South Carolina is one of the states that is not tracking the number of health insurance policies canceled as a result of U.S. President Barack Obama’s socialized medicine law.
Why not? Good question …
However the Palmetto State is tracking the number of citizens who enrolled in Obamacare during its first month of implementation (assuming you accept the government’s definition of “enrolled,” anyway).
That total? 572.
Across the country 4.02 million people in 28 states lost coverage as a result of the new law – compared to only 106,185 who signed up for coverage on the government exchanges (in all fifty states), according to a new report in The Wall Street Journal.
Those terrible numbers prompted Obama to try and amend the law this week to give insurers another year to comply with its mandates – although it isn’t immediately clear whether he has the authority to do so.
Bottom line, though? In a clumsy, heavy-handed attempt to expand health care coverage via higher taxes, additional regulations and new mandates, so far Obamacare has succeeded in reducing the number of insured Americans by roughly 3.9 million.
Way to go, government …

It is absolutely relevant, the reforms are fairly similar. How is it irrelevant? Because you want it to be?
Medicare part D also had rollout issues. Hell, the initial Medicare system itself had a fair amount of opposition when it was passed (remember Ronald Reagan speaking out against “socialized medicine?”), and it also had issues at first.

Fact is, these programs don’t become instant successes, they require time – as well as tweaks in the legislation – to get the kinks out. However, ultimately they do improve things and people do like the programs.
But hey, I guess facts are irrelevant, amirite?

Saw an electronic billboard in Myrtle Beach with Blue Cross/Blue Shield announcing “You can keep your health insurance policy.”
Since insurers are not required to notify the state when they cancel policies, there is no way for the states to track these numbers, duh! Any number cited is a CWAG at best.
Since state law prohibits a company that quits writing insurance in a particular segment from re-entering for five years, the 14 companies that filed their 180-day notice of intention to leave may have abandoned 33,000 clients — sweet pickings for BC/BS.
When is someone going to mention that Jim Clyburn is just as guilty as Obama, parroting his promises that Americans wouldn’t have to give up their health plans nor their doctors? Oh wait! I just did.

It’s personal. I hate what he has done to himself and what his goon-squad party is doing to us. He was, until the turn of the century, a very good friend. ACA is the Republican plan developed by Jim DeMint’s Heritage Foundation 20 years ago as the alternative to the Clinton Health Security plan and implemented by GOP governor Mitt Romney in Massachusetts because he planned for it to be THE issue that would lead him to the White House.
The GOP can’t come up with an alternative because it’s THEIR plan.

The reason that South Carolina is tracking those who sign up for Obamacare is so they can be thrown in jail when H.3101, the nullification of Obamacare, is signed by Governot Haley.
