We encourage all forms of gambling here at FITS …
Seriously, with state government doing everything within its power to solidify its monopoly over the industry, it is up to us as free citizens to reclaim our liberty the old-fashioned way.
So place your bets! Although if you were hoping to make some mint off of this weekend’s college football games in the Palmetto State, you may be disappointed with your options. Both the University of South Carolina (8-2, 6-2 SEC) and Clemson (9-1, 7-1 ACC) are playing in-state FCS opponents this weekend – meaning both schools are expected to breeze to easy victories.
How easy?
Clemson is a 42.5-point favorite over The Citadel (40 according to some Vegas odds makers), while South Carolina is a 34.5-point favorite over Coastal Carolina.
Whoa … those are some big point spreads, people.
Looking for a more competitive game on which to wager? Well, if you’re a Southeastern Conference fan try Vanderbilt at Tennessee (Vols by 2.5 – 3), Missouri at Ole Miss (Tigers by 2.5 – 3) or Texas A&M at LSU (Tigers by 4 – 5).
There are also a trio of Top 25 match-ups to choose from – Baylor at Oklahoma State (Bears by 9.5) in the Big 12, Arizona State at UCLA (Sun Devils by 1.5 – 3) in the Pac 12 and Wisconsin at Minnesota (Badgers by 14.5 – 17) in the Big Ten.
“Minna-SOHHHH-tah,” our founding editor proclaimed, gazing into his crystal ball. “Go wit da GOHHH-phas.”
Really?
“Ohhhhhh yahh,” Sic Willie affirmed. “Minna=SOHHHH-tah.”
But seriously … do your homework before you put any money on the line (a.k.a. checking yourself before wrecking yourself). Don’t take the advice of bloggers who simply enjoy monophthong-ing and Canadian raising.

Rain for the game…not good
Very true with the wet conditions, and not only that, I would think that as soon as either team would get up by that 4th score point difference you wouldn’t see one starter in the game with the big game next week. I wouldn’t think either team would win by anymore than 30 barring a lot of junk time scores, but those can go both ways (much like squishy123 does). It might just be me but I would bet on both Coastal and Citadel. Perhaps 45-24 USC, and close to the same with 52- 24 Clemson. I’d give Clemson more but they wont have the ball that much today with the triple option. (Keep in mind I admit I have no f-ing clue what I am talking about when it comes to predicting scores but I’d bet the farm on squishy)
Take Coastal and the points. TBG heard the over/under was 70. Take the under.
Sakerlina 34, Coastal 17
Clemson 49 Citadel 10
The Magik Round Dice pronounce that —
Carolina — 41 Coastal— 16
Clemson — 43 Citadel — 15
—– ooops!
Don’t feel like the Lone Ranger (prn: LUHN RAW-JHAY). I thought the Gamecocks would only win by 21. It’s a damn good thing I’m not a bookie! I did get the over/under right about Clemson/Cid, though.
Next Saturday are the BIG GAMES with Carolina/Clemson, Alabama/Auburn, and of course, Missouri/Texas A&M. Lots of talking, guessing, and chewin’ & spittin” will be happening this week. My drankin’ will be saved for Saturday.
PRO TIP :
Bet the opposite of what TBG predicts…
The only sure bet is on whoever is playing Southern Miss. Byrnes could beat Southern Miss. Easily.
Tell me you didn’t just write an article and quote yourself…..talking about checking yourself
He does that from time to time… I don’t mind. In fact, I imagined hearing him say it in one god-awful Minnesotan accent.
Gotta at least give him credit for the disclaimer though, right?
Then TBG said to himself, “TBG……..”
Wow, Clempson barely covers the spread against a joke of a Citadel team (5-7 really?!?) and USC doubles it against a FCS team – looks like a good weekend for football in Columbia – if you’re a Gamecock!
