So….Barry says today, “It’s important that we’re honest and straight forward…” REALLY??? You just can’t this shit up people. This charlatan hasn’t been honest or straight forward about a GD thing for essentially his entire silver spooned life and he’s talking about honesty. He and his party and his adminstration pulled off the single greatest act of deliberate fraud ever perpetrated on the American people and he’s talking about honesty. This presidency is straight from the pages of The Onion. Unfortunately, the joke has been on us.

This may be a fine example of “be careful what you ask for”.
If this one-year extension of existing policies is enacted and signed into law, it means that the insurance companies get to enjoy another year of selling crap policies to people who think they are invincible, policies that can expose individuals to greater than the $6,350 out-of-pocket cap of PPACA, policies that companies can cancel if you get sick too much, policies that fail to cover prescription drugs, etc.
The silver lining is that this is a big, contrived controversy over a small segment of Americans — individuals in the private insurance marketplace, rather than those insured in group plans through their employment — that represents only about 5% of those currently insured.
But, hey! Enjoy your pyrrhic ideological victory over that socialist in the White House!

I’m sure glad Republicans are fighting for the little people to keep their scammy junk insurance that lures them into a false sense of security! Wow, they’re fighting for a few million people to keep lower quality insurance coverage while fighting against millions upon millions who are trying to get any coverage at all! How heroic!

Several analysts are wondering how they’re going to “undo” all these cancellations. It doesn’t sound like its as simple as changing a code from “cancelled” to “current”. It sounds like many will have to go through readmission as if they are new clients… which could be interesting with pre-existing conditions and premiums.

What gives this President the right to circumvent Congress in changing a law? That’s not within his power. He must either petition Congress to address the situation through an amendment to the law, or enact his executive priviledge. He can’t just say it and it becomes changed. The ACA states (and has stated since it’s passage) that the government will determine whether your health care coverage is adequate or not, yet does not go into detail as to what those qualifications are. They can’t make it up, nor change it, as these things are discovered. Under the ACA as it stands, no one who has lost their current insurance coverage under this Act can get it back. So, what amendment or executive priviledge was enacted for insurance companies to be legally binded to reinstate insurance policies that were cancelled under the ACA?
What’s the sound of a lame duck quacking…?
