A powerful circuit court judge in South Carolina was stripped of his leadership post and banished from his home county after he was busted having an affair. But that’s just the beginning of the saga surrounding South Carolina circuit court judge Knox McMahon – which we’re told is “the worst kept secret in the Palmetto State’s judicial branch of government.”

According to our sources McMahon – who was elected to his post by the S.C. General Assembly in 2006 – was caught having an affair with his law clerk, which is a major ethical “no-no.”

Ready for the first kicker? The judge is pushing seventy years old while the girl he was allegedly sleeping with – Jenny K. Rogers of West Columbia, S.C. – is in her mid-twenties.

“If a judge wants to have an affair with his middle aged court reporter that’s one thing,” a source familiar with McMahon’s alleged affair tells FITS. “But you can’t bang the twenty-something law clerk.”

It gets better, though …

The second kicker? McMahon didn’t just have an affair with Rogers, according to our sources, he got her pregnant – which is when S.C. Supreme Court chief justice Jean Toal reportedly decided to intervene in the case.

First, Toal stripped McMahon of his role as chief administrative judge for South Carolina’s eleventh judicial circuit – which oversees Edgefield, Lexington, McCormick and Saluda counties.  Next she replaced him with at-large circuit court judge Thomas A. Russo. Finally she banished McMahon to Florence, S.C.

“He’s lucky,” said one circuit court judge who spoke with FITS on condition of anonymity. “He shoulda gotten much worse.”

He may yet still …

McMahon’s wife, Nita, has reportedly left him and attorneys tell FITS divorce proceedings are imminent.

A legislative panel initially found McMahon unqualified to serve on the bench, however his supporters raised hell and the panel – the notoriously corrupt S.C. Judicial Merit Selection Commission – reversed its prior ruling.

Bet they’re wishing they had that vote back …

McMahon supporters initially denied the reports and sought to blame the affair on an attorney in Lexington, S.C. As FITS dug deeper into the matter, though, they relented.

Anyway, stay tuned for more information as FITS continues to follow this breaking scandal …

Toal has to face the “notoriously corrupt S.C. Judicial Merit Selection Commission” in a few weeks herself to answer why she is stabbing Costa Pleicones in the back and running for 15 additional months as chief justice. Those who have inquired about tesitifying against Toal have already been told, don’t bother. Both Toal and Pleicones will be labeled “qualified” because the lawyers on the committee don’t want to risk making Toal angry which will lead to retaliation from her if she pulls out a win in the election. Pundits believe Pleicones is ahead by at least ten votes right now. It’s getting so very nasty. Come on down to a Devine Street bar and listen to the lawyers talking after work. Leave before the bullets start flying though.

Knox must have something on Toal – which many do these days. If he did all this and had not been one of her chosen ones, she would have yanked him from the bench all together. There must be more to this story.

All this from a low life, douche bag blogger who got arrested, and convicted, for beating his very nice girlfriend in an act of horrendous violence. A bald little dork who started as a little bitch bowing and scraping to powerful and intelligent people who treated him like the tool he is and now he tries to get his revenge on his former masters.

Yes, yes, we get it, Willie is just such a terrible person that you just HAVE to come here and generate ad revenue for him just to get it off your chest.

“If a judge wants to have an affair with his middle aged court reporter that’s one thing…But you can’t bang the twenty-something law clerk.” Only in modern ‘Merica is the crime ”banging the young hottie” versus committing adultery.

”The second kicker… he got her pregnant…” Surely this woman was familiar with the concept of birth control even if she was unfamiliar with the idea of self control? For the record Will he didn’t “…got her pregnant…”, last time I looked it takes two “to tango” or “bump uglies” or “knock boots” or “make the beast with two backs” so “…she got pregnant as a result of their promiscuous activities”.

Knox was doomed from the beginning. When he was told he wasn’t qualified, Jake Knotts and Danny Frazier, and Hazel (then) Tyndal starting beating the drum and using polictical pressure to get him on the bench. Well it worked. Guess who clerked with him on the bench. Hazel’s daughter. WEll WEll. Isn’t it funny that anything that Danny and Jake Knotts are involved in falls to crap. The biggest news with this is Knox and Knotts wer cops together in Columbia and both got crack head informant knocked up and both have iligitimate black children with these ladies.

Edgar October 16, 2013 at 9:02 am

Ah, that explains the Toal connection. Knox and Knotts were/are buds. Knotts still has a direct line to Toal and is doing all he can to get her re-elected – so she can continue to protect him from the bogus SLED investigations and to do what she can to keep the Feds off of Knotts through her connections with Bill Nettles.

Any other circuit court judge would have been suspended and put out to pasture. But Knox just got a transfer. Toal sustained the myth that judicial discipline in South Carolina is all about who can get you to Toal.

Vinny? Are you going to tell us if you are going to vote for Toal against Pleicones?

There are several other circuit court judges who need to be thrown off the bench. And we wonder why court transcripts are some times altered, purged, and even audio recordings go missing??? Oh yeah … it DOES HAPPEN ….intentionally, of course.

Downlowlawdog October 16, 2013 at 8:13 pm

I know a court reporter who quit over her transcripts being “corrected.” It;s worse the higher up the Toal chain of corruption one climbs.

It was one of the most pitiful cases the old judge had ever seen. An elderly, worn-out prostitute stood before the bench. Her looks had left her about 40 years ago, she had no other skills and no family. She begged for leniency. The old judge was so moved by her pitiful pleas that he declared a recess and retired to his chambers to contemplate her sentence.
As it would happen, a colleague of his, that he had gone to law school with dropped in for a visit. The old judge described the pitiful defendant, in detail, and said, “i have no idea what to give her.”
“Not more than $20”, the other judge replied.
