also be comended for turning them down. The grass roots organizations do a great job for the legal gun owners and their second amendment rights, which “SALL NOT BE INFRINGED”! It could not be more clear.
I too was sick to my stomach when the NRA endorsed Harry Reid. What an F-N
hypocrit!!
Keep your powder dry and your gun close! We live in a lawless cociety of drugs, gangs, knock out games and low life scum given a slap on the hand and being release to wreak havoc on the good, honest, law abiding citizens of this Country.
I love my State and Country;but, I dispise the idiots running them! This includes Ohaley, Obama and 99% of the others. We need to send them into their very lucritive, taxpayer funded retirements, set term limits and get these United States back on track for our children and grandchildren!
#Respect. Retirements should be ‘Re Appropriated’ for the use of the gubmint for the sole purpose of reducing the debt, which they created. Judge don’t send the store owner to jail because someone bounced a check in his/her store. #ObamaFailsAgain
STATISTS WANT YOUR GUNS.
Hell no! The NRA robocalled our house for a few times asking about surveys. I told them that Pierre was smoking crack or meth after listening to his “message”. Also, somehow, the NRA got my email address and were sending their propaganda to my email address. I filed complaints with GoDaddy, the registrar of the NRA domains, and their CEO, Bob Parsons, did nothing to terminate their domain registrations with GoDaddy. In the past, I have received numerous “kill confirmations” from GoDaddy. Yet, Parsons didn’t have the guts to termination the NRA’s domains.
Real needs of gun owners… now that would include killing kids, right? 194 kids dead since Sandy Hook. Yeah, gun owners are real responsible people. Second amendment gives you a right to kill kids, I guess…….. as long as you kill them responsibly??
How many have died in automobiles since then? Do you support banning these death machines, too? Do you happen to own one?
I left my Glock laying on the kitchen table all day and lots of people were around it. It didn’t kill anyone. I’m upset and mad. I’m calling Glock, I think my gun is defective. I keep hearing about how guns kill people and mine has yet to kill anyone, despite being given ample opportunity.
