Public charter schools are a fair way for public education to innovate. Unlike private schools, everyone has an opportunity to attend based on their ability. Charleston County’s Academic Magnet High School was ranked the 10th best high school in the nation this year by US News and World Reports.
CCSD’s Academic Magnet High School is not a charter school–there are charter schools within CCSD, but AMHS is not one of them. It’s an amazing facility and the turnaround there within the public school district is truly remarkable, however.
