America’s Global “Spy-Gate” Expands

The United States of America has spent decades lecturing the rest of the world on what it means to be free.

How times have changed, right?

In addition to running a massive domestic spy machine on its own people, America has recently been busted spying on its global allies – including Germany and France. Now, according to Spain’s El Mundo newspaper, you can add another “friendly” nation to Big Brother’s list – with the paper accusing the National Security Agency (NSA) of monitoring more than 60 million Spanish phone calls between December 2012 and January 2013.

Crazy, huh?

Spain is furious – with one of its diplomats calling the American snooping “improper and unacceptable between partners and friendly countries.”

America’s response? “We did it to protect you,” basically.

While broadly admitting the espionage, U.S. President Barack Obama has denied knowledge of some of the more sensitive allegations in the mushrooming global spy scandal – including the allegation that he authorized the NSA to snoop on the phone calls of European leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Of course Obama’s track record when it comes to telling the truth on these matters is … well … awful.

Again … this is crazy.

What’s also insane? The guy who blew the whistle on all this spying – former NSA contractor Edward Snowden – was forced to flee to Mother Russia in order to protect himself from the big bad U.S. government.

Oh … and even communist China is now calling out the American government for violating the privacy of world leaders.

Wow …

We have become an Evil Empire indeed, people … of course we told you that before all these spy scandals broke.

Oh No! We should retreat into hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil mode. Then we can truly say, “I didn’t see that coming”.

Spy-Gate, hardly. Germany, France, Spain, China…it’s not like they and we haven’t been doing this for a very long time. Why is there superficial outrage, we have a weak, superficial CinC that continually denies knowledge of what is going on in his Administration. Remember, if you like your plan you can keep it, period.

Let the impeachment process begin. Make Obama’s legacy equal that of Richard Nixon.

The first tape recorder in the oval office was probably installed by
FDR, before that, stenographers sat behind closed doors to record what
was said. Nixon was simply the guy who got caught saying something he shouldn’t have (course maybe he shouldn’t have bugged the DNC either) – it sucks to be the
guy left holding the bag.

Expands??? cmon, This is tip of iceberg of what was going on in the 70’s*******RAF Menwith Hill is actually a misnomer, since it is run by NSA. And 60 million phone calls over a year, yeah right………….try days……

From Menwith Hill’s wiki page…………Investigative journalist, Duncan Campbell, revealed in 1988, in an article entitled “Somebody’s listening” and published in New Statesman, the existence of the ECHELON surveillance program, an extension of the UKUSA Agreement on global signals intelligence Sigint and detailed how the eavesdropping operations worked.[9]

On 5 July 2000, the European Union set up the European Parliament’s Temporary Committee on the ECHELON Interception System stated that the global system for the interception of private and commercial communications was operating by means of “cooperation proportionate to their capabilities” among the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand under the UKUSA.” The Committee raised concerns about the incompatibility of the interception of private and commercial communications with the fundamental right to respect for private life (Article 8 of the ECHR). [10] During the early 1970s, the first of what became more than eight large satellite communications dishes were installed.

If you think we have not been spying on Germany ever since WWII, and probably since WWI, you are crazy. And yes, so none of you will be shocked we are spying on China, Russia, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Taiwan, etc. etc. and wherever there are “hot spots” in the world that might erupt and effect American interests.
Oh, and you want to hear a real shocker, most of them are spying on us. Particularly Israel and China. The Chinese have hacked DOD computers on numerous occasions.

No other country nor nation believes anything anymore that Obama says. Hence, the pathological liar has destroyed our relationships with our allies.
