The National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) led the lobbying effort against gun control on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. during the third quarter of 2013, spending $1,030,000.
The UN Gun Ban, expanded federal background checks, so-called “gun trafficking” legislation and new “mental health” mandates are the greatest threats to gun owners as we move forward into the fourth quarter. President Obama and Harry Reid are counting votes, and will move to pass any gun control bill they can if they get the votes to do so.
“We are poised to fight tooth and nail against any bill that restricts or bans the rights of gun owners,” says Dudley Brown, Executive Vice President of NAGR. “We won’t be sitting ducks the next time the Obama administration attempts to ram gun control into law.”
We’re also working with allies on Capitol Hill, supporting legislation to repeal hundreds of anti- gun laws and regulations that restrict gun rights currently on the books.
With more than 3 million members and supporters, the National Association for Gun Rights is America’s fastest-growing and most effective grassroots gun rights organization.

Won’t be sitting ducks? Huh? Most of the proposed reform was stripped out and the finished product was rejected. I doubt there will be any new attempt.
Wrong, Smirks. As long as treasonous, power-hungry, politicians such as Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Bloomberg, and their kind are in office in this country, there WILL be more new attempts to take our guns or otherwise limit our freedoms to keep and bear arms.
Come on man, I know you are smarter than to believe otherwise.
How do we pronounce the acronym?
You sir, have asked a very important question.
Dude. That’s racialist.
Funny too.
It’s pronounced W I F E
An alternative to the apparently infiltrated (or otherwise counterproductive) NRA is needed. I hope Mr Brown’s NAGR is or will be such a viable alternative.
NRA has lost touch with its members and with what is really going on in some instances, especially in local and state elections and the way it hands out “A” or “A+” ratings to undeserving politicians, like candy at Halloween.
Examples can be found in how the NRA endorsed Jake Knotts in 2008 and 2012, despite pleas from local members not to because Jake has changed and was hurting gun owners rather than helping them, as he did at one time.
Likewise the NRA continues to give charlatan State Representative Mike Pitts of Greenwood and Laurens counties an “A+” rating, despite glaring evidence that he is only putting on an act as being “pro-gun” each year. Pitts invariably has fatal flaws in any “pro-gun” legislation he introduces, which will harm gun owners more than help them. Pitts did his damndest to gut the Restaurant Carry bill this last session by trying to jack up fees 50% (to $75) while only increasing the term of a CWP $25% (to five years). He did this ostensibly because poor little SLED was having to spend too much money on CWP applications. Increasing the terms of CWP’s would help SLED and CWP holders without costing either anything extra. Anyhow, PItts’ efforts successfully helped to run the clock out and stall any chance of restaurant carry for CWP holders until next year.
When my membership in the NRA expires next month, I will not be renewing.
Hello NAGR!
You’ll get three emails a day with dire predictions that can only be solved by sending NAGR more money. And you’ll never see any results.
Sounds like the NRA. They remind me of televangelists. Always a crisis and always needing money. True, there ARE frequently crises which do require money, but geez.
So are you saying they’ll NAG the shit out of you?
We have had several shootings that last spring would have generated tremendous gun control activity among Democrats, now, silence. They don’t want gun control to be an issue in the 2014 elections and yet the GOP won’t bring it up. NAGR (for the record I pronounce it nagger) says it will work to roll back other gun control laws but what do we hear silence. GOP is scared of its own shadow with regards to gun control. They worry any attempt to undo gun control will result in a backlash so they keep it quiet and try to sneak legislation through that effectively rolls back some gun control legislation. They need to grow some testicles and be loud and proud about undoing gun control laws, that’s what will help them in this next election.
I wish we could use our guns on the internet.
