This website seldom has anything good to say about U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (RINO-SC) – which we attribute to the fact Graham has seldom done anything good for us to speak of.
Still, blind acorns do find hogs every so often … or is it the other way around? We forget …
Anyway Graham – a warmongering fiscal liberal of the very worst sort – finally did something worthy of praise this week. Specifically, he declined to take advantage of an Obamacare exemption offered exclusively to members of Congress and their employees.
“I don’t think Members of Congress should get a special deal,” Graham said. “Obamacare is being pushed on the American people and we should live under it just like everyone else.”
And so instead of participating in the DC Health Link exchange and having 75 percent of his health care premium subsidized by taxpayers, Graham has chosen to enroll in Obamacare and take it up the rear with the rest of us.
Wait … does that explain something about his decision? Hmmm …
“As a 58-year old male living in Oconee County my insurance costs are going up about $400 a month, more than 200 percent, under Obamacare,” said Graham. “In addition, my health care coverage will be a fraction of what it used to be. Sadly, I’m not the only one who will feel the negative effects of Obamacare. It’s happening all over South Carolina.”
Exactly. Which is why Graham should have stood beside real Republicans who were fighting to defund this abomination instead of rolling over for Barack Obama.
Still, Graham deserves a modest amount of credit for acknowledging the rank hypocrisy of the Obamacare exemptions for members of Congress … and refusing to participate in the scam.

Cockroachshit
It’s all smoke and mirrors. He does this now, before the election, to give the appearance that he is in the trenches with the rest of us…………. but he is not.
He is filthy rich, just like all of these scumbags. That $400 a month that he speaks of will be to him, about what $4 a month would be to many of us who struggle to get by. $4 a month is piss little to guarantee a lucrative job that not only has excellent pay and other benefits, but has its own cottage industry of corruption which probably pays even better, courtesy of his Military Industrial Complex cronies.
Do not be deceived!
Since Graham is “guaranteed” his Senate job, why are we holding an election?
Good question!
Edit: There, I fixed it.
Why did Fidel Castro hold an election every so often?
The turn out rates in N. Korea, Iran, & Russia are astoundingly high and fairly unanimous.
Democracy in action. Even more interesting, how many Communist countries refer to themselves as Democracies? Even more interesting than that, how many actually ARE Democracies?
:)
Correct. Grahmnesty is doing this so he can say (as we all already know) that he’s taking up the ASS #2014 #Grahmnesty
You check out coladaily? Looks like a good replacement for Fish Wrap’s site.
No I haven’t, but I will. Thank You for the tip!
Not a problem…been looking for a new local news w/comment section since they went fb….
I just hope that most of the people of SC have heard enough of this BS long enough to see through it. Every six years he gets “conservative” just long enough to run for another term. I really like the linking of Graham and Clyburn. Like a match made in —- DC. The worst RINO and the worst Dim. What a team. We have a remedy for both in 2014.. Any one of the four REAL Republicans for senate and Leon Wynn to fix the Clyburn mess. The sixth dist. isn’t called “the corridor of shame ” for nothing. It is a shame they keep electing Clyburn.
Amen to that RogueElephant! Hey good to see you found your way here from The State!!!!
Good to see you here too. I have been reading this for a long time just decided to give my two cents worth. It might be worth more than two cents here. I see venomachine is here as well. What ever happened to Wig1776 ? I guess he got tired of blaming Bush for everything. Keep them straight.
Dear Spawar Atlantic Informational Warriors, if you would, while sitting at your desk and reading this article, ask yourself a few questions. What are the potential motives behind this type of article being penned on a Wednesday. This article is about MONEY.
Now, think about what has been “seen” coming through the media pipes. What issues are being “elevated”. Considering the public opinion matrix model, how can pervasive persuasion be leveraged in the opposite direction. As an example, think about the historical information gleaned from Rwanda and Egypt and Syria to able to “re-coil” upon the Central African Republic genocide “funding”.
Now, read this article here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-25312674
….how many citizens are even aware of the historical connection between a Yellowstone Caldera and the Central African Republic genocide and a Fitsnews article and a US Senator Graham’s re-election defeat. Just think….no where in the BBC article does it ever tell readers about the colossal amount of thermal ENERGY that is sitting beneath this huge Caldera and the historical naming of “Old Faithful”. No where in any of the news coming out of the Central African Republic genocide are readers being told about the colossal ENERGY revenues that are being FOUGHT over this very day. No where on this FITSNEWS website are the readers told about the Colossal ENERGY slavery we have right here in our very own state and how much American blood should be saved by tapping an American CALDERA instead of using what type of “Central African Republic” energy. Finally, nowhere and at no time is US Senator Lindsey Graham been a leader on “ANY” issue. Can you think of ONE issue that is important to ALL Americans ( like very CHEAP energy….ICELAND provides what type of thermal energy to ALL of its residents) that US Senator Lindsey Graham has championed since being elected to office. Heck, he doesn’t even tell illegal “Temporary visitors” how much energy revenue they have in their OWN country in Mexico. Mexico has energy, mexico has FOOd, and Mexicans know how to communicate. But No, US Senator Graham wants to sell an immigrant “freedom” at our expense and for a higher cost than what they can get it for in their own country.
SPAWAR Atlantic workers………….does our Captain want to really WIN any war at all.
Translation:
When the breeze from the blue-bottle’s blustering blim twirls the toads in a tooroomaloo, and the whiskery whine of wheedlesome whim drowns the roll of the rattatattoo.
Bravo Shifty….BRAVO…..(clap, clap, CLAP)
Right on QUE….!!
We wonder just how many fellow Fitsnews readers will catch your “whim”…!!
Shifty, dare to wager on how a Nancy Mace “staffer” can rattatattoo a Lindsey Graham donor with your “genocide avatar”…!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who is confused by Ol’Phil…
Note to Euwe Max – read Ol’Phil’s diatribe here and then tell me you’re not confused.
Dear Colonel, just think how viewers of Jeopardy were confused about how the GAME was played when they first watched the “show”…! A show where the answers were KNOWN but the questionable phrase was “not”..!
If a US Senator knows the answer and the debate moderator knows the question then what does the audience KNOW before the debate ever starts…?
Bravo Colonel…………..staying “confused” is what tenet found in the “Art of War”..?
Jeopardy doesn’t confuse me at all, in fact, I just won the base Jeopardy championship here the other night (you’d be surprised at the things we do to kill time over here, I’ve read 10 books, edited a text book, built and raced a pond boat, been in 4 countries and won the base Jeopardy Championship against a panel where the average age was 54…)
The concept of “Confusion” on the battlefield can actually be found in three different principles – Surprise, Security and Unity of Command: Confusing the enemy about your intentions contributes to the principle of surprise. Having a clear understanding of the enemy’s disposition and intentions prevent confusion on your sides part and contributes to Security. A clear mission command line eliminates confusion and keeps your forces focused on defeating the enemy rather than debating who’s in charge of what.
We’ve been suffering from a failure of Unit of Command over here for 10 years.
What is the tally on taking the federal healthcare subsidy within our congressional delegation AND their staff?
http://www.thestate.com/2013/12/10/3152040/sc-delegation-embraces-wide-range.html
This article gives the lowdown on who took the subsidies, etc…
Graham claims that his health care premium is going up about $400 a month, or over 200% — compared to what? To his previous subsidized Senate coverage? To a 54-year old single Oconee County man with BC/BS, or what?
This is the Senate version of John Boehner’s little stunt. A dumb-show for the base and a middle-finger to Obamacare. Win-win!
I’m not a great fan of Lindsey Graham, but I care about South Carolina.
SC is too small to vote out one of its last 2 influential members of Congress and the Senate. Like him, or not, Lindsey has power and influence in DC.
Since SC foolishly voted out by Tea Party idiots, all it’s power in DC last elections, we now only have 2 guys left: Graham and Clyburn who can do anything for SC. Truth is: you have to go to one of those 2 people to get any funding for SC from DC, and that’s a fact. Vote out Graham and all you have left is Clyburn.
SC needs to vote smart and keep power in both parties. That way, no mater who controls DC, SC always wins. We need senior leaders in both the Democrat and Republican party representing us in DC. Not these worthless all Republican junior senators and congressman we have now.
So, hold your nose and vote for Lindsey Graham for the Senate. It’s what’s best for South Carolina and your families.
Naive much? How is it that thinking people see power in the hands of these self-serving shits as being good for us, just because they are from SC? They use that power and influence to line their own pockets, to better their interests and to become more powerful. The gullible, believe this is somehow a great thing for SC and continue to vote them in.
We should be looking more at what is good for this country, than whether we can get another (generally meaningless to the average Joe or Jane) pork project for SC or hold on to one that we already have. Graham wants to open the floodgates for illegal aliens, bullshit about “securing the border” notwithstanding. In his eyes, we cannot give away enough money we don’t have to dictators in third-world shitholes who at best have ambiguous intent toward us and more frequently, hate our guts.
Lindsey is a traitor and his actions prove he has nothing but contempt for the American Citizen and taxpayer. Do you really think his power and influence is worth keeping him around?????
I can’t say that I totally disagree with your concerns.
I’ve just worked for decades in DC and Columbia and know how much influence it takes to get funding for jobs or anything else for SC.
I know you hate these characters, and so do I.
But, unfortunately that’s the way the game is being played in DC and Columbia. Money talks and bullshit walks.
Yes, I hate to admit it, I think Lindsey’s power in DC is worth keeping him around. We don’t have enough other senior members of Congress or the Senate to offset his loss. Just keep letting him know that we are watching him closely in DC and he will have to answer when he comes home.
I have no choice but to respect your right to your opinion, but I see much of what is wrong with this country as being that voters choose power and influence that “might” help their state over what is right or wrong and what is best for the US as a whole.
I would give up his power and influence any day for an honest person who has at least a semblance of caring about what is good for the country.
I wish it were so.
But, the Lobbyist in Columbia and DC own the place.
Only a very few actually represent the people.
Until the money is gone and Corporations are not people with the same rights as citizens, the crooks own our country.
Aye! I believe we are mostly on the same sheet of music, with possibly different viewpoints.
One way to keep the crooks down is to not allow them to accumulate this power and influence. We need term limits but they will never give them to us. We, as voters can help keep their power, and to some degree their corruption and damage to our way of life, down by voting them out before they accumulate such power.
I agree with you on Term Limits.
I read an interesting article on the subject of Term Limits.
The conclusion was: that since nobody would have experience.
The Congress would depend on the existing Bureaucrats more for guidance. Thus, giving the Bureaucrats some of the powers lost by the inexperienced Congress. At least we could fire Bureaucrats that screw up.
I’d propose: one 5 year term for President and Senate: max.
Two each, 2 year terms for Congress: max.
All Committee Chairs should be changed each year on a State by State turn basis. With each State having an opportunity to head each Committee in a random selection method.
The Lobbyist would have a hard time keeping up with the ever changing DC personnel. Thus, making it a little harder for them to get control. Plus, we could take a tip from Iran and make it illegal to give massive amounts of money to politicians and even for one politician to campaign for another.
I believe there was an Article V Constitutional Convention kind of gathering recently held at Mt. Vernon, where they discussed this dilemma. Whether it was a big circle jerk or it bore fruit, is a big question. But I understand the SC delegates were very engaged in the process.
Yes, I hate to admit it, I think Lindsey’s power in DC is worth keeping him around.
***************
Just keep letting him know that we are watching him closely in DC and he will have to answer when he comes home.
*facepalm*
The traitor word is thrown around a lot. He isn’t a traitor, he’s a senator. Not a great one but the best we have.
To sell out his country for political gain, by opening the floodgates of illegal aliens, is treasonous.
To advocate giving away money we don’t have, to countries who are frequently hostile to us, is treasonous.
To continually push to erode freedoms guaranteed in The United States Constitution, is treasonous.
Lindsey Graham IS a traitor!
Your interpretation is flawed.
Calling a spade a spade is somehow flawed?
Please elaborate.
Your definition of treason is flawed and over the top. Period. http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/treason
“…or by consciously or purposely acting to aid its enemies.”
Uhhh, no. I think he fits the definition quite well.
He is a real life p.o.s.
SATAN also has power and influence. According to your logic, You would vote for him also. I also want to wish all of the Islamic Jihad brother hood a Merry Christmas.
Lindsey will win, more than likely. The best GOP candidate that we have. Sad to say.
But…but…but…Nancy Mace is running. Even the Pope of Rome and Queen of England must know she was the first girl graduate of the Citadel. She hasn’t done much of anything since, but she was the the first girl.
You are probably right. It is hard to get enough “real’ voters to defeat the voting machines, illegal aliens, and dead that all his money will use to influence the outcome. I am still going to vote for a person that has not yet proven they have no respect the Constitution or our Citizens.
Of course Graham’s statement about his insurance costs are typical Republican BS, designed to mislead stupid people. I.E. Republicans and Teapublicans. He is comparing the cost of an unsubsidized policy under the exchanges to his previously subsidized group policy. Of course it is more. I am a 55 year old male, living in SC. I own my own business and I pay for my insurance privately. I..E. I have no group. The cost of my policy under the exchanges will be approximately the same as the cost of my policy now, but my current $10,000 deductible is being cut almost in half. That will save me thousands of dollars next year. Even though I earn too much to qualify for a tax subsidy.
Further, I can now change policies. I have a pre-existing condition. Prior to the ACA I was stuck with my current insurer, regardless of the increase in my premiums. Now I can change carriers, and i don’t have to be worried about my current insurer dropping me.
Nancy Pelosi, the US House architect of Obamacare, has pushed for the WH to pressure the Office of Personnel Management to pay for any premium increases for Congressional members and their aides! Under the old system, the government (read as taxpayers) contributed nearly 75 percent of premium payments. This was being abolished under Obamacare. If payments stopped, lawmakers and aides would have faced thousands of dollars in additional premium payments each year. The OPM issued a rule last August to break the law in allowing taxpayer money to be used to pay for their healthcare!!!!
The 2014 premiums for Federal workers tells the story.
A Blue Cross/Blue Shield high individual policy holder will only pay 136.70 a month for Obamacare coverage while the US Taxpayer will pay the rest of their monthly premium, 410.12!! This is clearly breaking the law as Obamacare was written.
A federal high family policyholder with Blue Cross/Blue Shield will only pay 219.15 a month while the taxpayer must pay the remaining 675.46 of their monthly premium!
Rep Wilson SC-2 pays only 219.15 a month for full Blue Cross/Blue Shield coverage while his constituents must pay the remaining 675.46 a month while we also face having our healthcare plans cancelled and face a mandate to get new coverage by April 2014 using a website that has been broken down for the last 6 weeks! Sen Lindsey Graham only pays 136.70 a month for full dental, prescriptions, and keeps his doctor while his constituents pay for the rest of his premium, 410.12!
http://www.opm.gov/healthcare-…
Hey Joe and Lindsey, how can you honestly ask for our votes in 2014 when we have to pay for your healthcare increases? We do not work for you!
I read elsewhere that 75% of the cost of his old federal plan was paid by his employer – us.
Are we supposed to believe Lindsey has NOT been availing himself of Tricare, lo these many years? I thought the purpose of him entering the military was to get benefits for himself and his them dependent sister after their parents died?
Why did Tim Scott go with the DC plan? They ALL should have to go with the plans in their home states.
. Looks like he’s got some fresh yeller dye on that head o’ hair o’ his.
That’s NOT hair coloring.
Yuck.
It is called timing. ELECTION TIME. YEA, why do we have elections in SC. For the past 60 years SC has been in the bottom 40 in all categories, education, unemployed, income average, welfare and the list goes on an on. The register voters maybe 10% show up. That means that SC Citizens love the shape the state is in. That is the barometer for measuring. The elected in every category enjoy the title of professional politician but no one ever questions them why SC always on bottom. Love the promises and want to make a difference. For the last 60 years the political parties especially the SCGOP helps keep these rankings. The SCGOP is very happy with the these ranking because SC is a red state.
So Graham’s bitching about paying another $400 a month out of, I don’t know, how much money does the taxpayers give him every fucking year? Smallest violin, man.
Graham’s not stating the obvious difference between his old state-paid group coverage and his new out-of-his-pocket individual coverage, which is almost as astounding as it is unsurprising. Why compare apples to apples when there’s perfectly good oranges to make your case look better, right?
I have never heard of a law being passed when the President, Senators, & House members then exempt staff, Unions and special groups from the law. Kiss my ass @ Apache Pass, if they think I will participate in this bogus Obamacare BS.
If you had a clue what you were talking about, you might be worth having a conversation with.
What are you talking about?
I’d like to see where he buys his shoes.
